Customer Reviews:

  • hmmm
I just got this, so I haven't tried it out in the field yet. Everyone talks about how BIG this pack is. My first impression was hat it was SMALL.

I have an Olympus E-510 (DSLR) with tripod quick release mount attached, 4 lenses in soft cases (3 have hoods that fit in the lens cases too), FL-50 external flash in a soft case, flash bracket (separates into 2 pieces), 4 filters in a tiffen case, 2 more filters in their plastic cases, a cord for the flash & bracket, battery charger & cord, USB cord, extra battery, 3 additional memory cards, body cap, and a veiwfinder shade. I also have a Nikon Coolpix 7600 (point & shoot) in a case with 4 extra AA batteries, & 3 small cases that hold 5 AA batteries each(can never have too many batteries (esp. when they are "rechargable"))and a few extra memory cards, and a USB cable.

All of this stuff along with a few manuals, a few nickels (for the tripod mount screw head), and a different mounting screw for the tripod fit into the cheap camera bag (cameta 1000) that this pack is replacing perfectly - a little too perfect, everything had to be arranged just right for it all to fit.

There isn't too much more space in the camera bag section of this pack. There isn't enough velcro area in the bag to allow for complete flexibility. I'm going to have to fabricate a few small divider pieces to allow for some of the small remaining empty spaces to be used & filled with some of my small stuff. I had to take out most of the dividers that came with it to get all of my stuff to fit in some fashion. If I get another lens, it will have to be stored in the upper compartment.

My 17" HP laptop doesn't come close to fitting in the 17" laptop storage compartment. If it opened up a lot more, it might go in there. I wasn't really planning on hiking around with it anyway, but for traveling purposes it would be good to be able to get it in there.

on the plus side, it does come with a nice little pillow (plastic airbag to fill the upper compartment for shipping).

It seems really comfortable - I have had a real bad backache the past few days - not too bad today, & putting this on with all my gear in it actually made my back feel a bit better.

The whole point of this type of bag is the swing around side access function. this seems like it could work out well. Time to hit the trails & give it a real test....more info

  • Weather resistant without needing a cover, Tons of space for 2 cameras & 4-5 lenses, laptop, flashes, batteries, more....
I'm a professional photographer. Lowepro is definitely my favorite maker for bags. I own several, including a slingshot 200 and some smaller sized bags. The Fastpack 350 is my largest bag. As a woman, I don't think I'd want to carry anything larger. This bag fits everything without getting uncomfortable to carry.

The camera section is easily rearranged to fit my needs. All of the padding is attached by Velcro. I just pull the pads out and rearrange as necessary. I can fit my Canon Mark III with an EF 70- 200 IS USM lens attached, my back- up camera (Canon 20 D), and 4-5 additional lenses (depending upon lens size) all together in the camera section of the bag.

The upper compartment fits my 580 EX strobe (flash unit) and my strobeframe, my flash modifier (flash softbox), batteries for both cameras, memory cards, all of my cables/ remotes, and more.

Add to this the two extra zipper compartments on the front of the bag and you have plenty of room for everything.

As a bonus, I don't have to carry along my laptop case. FINALLY, a camera bag that fits my Macbook Pro....more info
  • Decent Bag for the price
I just got this bag for my Nikon D90 w/ 18-200mm VR lens. The D90 is slightly smaller than the "pro" models, so it's not a perfect fit. But $5 worth of polyethelyne foam fixed that. The one thing I dislike about this bag is the waist strap. On my old (non-camera) bag (a North Face Surge), you could tuck the straps away - which I did the day I got the bag and forgot about until today.

On this bag, the hip strap is padded (it would be comfortable I guess), so it is quite large, and there is no place to tuck it. I ended up cutting off the straps with an exacto knife, and now there's not as much stuff hanging off of it....more info
  • this bag is great
i thought it was going to disappoint me when the bag came in however it didn't. this bag has all the room you need I think. most people who reviewed this bag and didn't like well its a shame because it has everything i need. if you have a dslr & macbook 13 or 15 it will work just fine for what you need too. don't let the other reviews fool you it great. I love the sippers they work really well plus all the pockets and the hidden pockets in the camera part is great good thinking lowepro (well it really isn't hidden but out of site out of mind.)LOL anyway this bag will work for you I have the red one....more info
  • Great Bag
This is a great bag, I was looking for something that would be able to hold a laptop & a camera comfortably and securely, after reading many review online I decided that the Lowepro Fastpack 350 would be the one for me. After receiving it I was blown away by the capacity of this bag. It securely held my 15" unibody MacBook Pro in the laptop compartment, all kind of bike bits in the upper compartment, and my D70s with my 12-14mm Tokina attached. Also in the camera compartment it held my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8, Battery Charger, Filters for both lenses, and a Flash! It is also of note that this bag can fit TWO cameras if you know how to play a little tetris! I am able to fit my D70s with 12-24mm Tokina + Nikkor 50mm f/1.8, along with my Hasselblad 500c/m body + 2 film back + a polaroid back + 80mm Zeiss lens + about 5 rolls of film. Incredible. BUY THIS BAG!...more info
  • Quality Product
The bag was a little bigger than I expected, but it has a great amount of storage. The camera compartment is well padded and easily holds my camera, a few lenses and accessories. The laptop compartment is big enough for a good sized laptop, a few magazines, and a portfolio. It is still small enough to be a carryon but it is a little difficult to get under your seat, and could be difficult to get into an overhead bin on a small aircraft....more info
  • Lowepro Fastpack 350
I carry 2 Nikon 35mm Cameras D90/D80 and a couple of lens, my flash and cords. I would have liked the area where the cameras are kept, to be a bit more padded, hence why I have rated 4 star.

I have carried this backpack loaded throughout my travels around the world and I must say that it is very comfortable, I do not like carrying heavy stuff, but I cannot stress enough that when loaded, this backpack is quite comfortable to carry, it is very well made and water resistant.

    I highly recommend this backpack!!!!!

  • Lowepro Fastpack 350
Very good pack. Straps adjust well, its comfortable even with a heavy load. Wish it could have a little more room int the upper compartment but that's being picky. The only con is that it doesn't come with a rain cover. I like the added security of a rain cover in crowded airports (and of course, for keeping the rain off.) I have been unable to find a 3rd party rain cover. Fits in the overhead well, haven't had a problem getting through security at airport. Good product....more info
  • great bag!
i have the canon 5d & 5dII with attached 70-200 is f2.8 + 85 f1.2 + 135 f2 +50 ziess flash and some other accessories and it fits comfortably on my back with no issues of-course the only down fall is that i have to remove the bag to change lenses but if you traveling far and need to put everything in one place this is the one for you...more info
  • Lowepro never lets you down.
This is a very comfortable bag. Holds everything you would need for a day trip, or longer. The side entry is handy for quick pics. Over all a very solid bag. This is the only backpack I would ever own....more info
  • Great photography backpack for just about everyone.
This backpack is ideal for me, it carries all the gear I need and lets me access my camera on the go. My usual field setup includes: Gripped DSLR, 70-200 f2.8L (attached), 3 extra lenses and a flash unit and/or a spare body (no lens) in the padded section, my 14 inch notebook in the padded notebook pocket, tons of miscellaneous stuff in huge top section. Not only that, but with the harness it feels like I'm not even wearing a backpack, even when it's fully loaded with 25lbs+ of gear. All this and it's just small enough to carry-on domestic and most international flights.

Lowepro has exceeded my expectations once again....more info
  • my own
I ran across this Fastpack at the PMA08 Convention here in Las Vegas and wanted to purchase it right then and there but couldnt. So I waited about 2 weeks and ran across the 350 on Amazon and ordered it. It has all the functionality that I was looking for. It incorporates my small form factor 12in laptop in the back with plenty of padding and quick access to my DLSR. I have had this on my back for hours and it doesnt get uncomfortable when properly adjusted. I am very pleased with the design. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has been wondering if its worth it. ...more info
  • Fastpack 350 Review
This backpack was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a bag that I could carry my Canon XTi, 430EX, 50mm f/1.8, and Tamron 18-200 lens. I am also able to carry my Canon HV-20 also. I have two little kids 1 and 3 and being able to carry my camera gear and a few of the required items I need to take with me anytime we are out and about for my kids fit perfectly into the top of this bag. Now I am also someday beable to get a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L lens from canon and hoping that it will fit into this bag attached. I have used this bag to take my son to the zoo and it was great being able to get to my camera fast.

Now the only reason I did not rate this as 5 stars was because my camera is smaller that the 40D so it has a lot of play in the main compartment. Which I plan to fix with a little modification. Also it would have been nice to have more velcro in the bag for moving the deviders around....more info
