Product Description

The Hamilton Beach Panini Press Gourmet Sandwich Maker is an excellent appliance to have on hand to make grilled cheese and other hot sandwiches. Every deli sandwich tastes better hot and with melted cheese. This Panini Press can handle sandwiches of any size.

Create delicious, deli-like panini at home with this gourmet sandwich press from Hamilton Beach. Designed to accommodate everything from single-slice ham sandwiches to piled-high turkey grinders, the grill heats ingredients, melts cheese, and creates a crispy outer crust. The floating lid slides and swivels for the right fit and locks into position with a side dial. The locking function is also handy for keeping the lid upright if you want to make open face snacks or clean the grill plates. Roomy and ribbed, the grill plates measure 12 by 8-1/2 and are coated with a wipe-down nonstick coating.

Stable on its four feet, the press has gleaming chrome housing and durable plastic accents. A side clamp locks it shut between uses, so you can choose from upright or horizontal storage—a thoughtful feature for the space-efficient kitchen. Two indicator lights signal power and preheating, and the whole unit measures 13-1/2 by 11-1/2 by 4. Hamilton Beach includes a two-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

  • Does what it's supposed to do
We bought this for my husbands mom, for Christmas, and she says it's working fine. No frills, but it works so that's good. :)...more info
  • Great Panini Press/Grill
Got this item a few weeks ago. Easy to use, easy to clean. You don't need any special recipe books - any meat, chesse or fridge leftovers will do. You may want to heat up the meat and cheese for 15 seconds or so in the m-wave if you have thick bread or are using alot of "stuffings". The ready light on ours is a little hard to see but if you look closely you can tell when it it heated up and ready to go. I found that using a cheap paint brush (which is what I use for slapping sauces on grilled foods) works great for getting off the left over crumbs when the unit is cooled. ENJOY!!...more info
  • Panini Press
Worked pretty well just like i thought it would. The george foreman can also do the same thing or even better i find and it is a lot more versatile. The temperature of this grill is quite high and it toasted the bread very well while the inside was steaming hot. Well designed product overall....more info
  • Excellent product at a great price!
I purchased the Hamilton Beach panini maker after my friend prepared a sandwich for me on her's. She's had her HB panini maker since Christmas and her family has thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, they have a once-a-week panini night, where everyone makes his own sandwich and they take turns using the grill. I have had mine for about a month. It is only designed for sandwiches, so it's not a multi-purpose grill. The grids do not remove, but are easy to wipe down with a soapy sponge. Nothing sticks, including cheese. My neighbor prepared me for the fact that some meats, veggies, etc. (not cheese) are best pre-warmed in the microwave for a minute or less prior to being placed between the bread, as thick sandwiches may not get hot in the center, even though the bread is grilled to perfection. I find that a very, very thin coating of butter on the outside of the bread makes for the best grilled sandwich. We have used our panini grill a couple times a week since acquisition, with great results. I will caution folks to only use a tiny amount of soap on your sponge when you wipe down the grill, as it can be difficult to remove the soap from the grid valleys. My friend says she just removes the food particles and lets the grill's heat do the sterilization the next time she uses it.... The HB panini grill folds compactly and clamps closed so it can be stored vertically. It can hold two sandwiches at once, and I let it recover its heat for about a minute in between batches. It's attractive, simple, and very inexpensive. I have tried making paninis on my multi-purpose (George Foreman) grill, but they just don't come out right; plus the grids aren't close enough together to get that nice crunchy bread that you get from a dedicated panini grill. I highly recommend this grill, without reservation....more info

works great - but not easy to clean. I guess you get what you pay for...more info
  • Great!!! and a Great price.
A friend made sandwiches with hers, and they were GREAT..So I went to look for one, and you cannot believe the price on them..also it has a knob at the side that you can make it as flat as you want. I have the George Forman interchangable grill that is great for everything else, but it can't make a Panini like the Hamilton Beach 25450. Absolutly love it.....more info
  • The Proof is in the Pudding (or sandwich)
I purchased the Hamilton Beach Panni Maker for our children for Christmas. They recently invited us over for dinner and made sandwiches with it and they were very good. My husband ate two and enjoyed both of them immensly. Our Son-in-law is the primary user of the sandwich maker and he loves it. ...more info

Excellent product - really like the feature that you can "lock" the lid in a semi-open position to top broil cheese on pizza, etc....more info
  • Perfect for the casual panini maker
I've used this several times and just got it about a month ago. It makes a great sandwich! I agree it'd be nice to have a temperature control, but honestly I've made sandwiches with white bread, sandwiches with "panini" rolls, and grilled baguettes, and it didn't burn any of the bread; just keep an eye on your sandwich! White bread obviously cooked quicker, but it was just as good as the panini roll. The grill takes a few minutes to heat up, but just prepare your sandwich while the grill is heating up, and by the time you're done, the grill is ready. Sandwiches won't stick if you spray some cooking oil on it, or put a little olive oil on the surface. I did that the first time I've used it and have had no problems since. I recommend this for the price, and if you are looking for a no-frills panini press for the at-home cook. ...more info
  • Better Than I Thought...
I thought my husband was crazy when he asked if I had ever though about getting a panini machine. I figured we'd use it once and that would be the end of it. However, I've found that since it so easy and stores so nicely, we use it a lot more often that I thought.

It's easy to use and easy to clean...just wipe it with a damp cloth once you're done using it. I'm sure some of the more expensive versions with removable grill plates would have been nice, but I opted for a less expensive machine based on the thought that it was going to end up eternally on a shelf collecting dust.

If you're looking for a panini press that is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store and fits in your budget...this is the one....more info

  • The BEST Sandwich Maker EVER !!!!!!!!
If anyone is wondering if this is worth getting, Trust me it is!!!!! I'm a stay at home wife who loves to cook for my hubby, and one of his favorite meals are subs or sanwiches that are grilled or toasted, sometimes when I'm away he will go to Safeway and pay 5 to 8 bucks for a panini, so I thought I would see if there was something I could buy that would give the same result as a store bought sandwich only way cheaper, this panini press is the answer!!! This thing works great and is SOOO simple to use, way easier that trying to grill in a skillet where you have to try flipping a loaded sandwich! Just plug in, heat up and you're good to go. I have made dozens of different sandwiches and all have come out perfectly toasted and cheese melted all the way through, I have had ZERO complaints with this and although reading some of the other reviews ,people saying is burns the bread and such I was a little leary 'but dont believe it for a second, I have had nothing close to burnt, EVER! Give it a try, my husband and I are so glad we did, ( our favorite is rye bread with bbq sauce , chedder , ham and olive oil on the bread to keep it from sticking and to crisp it right up) Sooooo yummy!...more info
  • Disappointing.
The press did make delicious sandwiches. Until the spring broke and the nonstick liner started coming off on the sandwiches. We only had it about 2 months before we had to throw it away. Very disappointing....more info
  • Excellent Product
I have been using this for the past two week, and it's an excellent piece of work! I would have preferred if the plates could be removed, but it's still very easy to clean....more info
  • good and bad ..
this was a gift from my daughter, who knew i wanted a pannini grill .. the worst feature is that you cannot remove the plates to clean them properly .. the best is that the top locks into place so you can prevent smooshing your sandwiches ..
if used just for panninis, this is such a nice item and the price is even better now that it is lowered to 28$ ..
but, still, it is a pain to clean if you grill anything other than just a sandwich (chicken, steak .. ) ...more info
  • Love it!
I picked this up thinking it would be great to make paninis at home since my kids and husband are huge panini fans. I especially like the locking feature and usually start with the bread open faced with the cheese on one slice and the meat on the other to get the insides warmed up. Then I put the sandwich together, release the lock and finish grilling with the top resting on the bread. Nice and warm through and through....more info
  • Great Product
I love this press. I end up using it about 3 or 4 times a week. Very easy to work with and clean. I a like being able to store it in its upright position....more info
  • great panini press
i'll bet i have made about 400 paninis with this product so far and it still rocks. it's solid, simple and does what it's suppose to do...more info
  • This panini maker is GREAT!!
I bought, tried and returned 2 other machines before reluctantly trying this one last time! (the delonghi, with no adjustable rear end, very important and the cuisinart, the removable surfaces do not get hot enough)

I am not sorry in the least. It is great, makes great sandwiches and is easy to use and clean up.

It is not fancy with lots of bells and whistles but I found that it does just fine.

The temp gage is not adjustable, but is hot enough to grill a perfect grilled cheese. The adjustable rear end is very important as it cooks evenly and can be screwed down to hold the sand. in place.

The cleanup is simple if you moisten a wash cloth and put it on the hot grill when finished, it steams it clean!

I highly recommend this machine....more info
  • A good kitchen work horse
After foolishly buying the George Foreman 360 grill, which I tossed in the trash after two uses, I did my homework and bought this Hamilton Beach press. The machine is not perfect (no on/off switch, no thermostat controls), but it works and works consistently. I'm an experienced cook and I use it several times a week. The cooking surface heats evenly and the floating top is great for thick sandwiches. Further, the cooking surfaces are easy to clean, and after hours and hours of use remain in good condition. (I don't understand why some complain of the Teflon surface deteriorating.) If the cooking surfaces are preheated per directions, thick interiors of pesto, chicken and cheese heat thoroughly without the bread being burned. This is a good "no frills" product that is reliable, easy to use and easy to clean....more info
  • good product
I'm enjoying my panini press -- it's much easier to make a panini sandwich with the press than it was with a skillet and spatula. The only thing I don't like about it is that the "ready" light doesn't glow bright enough for me to see easily unless I'm standing right over the appliance....more info
  • Christmas gift gone good!
I got this for my brother for Christmas this year. He really liked it and I'm pretty sure it's still working. He made some great sandwiches, but I was more impressed with the price. For something as specific as this product, I would rather only pay 30-40 dollars, rather than the $80.00 that the other ones are. So, great price, great product. No frills, but it works....more info
