Product Description

Stamina's Air Resistance Cross Trainer is an affordable way to work out at home on one of the most popular machines in the gym. Elliptical trainer workouts burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Since your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina Air Resistance Cross Trainer gives a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In fact, whereas jogging, jumping rope, aerobics classes, and exercising on a treadmill all require your body to absorb the force of impact, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Because ellipticals are so low impact and easy on the joints, they are also a good choice for older people or for individuals who have old injuries. Adjust the resistance to control the intensity of your workout. Turn the knob to one of eight resistance levels without interupting your workout. Elliptical trainers mimic the natural path of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower body workout while the dual action arms work your upper body and let you increase or decrease intensity. Work your arms harder to tone and to burn more calories. The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride to tone thighs and glutes.

An affordable way to burn calories when the weather takes a turn for the worse, the Stamina air resistance cross trainer is a terrific choice for home workout enthusiasts. Elliptical trainers offer a unique appeal, as they burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. The smooth-gliding machines are also ideal for older people or folks who are recovering from injury, as their low-impact design won't tax the joints. And thanks to the dual-action handlebars, you can exercise both the arms and the feet at the same time--something that can't be said for traditional jogging. The movement of the dual handlebars instead mimics cross-country skiing, helping you engage the upper 30 percent of your body for better fitness results.

The cross trainer offers three ways to adjust your workout intensity: air resistance, which creates more resistance the faster you pedal; the dual-action handlebars, which naturally add more cardio intensity while toning your arms, chest, shoulders, and back; and a tension knob that offers eight levels of built-in resistance. Users will also appreciate the 13-inch stride length, which mimics the walking or running motion of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip. Finally, the trainer offers an easy-to-use, single button electronic monitor that tracks your speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The trainer--which measures 38 by 59 by 15 inches (W x H x D)--supports up to 300 pounds and carries a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

  • Smooth-gliding elliptical trainer with pair of handlebars for full-body training
  • Air resistance system creates more intensity the faster you pedal
  • Variable tension knob with 8 levels of built-in resistance; 13-inch stride length
  • Single button electronic monitor tracks speed, time, distance, and calories burned

Customer Reviews:

  • Great Cross-Trainer
After searching the Internet for a small exercise machine I was about ready to give up as everything was much too large for the limited space I have. However, at last I did find just what I was looking for - a smaller, well made machine with good customer reviews. I have used it every day since receiving it and have nothing but good to say about it. It's quiet, has adjustable resistance, the monitor works perfectly and best of all, I'm increasing each day the length of time that I'm able to use it so it's obviously doing what it's supposed to. I highly recommend this Stamina Cross-Trainer and give it a big A+. ...more info

  • First Exercise Piece of Equipment I've used this long
I've bought other indoor equipment to work out with and lost interest. I love this one. I've used it consistantly everyday with out fail. If I could change one this though I would make the two cross bars on the bottom longer for a better "feel" of stability". It feels okay but for my own mind it could be better... if that makes sense....more info
  • You get what you pay for.
First, this machine is not the easiest to assemble, but the instructions are very helpful. That is not why I rated this machine only one star, however.

We owned the first one for one week. During my 4th time using it, the right pedal arm fell off - the bolt holding it to the crank shaft stripped out. I received replacement parts under warranty, but they are impossible to replace without buying another tool (which we could not find locally) and a ton of elbow grease. So, we shipped it back to Amazon and ordered a replacement.

We owned the second one for a little over a month, just long enough that we cannot return it to Amazon. The belt slipped off the wheel inside, making the pedals immoble. So now we are in the same predicament as before. No tool to dismantle the machine, even though we can get a new belt. Stamina's customer service will not refund our money (yet) and expect us to fix it ourselves, even though this is covered under warranty (which also states that we should return it to them for repair). However, the Staminateam Customer Service reps do respond promptly to emails.

I liked this machine when it was working. But next time, I will spend more money and buy a quality machine....more info
  • the 250lb weight limit is false advertising- so beware!
I bought the machine put it together and started using it. It was not hard to assemble, but it does not hold weight over 200lbs. After the first few days i started having a problem with the pedal attached to the crank it was stripping and the pedal was coming off. So i called stamina they sent me new parts. Again i had to put it together...Again i was having a problem with the crank that was attached to the pedal it was stripping again and the pedal was falling off. The the belt went on the machine. So now i called statmina but i figured let me just get a whole new machine instead of playing with parts being shipped. So called amazon and they were great they sent me a new machine in 2 days and again i had to put it together. And yet again the pedal was being weighed down and stripped the screw which was held into the crank. So now i was disgusted and i called amazon and they are going to have both machines picked up with a full refund. So five stars to Amazon for being curteous and helpful. But cause of the false advertising and the trouble i went through with this machine only 1 star for this product. When it works, it works great. As long as you weigh less then 200 or maybe even less then that. Its just a very flimsy item, i guess you get what you pay for. I decided on getting a weslo, i was shocked when i opened it up and saw how heavy duty it was. It works great its stable and its weight requirment says up to 250 lbs and it lives up to that. So if your heavy and want an elliptical try weslo. They are a little more money, i payed 249.99 but worth it! ...more info
  • Good for the price
It did take my husband several hours to put it together, but we did so without any difficulties. I am 5' 9'' and it is too short for me, but I still get a good workout. When I researched different ellipticals, I found that I would have to jump to the $1000 range to find one with a longer stride. It does wobble slightly if you go too fast. However, I don't feel like I will fall off and it is stable at normal speeds. So it is a good machine for the money....more info
  • a very sad machine!
I purchaced this product and would not recommend it to anyone. You will most likely end up returning it, so why waste your time. Save your money and buy a better machine. I had the machine for 1 day, used it once, and it feel apart on me, and i'm not a real big girl I only weigh 130....more info
  • pretty bad product and even worse service
after two months of moderate use (twice a week, half an hour) the right pedal fell off the crank. I called Stamina for the replacement parts and since then, more than 2 months have passed and they still haven't sent them.

I call them every 3 weeks and each time the lady who answers the phone just comes up with some excuse and says that in the next 3 weeks I should receive the parts. given than I paid only $170 or so, it's almost kind of amusing to see how poor one's service can be, but I guess that next time I will choose a different brand. ...more info
  • Good product for the price
For the price it cant be beat. it does what you need it to. it doesnt have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive machine, but it doesnt need to. you will get a good workout....more info

  • OKay Item
This Product is okay as I weigh 150 and it barely holds. It keeps moving back when used... Kind of crazy. I am glad it is on carpet and the my hard wood. would damage it if it was... I guess you get what u pay for...more info
The second time I used this machine the right pedal arm dropped off. The bolt holding it to the pedal is very short and made from a weak material that stripped immediately. With a stripped bolt you cannot reattach. From the other reviews, it sounds like its a nightmare trying to get replacement parts. The design has a flaw in the pedal arm. The part that moves as well as supports your weight is VERY weak. I did get a good workout the first time, however. But its a waste of time to assemble. ...more info
