Product Description

Anthony Horowitz's enormously popular series about the world?s premier teenage spy, returns for another round with secret agent Alex Rider fighting ingenious villains and charming every girl he meets. Eagle Strike, Horowitz?s fourth fictional foray into the world of British spy agency MI6, starts out calmly enough as Alex and his lovely companion, Miss Sabina Pleasure, vacation with her family in the south of France. But before you can say Goldfinger, Alex spots his old nemesis, renowned assassin Yassen Gregorovich, on the beach. What Alex discovers is a plan so diabolical that it makes all of his previous adventures seem like a stroll in the Queen Mum?s garden. Alex must fight to keep Gregorovich from executing the plans of a mysterious and murderous madman--an operation code named "Eagle Strike." He will just have to face down a few minor complications first: a virtual reality game that inflicts real pain; a fleet of Porche 911 GT3-driving hit men; and even a near fatal brush with death aboard the most famous aircraft in the world, Air Force One. But he?ll persevere, or his name isn?t Rider: Alex Rider. Eagle Strike, like all of the ridiculously fun Alex Rider adventures, is a pure guilty pleasure from start to finish. Even the most reluctant of readers won?t be able to resist Alex?s Bond-like ingenuity and charisma. Anthony Horowitz is a master of pacing, and as Alex swings from one cliff-hanging chapter to the next, Horowitz proves that you don?t have to be Shakespeare to pen a crackerjack plot! --Jennifer Hubert

Anthony Horowitz is an excellent author that keeps you on your toes as you read each chapter. • Best book I've ever read
Bought this for my very active 12 year old (kiteboarding, surfing, skateboard, video game enthusiast, and musician) who has not been particularly enamored with reading--considers it "not fun" --like going to the dentist. He says he couldn't put it down. Read it in 4 days during the school week. Claims it's the best book he has ever read. Granted, hasn't read many, but getting him to enjoy a book this much is a major victory. He wants me to get all the books in this series....more info

  • Go read this book!
Eagle Strike, the fourth book in the Alex Rider series, was one of the best books I have ever read. I loved how it gave enough detail so you could get a good picture in your head. Some books give you so much detail that you're thinking "I really don't care just get on with it!" There is nothing boring about this book. The whole series is full of adventure. When I was reading this book, I literally could not put it down. Anthony Horowitz has a way of making you really care about the charactors. You can never tell what happens next. • Alex must dwindle in his relucatance to save a friend!
Alex Rider's most exciting mission, commences during her holiday in the South of France with his girl friend and her family, to the a mighty battle in the Prime Minister's aeroplane~Alex Rider, is once again determined to place his spying days at MI6 behind him, until he meets evil payed to kill, Yassen during his holiday in the south of France. From then on, Alex finds himself in the middle of a huge war, where a ruthless attack plunges his hosts into darkness. But MI6 never listen to him, especially when he tells them celebrity, Damian Cray may be the planner of this great and mighty attack.

Alex Rider's latest mission is one of the best in the series and has amzing characters and an intersting plot. Alex was once again brave and adventurous and this whole book was the bomb. It had attitude, plots, traps and murders and was everything that I dreamed it to be!

  • Anthony Horowitz ; Alex Rider
Another great Alex Rider fast paced ride. Alex has grown on me, I now hear we are going to get another, I really hope they make a film of Eagle Strike, this was a great novel. Alex hanging from a hot air ballon with one arm while kicking an attacker would be great to watch. Better than James Bond....more info

Could you imagine having a gun to your head and being on a plane with an assassin? Alex Rider has been. He is a spy that works for a group called M16 and was training with the S.A.S. Sabina is Alex's friend and when Alex is in trouble Sabina is there to help. Alex has been in a lot of situations with a gun to his head and he has always survives. The main maniac is Damian Cray. He said that he was trying to stop drug use was he ?.No he was trying to blow up half of the earth.
There also is a Russian man named Yassen Gregorovich. He helped Alex a lot of times escape even though he's a bad guy, he doesn't act like a bad guy. if he would save Alex's life I would consider him a good guy. Yassen told Alex that his dad was paid to kill people and how that he use to work with his father and how his father saved his life. Damian Cray is a man who likes to poison to kill people.
I would suggest this to people age 10 to 15 and people who like action and adventure thank you.

  • A Review for a Very Good Book
"Eagle Strike" is an amazing book. I have read it many times and every time it is just as intense as the time before. The book is very well-written, with graphic descriptions and intense sequences where you don't know what is going to happen next.
Alex Rider's resourcefulness is amazing and definitely very handy in tight spots, such as the time when he took wire and half a spear and tied it to look like he was impaled in order to trick the guards who were trying to kill him. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Another interesting aspect of the book is the villian. Damian Cray is a man who has good motives but bad ways of accomplishing them. He thinks that the ends justify the means, (spoiler alert) but using America's nuclear weapons to blow up all drugs isn't a very nice idea.
This book puts a new perspective on the life of a spy. To Alex, the people at MI6 are cold, manipulative people who will do anything to get their way, and they just want to use Alex to accomplish their dangerous missions. Also, any person in the organization is portrayed like other adults in the series and won't believe kids when they tell them that an extremely famous and influential person is an insane killer.
"Eagle Strike" and all the other books in the Alex Rider series are very well written, and I can't wait for the newest book to come out....more info
  • James Bond Junior
Eagle strike was probobly the best Alex Rider adventure I have read yet. The aurthors description of the characters and there surroundings gave me a clear immage of what might have accueally happened. My favorite scene in the book was the fight on the airplane, a person must be really brave in order to keep there cool during a brawl on a moving airplane while a hatch is hanging open. I also enjoyed the detal of things that would normally be kept governmentally secret (for example; the missle launching room hidden on board Air Force One. ...more info
  • The latest addition to the Alex Rider saga....
Eagle Strike marks the forth installment to the Alex Rider series. Like the other books in the series, Eagle Strike has your heart thumping at the turn of every page. The balance of action, suspense, and espionage is excellent. The book will leave you wanting to become a secret agent yourself. I loved reading the book, and I was sad when I was done reading it. As with all of the books in the series, I just wanted the story to continue. Once I picked up this book and started reading, I couldn't put it down! I think that this book would be an excellent gift, and if you're looking for something great and exciting to read, this would be it. The reading experience that comes out of this forth novel is exhilerating. I give Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz 5 stars without hesitation....more info
  • Eagle Strike Book Review
Eagle Strike is one of the best teen spy novels in a series of books written by Anthony Horowitz. It combines action across numerous European countries, celebrities who aren't what they seem, Air Force One, politics, and enough chase scenes to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. This undoubtedly one of the best Alex Rider adventures yet.
Alex is vacationing in France with Sabina, his new best friend, and her family, when the man he hates most, Russian contract killer Yassen Gragorovich, shows up to stir up trouble. Yassen, though, seems to be uninterested in Alex and doesn't even know he's in the area. However Alex, being a suspicious teenager, cannot help but get in Yassen's way. After going out one day after Yassen, Alex returns to find the house he's been staying in has been blown up, and Sabina's father is in intensive care. This leads to the discovery of a strange plot involving a famous singer, Damien Cray, who has developed the ultimate video game system called Gameslayer. This seems to be nothing more than a marketing move for Cray, but the more Alex Rider dives into this Gameslayer and spies on Damien Cray, the more sinister Cray's part in the events becomes.
This leads to Alex travelling around Europe with his trusty guardian Jack in search of the truth and the bad guys, but the bad guys find him first. Alex is stuck in the middle of a plan with deadly consequences. The world's most powerful celebrity has gotten control of the world's most dangerous weapons, and his intentions are unthinkable. A brilliant climax, Eagle Strike will have you on edge of your seat, waiting to know how the book ends, while learning about an explosive secret regarding Alex's history.

  • Eagle Strike is awesome!!!!
I read all of the Alex Riders (not including Snakehead)and Eagle Strike is the best. It has so much action from start to finish. The best part is when Alex is thrown into a real life replica of a violent video game. It's so good you won't be able to (willingly) put the book down....more info

  • Best Book Ever
This book is about an adventure with edge of your seat suspense. First Alex Rider starts out on vacation and then bam before you know it he's on a spy mission. He sneaks into a base on the side of a truck, saves the world, crashes Air Force One, plays in the new video game in a real life stuation, and is embarrassed in front of a huge crowd.
My favorite part of the book was when he faked the guards out and pretended that he died. They sent a clean up crew to clean his dead body but when they got there, he was gone. I also like the part when he almost suffocated but found a way out of the wall, and out of the base. I would recommend this book to people who like action or suspense in their reading.

In the book Eagle Strike, Alex Rider, a teenage MI6 agent, must save the world and his friend from the billionaire and pop star Damian Cray. Damian Cray is a humanitarian with a twisted view of saving the world from drugs. Damian Cray's plan to "save" the world from drugs by bombing all the major drug growing cities in the world with warheads, while killing thousands of innocent people at the same time. The most interesting part of the book is the climax, when Alex Rider has to stop the warheads that have already been fired off. There was no part of the book that was boring, though, because it always had a part that was exciting or riveting.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially teenagers, because they can relate to Alex's feelings. I don't think this book should be taught in school, though, because it has cuss words and there's more than enough violence in it.

I would give this book five out of five stars, because it kept me reading it all night, and it is also very well written. I have no complaints with this book, other than you have to wait for the next book in the Alex Rider Adventure

  • Full of Twists and Turns
Horowitz's Eagle Strike is yet another one of his famous adventures of young Alex rider. Like his previous books, Eagle Strike is full of exciting and unexpected twists and turns.

In this exciting adventure, Alex age 14, is finally taking a vacation after working for British intelligence MI6, with his friend Sabrina Pleasure. While at his leisure, Alex spots one of his mortal enemies Yassen Gregorovich on a private yacht next to the beach. Alex makes it his business to find out what Yassen is up to. Coincidentally, Sabrina's father was involved in an "accident". As Alex tries to find the connection between these events, he stumbles upon a phone number that belongs to the multimillionaire vintage pop star / world activist / philanthropist Damian Cray. It is now up to Alex to convince the world that Cray is a madman bent on world destruction before time runs out.

Eagle strike is full of suspense from cover to cover . This is truly one of Horowitz's best novels in the Alex Rider adventures. This book also contains an exciting chapter of the next book in the series Scorpia which is the final book in Horowitz's teen spy adventures. I would recommend this book for teens ages 12-14.
