Product Description

The Remmington Security 02742 Color Camera with 2-way Intercom provides a high-quality image from an compact camera, with a control box that supports up to two cameras for system expansion. With features such as a built-in PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor to alert you of camera activity, the Remmington Security 02742 is a good addition to any compatible observation system.

The 02742's camera is protected by a weather-resistant housing for outdoor applications, and achieves a horizontal resolution of 330 TVL (TV lines) down to a minimum illumination of two Lux. This unit's PIR sensor can activate an alarm sound when motion is detected, or this function can be switched off to cover areas where there is frequent movement. The 02742 system includes audio/video outputs from the control box for connecting to most any standard TV, VCR or monitor, and a built-in speaker and microphone for two-way intercom-style communication between the control box and a camera location. The 02742 control box includes a seven-pin mini-DIN to RCA connecting cable and measure 5.5 x 1.5 x 3.5 (W x D x H), while the camera measures 4 x 2.125 x 3.25 inches (W x D x H) and includes a 60-foot six-pin mini-DIN connecting cable and power supply. Though the Remmington Security 02742 comes with one camera, the control box can support an additional camera for system expansion. Users should note that the image sensor in this camera may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

Weather-resistant color camera features a 2-way intercom for communication between control box and camera. Control box plugs into a TV or monitor and accepts up to 2 cameras. High-resolution, wide-angle camera has a built-in PIR motion sensor and speaker that sounds an alarm when motion is detected. Includes adjustable self-mounting bracket. For indoor/outdoor use.
