Customer Reviews:

  • Not so Ultimate collection.
As a college student, at $224, this set was always way out of my price range. I got lucky and bought the set while it was on sale and dropped to $89, and honestly I'm glad I didn't buy it at full price. I love having all the movies, and the quality of each DVD is amazing how it was redone. But the packaging was some of the worst I've seen for a DVD set.

Basically, what they did was take all four of the Bond DVD Ultimate Editions and put them in this big black cardboard box and stuck Casino Royale in the middle. Each movie comes with two discs. Disc one contains the movie and disc two contains all of the special features. The cases holding each movie are too slim for the booklet to fit inside so they are loose in the Ultimate Edition Volume they came in. There are special features galore and the booklets contain tons of nice little tid bits about each movie. Be careful though, one of my movies didn't come with a booklet because they gave me two booklets for a different movie instead.

Also, don't expect your set to come in pristine condition. My set was pretty banged up even though I bought it for "brand new" from Amazon and not an Amazon user. One of the corners was dented in pretty badly, which I figured was due to being bounced around during shipping. I was okay with that, but once I opened the outer box I noticed that a couple of the secondary Ultimate Edition Volumes looked like they had been sliced open with a box cutter and there were creases and cuts along the boxes, this I was not okay with.

So really, what you're paying for are the movies, not the packaging at all. Unfortunately, for the price of $224 you would expect some sort of quality, durable packaging. If the packaging were better, I might say the set was worth the $224 but since it isn't, I would definitely discourage anyone from buying it at full price. My recommendation is to wait until the price drops. They do it rarely but it's worth the wait. If you decide to wait for the price drop, I recommend keeping an eye out around the time new James Bond material comes out, like a new movie or a new DVD release. That would be your best bet.

As far as content goes, I would give the set 5 stars because each movie looks beautifully clear and I love all of the special features included. But because the packaging was so terrible and disappointing I'm gonna have to dock it 1 star for a grand total of 4 stars....more info
  • A whole lotta Bond
This is an excellent choice for the Bond lover. I hadn't purchased any of the existing collections, so this was the ultimate way to go. It has all existing 21 EON bond films, Quantum of Solace hasn't been released to theatres yet.

This is all contained fairly substantial case. It comes in a nice slip cover box, with all 21 films in one compartment, and the booklets in too smaller ones. It doesn't take up a large amount of space, but is fairly heavy. It's not as some of the pictures sets that are the 4 collection boxes bundled in the box, they are all individual cases, and it looks much nicer.

It's interesting to watch the series evolve, from basic gadgets from Q to the most high-tech gear you could want from the Q-branch.

20 of the films are in the slim 2 disc DVD cases, with the movie and some bonus features on the main disc, and loads of extra packed into the second disc.

The 21st disc is the Widescreen Special Edition of Casino Royale. It is in a standard 2 disc DVD case, and squeeze into the package nicely.

There are 2 nice DK publishing booklets with info about Bond that fit into the case. Also included are 20 booklets that detail the story and info about the first 20 Bond movies, and have images of the theatre posters etc.

There isn't too much missing from this set, it's the Ultimate Collector's Set for a reason... The few things that are, really are minor though. It would have been nice to have the extra info booklet for Casino Royale to slot in with the others, as well as the matching slim case. Also there is no room for future expansion in the box.

To be complete, there are a couple of documentaries that I would have loved to have been included. I have picked them up seperately, and well as the last Sean Connery Bond film, Never Say Never Again. this one isn't included since it's not an official EON film.

Hopefully they offer a way to make future films match the rest of your collection.

    Still money well spent....more info
  • This set just keeps getting cheaper!
I bought this set in December, 2007, on Amazon for $109.99. It included the then-new Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. It's a nice set and an even better bargain a year later!...more info
  • Best way to have them all.
I am a big fan of the Bond movies and this is a great way to have them all. ...more info
  • What a Deal. 21 movies for less than $100
A friend let me know about this special. 21 "007" Movies for under $100. Surprise! In the box there were two movie ticket vouchers good till the end of August. Net price $82 for 21 movies and 21 special features DVDS. Wow.

The picture quality is great. They have done a really nice job of cleaning up the images. If you like James Bond, you can't pass this up.

  • James Bond Ultimate Collector's Set
What a shame. Probably one of the most well known series ever presented and the marketing people can't get it right. Flimsy boxing, could have at least put them in order of when released. Is missing one. Amazon, with all of your buying power you should be able to help them get it right....more info
  • Wow!
Who could say no to the entire James Bond collection?

Each movie comes with two discs. The movie is on one and extras are on the other....more info
  • A must have...
It is a must have for any James Bond fan...especially if you bought it on sale like I did....more info
  • Re-packaging the Packaging
I just picked up the Bond set in one of Amazon's Gold Box sales for $89, and couldn't be happier. I also was frustrated about the packaging, with the films all mixed up in 4 individual boxes. But because the four boxes are housed in a very sturdy outer box, I just got rid of the 4 individual boxes, put the films and booklets in their proper order -- and was able to include "Casino Royale" and "Never Say Never Again" inside the box, and it STILL leaves room for "Quantum of Solace" in a couple of months. Try it -- it's much better, and less heavy.... The films themselves? What else can be said? A great set....more info
  • Perfect Gift for the Bond Lover in Your Life
It has everything. All of the James Bond movies up to and including Casino Royale and all of the extras dvds for each movie to go along with it. This is not the knock off version that has Chinese menu options and freezes up if you swap sides of the couch. The only flaw is that it is essentially a big box of four previous box sets so it isn't in order. I had to Google a list of the Bond films to find out which to watch first....more info
  • Has no one noticed???
Great collection, bummer about the packaging. But NO ONE NOTICED OR COMMENTED ON the fact that the last Sean Connery "Never say Never Again" is not part of the Collection??? What fool would not add the last time Connery played this role? ...more info
  • What a Steal Of a Deal:)
We just received this today!! And what I don't understand is why no one likes the box these DVD's come in? This is Awesome, My hubby said these DVD's are the best in sound and color!!! He was so happy that I got them for him with the surround sound Sony OMG aboslutely two great deals!! I have Ordered my Pots and Pans and some other things but just started to give my reviews which I do find very helpful, to me anyways!!! Well when these go on Sale again and you have a James Bond Lover, click and buy it's a Awesome set:) Have a good day!! This was Deal of the Day by the way!! I was just there at the right time:) Happy Shopping all!!!...more info
  • Bond, only James Bond!
What can you say about Bond that hasn't been said? This collector set has all 21 movies - Connery, Moore, Daly, Brosnan and Craig. The price was excellent. Enough said....more info
  • Awesome price, good package
I got this when it went on sale from Amazon and for that price it just could not be beaten. The presentation is good and looks fine, although just sticking in Casino Royale seems odd. I would have preferred that Casino Royale be separate (shipped alongside the box) or in a decorative box rather than in the regular retail package, however this is the only issue I have and it is a small one. ...more info
  • Duplicate Movie
Once again I found this great deal and gift to give to someone special for Christmas. The problem was that one of the movies was duplicated. This is not the first time this has happend to me. It was a real dissapointment to find this discrepancy. The company putting these sets together needs to come up with a better packaging system. It's really upsetting to see this happen so often....more info
  • Love Bond Movies, this is for you!!!
This is an awesome collection of movies, contains all Bond movies up to date. All movies have been redone to include better video and 5.1 Surround Sound so even all the old Bond movies look better. A must have for James Bond fans....more info
  • The Perfect Collector's Set
I picked this up on special for $90 and have never looked back. It has every Bond movie up through Casino Royale. Inside the big black box are four smaller boxes - each of the four "Ultimate Edition" volume boxes - along with a copy of Casino Royale. All of the discs appear to be excellent quality, especially when played through an upscaling DVD player. I think the only way they might have made it better would be to have a comparable Blu-ray set. It also might have been nice to have a coupon for a discount on Quantum of Solace, too, since the target for such a set is really a completionist/collector. Anyway, it's a great set. Totally recommended....more info
Awesome job remastering these discs, but unfortunately 12 out of 21 discs had either disc 1 (movie), 2 (special features) or both significantly scratched. Sent for an exchange, so will see how the new set works out....more info
  • Excellent deal.
21 Films in one edition, it's great and the special features are great as well. My set had a serious flaw on the disc for GoldenEye but I'm sure they'll replace that one disc for me (I hope). Also, it would be nice if they had Casino Royale matching the same format as the rest of the discs and with the special features, other than that it's great....more info
  • James Bond - The basics
The packaging leaves a lot to be desired but the Ultimate Collectors Set remains the easiest way of getting the bulk of the Bond films in one fell swoop. Presumably, after a few more films have been released and gone to DVD, there will be another "complete" set but until then, this seems to be the best way to go. ...more info
  • James Bond 007 Ultimate DVD Collector's Set
This collection (with every official 007 movie from Dr. No to Casino Royale and the special features disk, making this a 42 disk set) would be great for anyone who is a James Bond fan but does not have the entire collection. The picture quality on these movies has been re-mastered and looks great (although I cannot compare these to the Blu-Ray editions as I do not have a Blu-Ray player), and the sound is amazing as well. I have not viewed any of the Special Features yet, so I cannot comment on those.

One downfall that I can see to this set is that the Casino Royale seems to be tacked on with the rest of the set. The box art does not match the rest of the DVDs in the collection. Another is that while some of these films take up an entire widescreen TV, others have the black boxes at the top and bottom. Even after finding these things out after I purchased the product, I was still very impressed with the set, and would purchase it again as well as recommend it to anyone that was looking into purchasing a James Bond DVD collection.

  • Nice all-in-one set, but...
The box is very nice, but I always take mine out of the commercial packaging and put the discs in a notebook. For me the packaging is a bit lavish. Also, the latest Bond DVD is just stuck in with the others in a separate package, not integrated with the others. I owned the original VHS tapes and wanted to own the DVDs because of the superior quality....more info
  • Your 007 fix all in one nice looking box
I had only seen the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig films before buying this set back in February of this year, so I was interested in seeing all the older Bond films. I really liked almost every single one, which surprised me. Bond movies are just so much fun.

The video and audio transfers are remastered beautifully. No need to buy the Blu-ray versions, which I read are a little better, but not worth the extra money if you can get this set at a good price. I paid $145.00 for it, but it was on sale on amazon for $89.99 a few days ago. Keep a look out for price drops on this one.

You can call me a true 007 fan, now that I've seen all 22 flicks (I saw Quantum of Solace last weekend and I don't count the Never Say Never Again remake). My only gripe is that the films are not boxed in the order they were released. Not a big deal, but it would have made the set a tad more professional....more info
  • Well Worth The Money
This set includes the four box sets that have been released over the last couple of years and the double-disc widescreen edition of Casino Royale. The cases are the same slim cases included in the set. The special features are worth it. They included making of specials, programs on the major players in the franchise, and other interesting material. Music Videos come with all the James Bond movies from For Your Eyes Only to The World Is Not Enough. My only complaint is that the second disc for Die Another Day is pretty sparse when it comes to special features. The box says that trailers are included and other features but they are not. All of the movies are excellently remastered. Included in the special features of Dr. No is a special that explains the process. This is the type of box set more studios should be doing with the exception of the slim cases which are fragile....more info

  • Expired coupons and confusing movie order
I couldn't pass up the $95 price on this set, widescreen or not. Sadly, not.

The restored footage looks great. There are no annoying un-skippable ads in front of the top menu.

The movie coupons were expired when they arrived, perhaps this was the reason for the sale price.

One thing I don't understand is the order that the films are in the boxes. Fleming's original novel order? They're not chronological, or alphabetical, so...? Very strange.

Overall, excellent value for the price we paid.

  • buy the ultimate editions separately! much cheaper!
this one star is not for the product itself but the price!
if you buy each of the four ultimate editions separately it would be around $104 since their just over $25 apiece here on amazon
add the 2 disc casino royale which is $9 and youve got the whole package for $113 instead of over $218 that they are charging for this set!

its ridiculous, this should be a better value, not a worse one...more info
  • Wish I had bought 3 more.
I bought this collection on the one day email special in March for $89.99. I wish I had bought three more for friends. I love the packaging...YES! I cannot believe all these people complaining about this in their reviews. I thought it was very nice packaging but I focused my attention on the quality of the movies with their restoration. I have viewed them and if you love Bond this is a must. I saw my first Bond movie..Goldfinger in 1964 with my Dad. This collection is well done and it will make a very nice gift for your buddies. I will buy more when Amazon runs the email special again. I did enjoy the reviews at Amazon..many of them loved this collection like me...for those of you who have complained about the packaging...you are wrong! ...more info
  • A must have collection for 007 geeks..
I have since my early childhood been a great fan of the James Bond movies. Sure they are sometimes over the top, but that's exactly what James Bond is all about imho.

This Ultimate Collectors set has all the movies, in a rather cheap packaging, but my main focus is on the content and not the packaging. The movies are all in pristine technical quality - some of course are better than others - with "Casino Royale" as my favorite and "Diamonds are forever" as a close second.

I have yet to go through all the 21 extra bonus DVD's, so those I can't comment on yet.

I would definitely recommend this box set to all true OO7 fans....more info

  • Can't stop watching!
I bought this as a gift to for my husband for our anniversary. He absolutely loved it and we have watched Bond movies almost every night since. The only draw back is that it doesn't include Quantum of Solace. Nevertheless, it is still well worth the money. An added benefit is that it comes with a slue of different subtitles. My in-laws are Chinese and were worried about how they were going to spend the evenings here. James Bond solved that with Chinese subtitles. They loved the shows as much as we did. We "regrouped" our set once it came. We grouped them in order and according to who played Bond. This was a great buy....more info
  • James Bond Ultimate Collector Set (with Number 21)
I have thus far viewed 10 of the 20 films in the original volumns and am very pleased. I take about 8 or 9 hours per movie. Supplementary material, the real reason I get these collections, has been outstanding: background and interviews. The 21st film is included in this boxed set along with the four five-movie volumns. I can appreciate the frame by frame restorations when I compare them with the quality of the original trailers included. So far no damaged or mis-manufactured discs....more info

  • The definitive DVD Bond Set (before Blu ray)
This is the definitive James Bond collection set. All of the movies are remastered and each includes a bonus disk. These are basically all the movies that you'd get in the individual sets and includes all the movies except Quantum of Solace.

This review is intended for those of you who might have grown up, like me, watching James Bond movies on television. I must say that I was stunned when I put in the DVDs from this set. What I found was that the TV versions of the movies had been trimmed and cut for commercials and the TV movies were not the enhanced editions. What I found was that the movies from this set had much richer colors and that they contained so many scenes that had been cut from the TV editions that it was almost like I was watching an entirely new James Bond.

It was a real pleasure getting these and watching these. I have to say that this is probably one of the best exports from Great Britain. Without a doubt the Broccoli family who owns the franchise has their finger on the pulse of the American public and has adjusted the James Bond character to be appealing to the audience of the times.

Its virtually impossible to write a short review about this series because there are so many movies that stretch over several generations. If you don't know, James Bond is 007, one of the Double "Os," which are Great Britain's highest level operatives in MI-6 (an organization that is so secret that it encourages British nationals to apply but to never tell anyone that they've applied), Great Britain's equivalent to the Directorare of Operations within the CIA. In effect the Double "O's" have license to kill in the service of the Crown if they deem it necessary. James Bond is 007 and the most famous of the Double O agents who always gets involved in the highest level cases.

The themes to the movies are pretty standard: Huge Odds (earth threatening sometimes, Cold Warish, Nuclear, terroist, Technological, Madman etc) + Gorgeous Women + Exotic locations around the world + Alcohol + Gambling + Smoking + High Technology + Cool Cars + Gorgeous Women + a Tuxedo + Sense of Duty + Double Agents + CIA agents + Guns + Lots of Action + Some S*x + Romantic settings and you get a James Bond Movie.

James Bond has been played through the ages by several actors who reflect the culture and "coolness" of the era...sophistication of Tuxedos, martinis and high end gambling casinos in the 1960s to Rippled Musclebound Thug Stud in the 2000s. To me though, I prefer my Bond sophisticated and debonaire vs the almost thuglike and (transporter stathamlike) qualities that the newest bond has -- but the new Bond is a hit with the younger people (they got it right). To me though Sean Connery will always be the perfect Bond and I must say that Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore kept enough of the suave sophistication to the character that was very appealing to me.

Still -- Bond will always live forever and I'm glad I have the set.

Blu-ray will likely be released at some point in the future but I have to say that this DVD set is masterful....more info
  • Awesome - but there are some issues.
I was able to purchase this at a shockingly low price during one of Amazon's sales. What a steal. Each film is beautifully remastered, packed with extras and well presented.

The only complaint I will bring up concerning this set; and I bring it up with sufficient reguriative force to vomit a gopher through a plexi-glass window, is the packaging. What ham-handed git thought it would be a good idea to mix and match bond eras in the packaging? Forcing you to dig like a pig after truffles for the next film in the series. Chide me for being lazy if you like; teeth are overrated anyway. It would have been far bettter to just throw them in the box, in order; and ditch the excessive, extra packaging.

Having popped that particular puss filled, bile-boil, I will continue to hearily endorse this set. Great movies; great value.

    And Scaramanga shot first.

Awesome stunt work @ start! Near 4 star technically good movie, a bit soggy at the end romance wise with an explanation and no spikes in overall enjoyment. • Great set
This is a great product especially for $90 as a gold box deal. As far as the set goes, I don't like how the dvds are arranged out of order, but I understand how it is meant to sell more individual box sets as not everyone likes all of the bond films. Another thing about the dvds that is annoying is that there is a couple-minute-long advertisement clip for how these films were digitally restored. I can understand this once, or on one of the bonus discs to explain the process, but does it really have to pop up for every dvd in the collection?...more info

This set is an excellent choice for the Bond lover. I hadn't purchased any of the other collections or individual films, so this was the best way for me at least. It has all existing 21 EON bond films.

time special deal of the entire collection for under $100 I had to get it!So when the cold winter comes a knockin I fully intend to kick back, pop some popcorn and enjoy all 21 of the James Bond movies.

    Dr. No (1962)
The Bond series got off to a fine start with 1962's "Dr. No." Connery WAS Bond from the very first scene in the film. Despite a slow plot, the action sequences and supporting cast (including Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder in a stellar performance) make up for it. Overall, this is a fine beginning to one of film's most enduring franchises.

    From Russia With Love (1963)
Sean Connery's second outing as James Bond is one of the best in the series. Intense action sequences, exotic locales, and beautiful women are all featured in what was to be just a taste of things to come. Connery proves that he is Bond with this picture. Robert Shaw ("Jaws") is very convincing as the villain who's almost unbeatable. Daniela Bianchi is among the most beautiful of the Bond women, and gives a fantastic performance.

    Goldfinger (1964)
Sean Connery's third film as Bond set the stage for the Bond films to come. Although "Dr. No" and "From Russia with Love" were successful, it was this film that set the standard for each film. From the first exciting pre-credits sequence, to the exciting climax, "Goldfiner" offers intense action sequences, beautiful women, and two of the most popular villains in movie history. Sean Connery delivers another great performance as Bond, proving that he had a great handle on the character. If it wasn't for this film, it's possible that the series would never have become as popular, or lasted as long, as it has.

    Thunderball (1965)
Sean Connery's fourth outing as James Bond is one of the best in the series. Thrilling underwater sequences are at the heart of this exhilarating action film. The acting is great, and the storytelling is fantastic.

    You Only Live Twice (1967)
This film features a fantastic plot, great action sequences and visual effects, extremely beautiful women, and some of the most exotic locales in the history of the franchise, "You Only Live Twice" was Bond at his best in the 1960's. This was Sean Connery's last consecutive film as Bond, and it remains Connery's best.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
After Sean Connery left the role after "You Only Live Twice," Australian George Lazenby took over in a fantastic, exciting film. Lazenby was a good choice to follow Connery, giving 007 a more emotional edge that makes his performance one of the best. Diana Rigg is great as Tracy, bringing both sex appeal and edge to the Bond girls. Telly Savalas may not be as menacing as Donald Pleasance had been, but his performance as Blofeld is very good. The action sequences are fantastic, and the plot is one of the most interesting. It's sad that this was Lazenby's only film, but he did give us one of the best Bond films ever!

    Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
When George Lazenby left the series after filming his only entry in the series ("On Her Majesty's Secret Service"), Sean Connery was wooed back to the role for one more official entry as Bond. While Connery once again does as excellent job as 007, the film itself is slightly disappointing. While the film features excellent action sequences, the story gets a bit bizarre, and the storytelling seems a bit thin at times. While Jill St. John is beautiful, she is slightly annoying as Tiffany Case. Charles Gray isn't as sinister as Blofeld, a character made creepy by both Donald Pleasance ("You Only Live Twice") and Telly Savalas ("On Her Majesty's Secret Service"). Still, Sean Connery's presence makes up for the films weaknesses.

    Live And Let Die (1973)
This is Roger Moore's debut as James Bond is, without a doubt, the most bizarre of the Bond films. Sadly, it doesn't work that well all the time. The settings are almost too out there, and the voodoo element just feels out of place in a Bond film. The action sequences are great, and Jane Seymour is a beautiful and sensuous Bond girl.

The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
Roger Moore had a sly since of humor, but could still come off as a tough man you wouldn't want to mess with. His second film in the series, "The Man With the Golden Gun," is a fun adventure film with great action, a terrific villain (played by Christopher Lee in one of his best performances), and even more beautiful women. The weaknesses in the story are made up for by the terrific performances of Moore and Lee.

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
Roger Moore's third outing as Bond, "The Spy Who Loved Me" is memorable for thrilling action sequences, massive sets, Jaws, and great performances by Moore and Barbara Bach. Despite some weak story elements, this film is a thrilling adventure that is truly exciting.

    Moonraker (1979)
Considered by many to be the "What the Heck" of the Bond movies, "Moonraker" is better than it's given credit for. However, that does not make it a great film. In an attempt to latch on to the sci-fi bandwagon after "Star Wars" blazed a trail for the genre, the film just goes too far "out there." A great first half is nearly ruined by a ludicrous climax. Still, Roger Moore still proved he had what it takes to play Bond, and delivers some very funny lines. The visual effects are spectacular. But the movie is a wacky film, and Lois Chiles, though very beautiful, sadly lacks any acting talent. Overall, this is definitely one of the worst Bond films. But the funny part is this: until 1995's "Goldeneye," this remained the most successful of the Bond films.

    For Your Eyes Only (1981)
This film features Roger Moore at his best. He proved that he was indeed Bond, James Bond. The great action sequences and fantastic locations were in top form. Carole Bouquet is very exotic as Melina, and Julian Glover is one of the best villains ever. All of these elements, along with humor and plot, help to make this the best of the Bonds.

    Octopussy (1983)
Roger Moore's next to last Bond film, sadly features an uninteresting plot. Despite Moore's trademark style as Bond, beautiful women, and terrific action sequences, the film lacks a powerful punch, and the main villain is quite dull.

    A View To A Kill (1985)
This is the last film to feature Roger Moore as 007, "A View to a Kill" gives Roger Moore an exciting send-off. Christopher Walken gives a good performance as Max Zorin. Grace Jones is one of the most unique villains in Bond history as May Day, a woman who is both sensuous and dangerous. The only problem with the film is some hokey action sequences, and Tanya Roberts is a bit annoying in this film. But overall, this is a great farewell to the actor that feel was my favorite James Bond.

    The Living Daylights (1987)
After Roger Moore had finished his tenure as James Bond with "A View to a Kill," Timothy Dalton replaced him in the next film, "The Living Daylights." Timothy Dalton gives the character a slight facelift, bringing a bit more grit to the role that was missing from the Moore era. The film features some of the greatest action sequences of the series, and terrific performances by Dalton, Jeroen Krabbe, Maryam d'Abo, and John Rhys-Davies. This film proved that their was still life in the franchise, and gave us one of the best entries in the series.

    License To Kill (1989)
The last film to star Timothy Dalton as 007, "Licence to Kill" is a disappointing sendoff for the fourth actor to play James Bond. Despite a great performance by Dalton, the film does not have the look and feel of a Bond film. Rather, it feels like just a regular action film. The film is also too dark, and the violence is a bit over the top at times. If this hadn't been a "Bond" film, this might been given an R-rating. It was because of this film that the Dalton era came to an abrupt end. Despite thrilling action sequences and beautiful women, "Licence to Kill" fails to deliver.

    Goldeneye (1995)
The action sequences, beautiful women, exotic locations, and a fine performance by Sean Bean Help keep this film from being a bad one. The plot itself is not that great, but keeps you interest most of the time. Pierce Brosnan plays James bond well enough to be likeable in the part.

    Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
The Bond film that shared the same release date as James Cameron's "Titanic," "Tomorrow Never Dies" is the second Bond film to star Pierce Brosnan, whom I felt did a pretty good job playing James Bond. Like "Octopussy," the film's fantastic action sequences, exotic locales, and beautiful women are sometimes over shadowed by a mediocre plot at best. Jonathan Price, although a very good actor, is a bit over the top in this film, and the plot of a man's plans to start World War III to achieve ratings for his news network is a bit laughable at times.

The World Is Not Enough (1999)
With his third entry in the series, "The World in Not Enough," Pierce Brosnan does manage to turn in a decent performance in what is his best film in the series. This film offers some great action, a decent plot, thrilling visual effects, great villains, and two of the hottest Bond girls ever. Sophie Marceau is both sexy and sinister as Elektra King, proving a woman can be as good of a villain as any man can. Denise Richards is hot as well, but not in it for too long.

    Die Another Day (2002)
Celebrating forty years of Ian Fleming's James Bond 007, "Die Another Day" presents the fourth and final film to star Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. The film delivers great action sequences, beautiful women, great villains, and an interesting plot. The film's weakness, however, is that it relies too heavy on visual effects, like "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker" before it. Some of the CG effects are too obvious, and it sometimes detracts from the film. But despite this drawback, "Die Another Day" is a fine tribute to the Bond films before it, and gives Brosnan an exciting, epic send-off.

    Casino Royale (2006)
After Pierce Brosnan left the role of James Bond, it was time for James Bond to be slightly reinvented. Enter "Casino Royale," the first Bond film to be based on an Ian Fleming novel since 1987's "The Living Daylights." Fan expectations were high, to say the least. Would Daniel Craig be as good as those before him? Could they change the format and stick true to the Bond mythos?

After seeing the film, I was pleasantly surprised! Daniel Craig does a fine job as James Bond "Casino Royale" is a very good entry in the Bond franchise. The action sequences are fantastic, with very little use of CG effects. The plot and storytelling, missing from recent entries in the series, are both believable and exceptional. The many twists and turns will have you on the edge of your seat until it's exciting, emotional climax.

Daniel Craig makes a very good James Bond. He plays the part gritty and violent. You wouldn't want to get make him mad. He won't just punch you, he'll go all out on you. Daniel Craig also manages to give Bond a more emotional edge, making his version of the character the most compelling in a long while.

Eva Green is both smart, funny, and sexy as Vesper Lynd, one of the top 10 Bond girls ever. Mads Mikkelsen is truly sinister as Le Chiffre, but also brings a bit of humanity to the role, making his villain one of the most compelling. Jeffrey Wright and Judy Dench give great performances as well.

Casino Royale has helped resurrect the Bond franchise, and created breathed new life into the series....more info
