Customer Reviews:

  • Great pot
We really like this pot - I bought it to boil pasta, but have used it to make chili and other large quantity foods. I love the handles on the pot and the lid that make it so easy to work with since they don't get hot. The pot itself is a nice size to large quantities and because it is wide instead of high, there's a lot more surface area to heat up quickly.

I totally recommend this pot to everyone....more info
  • Great for pasta, soups and stews
I got this because I saw Rachel use it on her food network show. I watched her show occasionally and I like her and some of her ideas although I am not a devoted follower.

I like having a big heavy duty nonstick pot for pasta and it works great for cooking soups and stews. I have stainless steel cookware and compared to my stainless steel pots this is functional and easy to clean. The oval shape is easier to handle compared to a big round tall pot, the dome shaped lid allows more cooking flexibility, it conducts heat well and Anolon makes quality cookware. I also purchased the 5-quart Oval Saute pan and the lids are inter-changeable. This is great for the times you don't need a lid that is domed and taller, has a vent, and you need to see the dish you are cooking.

I like the looks of this line better than her other line with the safety orange handles. That line has the same pot with a flatter glass top with no vent and it is called an 8-quart oval stock pot.

I watched the price for a while before I made a purchase. The price on this pot went up and down; as high as $99.00 and as low as $66.88. A friend who is a longtime Amazon shopper suggested putting it in my cart and waiting until it hit a good price to purchase it I did, I got it at a good price and I am happy.

So this is a great pot heavy duty and cleans easy. If you are a Rachel Ray fan but not into her line of pots with handles the same color of orange construction cones this is a great choice....more info
  • Rachael Ray Strikes Again!

Okay, I'm not a big fan of product hawked by celebs, but RR could sell me a push pop in the dead of winter - and my wife loves the show. (Obviously, we watch Rache for different reasons!) One day while watching RR cook her pasta my wife remarked how cool she thought the pot was. Hopeless romantic that I am, I made a mental note of it and checked the FN website for the exact item. After finding the make and model I surfed the web for pricing and availability and found an Amazon vendor had the best price AND free DHL shipping. Woo-hoo for cheapo me!

Oh yeah, what about the pot. As cheap as I am, I *have* splurged for some name-brand cookware like Calphalon and this pot. You know what? It's true what they say, having the right tools makes the job go smoother. This pot allows all KINDS and SHAPES of pasta to be cooked without having to break it down, including lasagna noodles. It is well balanced and the vent holes work well to let you know when the water is boiling without having to constantly open the lid (a bad habit of mine). The pour spout allows for quick drainage while allowing the lid to stay intact, saving the pasta from the sink drain (much to my dog's chagrine). The "non-safety cone orange handle" version (i.e. e.g. black) looks great too. The pot also is handy for cooking all sorts of other foods, like capusel, haggas, and chicken lips. (Seriously though, it IS good for other foods.) All-in-all a well-made piece of cooking equipment that is worth the price. My only qualm (and the reason for not-quite-5-stars): it seems to take FOREVER for water to boil in this thing! (I cook on propane, don't know if that matters, but if you have patience - I don't my family will attest - then this baby's a homerun!)

  • Must have
I ordered this for my mother in law and she loves it. It's not as deep as the spaghetti cookers (dutch ovens), but still holds 8 quarts. Makes it easier to stir contents and to serve out of. I am going to buy one of these for myself....more info

  • I Went Directly To Seller
Pot arrived here without the 3 holes in the lid. I contacted the seller directly and they replaced the pot emidiately with a lid which has the three holes. Go and buy the ANOLON version of this pot, the UP handles are MUCH better than the R.Ray pot....more info
