Product Description

The Remmington Security 00790 900 MHz Wireless B/W Monitor with Night Vision Camera provides convenience and quality in a complete system. This system allows you to view multiple camera locations sequentially in real-time in a full-screen display. Featuring IR (InfraRed) illuminators for nighttime applications and wireless technology for when you can't run cables, the Remmington Security 00790 is a complete, self-contained expandable observation system perfect for your home or small-business applications.

The 00790's five-inch black-and-white picture-tube monitor provides you with a crisp picture at 240 TVL (TV lines) horizontal resolution. This unit features built-in VCR jacks for recording purposes, and can be powered by either the built-in power supply or by 10 C batteries for true portability. The B/W wireless camera that comes with the 00790 utilizes the 900 MHz signal band to wirelessly transmit video to your monitoring station. This unit can receive a picture at a minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux for low-light conditions, and includes built-in IR LEDs (light-emitting diodes) for no-light (0 Lux) night-vision up to a limited distance. The 00790's camera is battery powered and runs on eight AA batteries.

Technical Features:

  • Signal frequency: 900 MHz
  • Image sensor: 0.33-inch B/W CCD
  • Sensitivity: 0.5 to infinity; 0 limited distance via IR LEDs
  • Camera support capacity: up to 2 cameras
  • Monitor dimensions: 9 x 13.25 x 8.75 inches (W x D x H)
Designed primarily for indoor use, the Remmington Security 00790 offers you everything you need in a basic surveillance system. Though only one camera is included, the 00790 allows up to two cameras to be controlled, viewed, and recorded all by a single unit. This system is intended for use with a professional security recorder, such as a time-lapse VCR or a DVR, in order to take advantage of its recording functionality. Users should note that the image sensor in this camera may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
