The SPECO CVC-960IR Weatherproof Color Bullet Camera with IR LEDs is great for any application in which extremely low-light conditions may at times prevail. This camera comes with 48 IR (infrared) LEDs (light-emitting diode) built in, and automatically switches from color to B/W (black-and-white) for nighttime viewing. Designed to provide a high-resolution picture even in the lowest-light conditions, the SPECO CVC-960IR is a great addition to any video surveillance system, especially in round-the-clock applications subject to inclement weather conditions.

Securely set into a weatherproof housing, the CVC-960IR bullet camera utilizes a 0.25-inch color CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor with a 3.6-millimeter auto-iris lens, and achieves a high resolution of 350 horizontal TVL (TV lines). Already very sensitive to light with a minimum illumination of one Lux in color to infinity, this camera's 48 IR LEDs operate on a 840 NM (nanometer) wavelength and allow it to receive a picture in total darkness (0 Lux) in B/W up to 60 feet away. The SPECO CVC-960IR includes a fan that automatically turns on when IR LEDs are in operation, and runs on a regulated 12-volt DC power supply. The CVC-960IR comes complete with automatic white balance and backlight compensation, and a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second.

    Technical Features:

    • Minimum illumination: 1 Lux in color to infinity; 0 Lux in B/W via IR LEDs to 60-feet
    • Lens: 3.6mm auto-iris
    • Horizontal resolution: 350 TVL
    • IR LEDs: 48 PCS at 840 NM
    • Dimensions: 3 x 7.25 inches (diameter x depth)
The SPECO CVC-960IR camera provides you with a high-quality color picture from a camera that can go virtually anywhere, and deserves serious consideration as an addition to any severe-weather security system. The CVC-960IR comes completely assembled and ready to use, and includes cable routing through the mount as an added protection against vandalism. Users should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

    About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

    Customer Reviews:
    • Good Camera
I have owned many IR Color Cameras over the last few years. I live in an area of some extreme weather conditions and most cameras have failed within a short persiod of time. When I pulled this camera from the box I knew it was different, it has a solid build and professional weatherproofing. The camera mount is also very heavy duty and easy to work with. The picture is outstanding both day and night. Now I only hope it will stand the test of time and elements. Stay tuned....more info
