Product Description

Salton George Foreman GGR50 The George Foreman Indoor and Outdoor grill is the perfect year round grill. Easily converts from outdoor to indoor use. Easily converts from outdoor to indoor use 17.5" Diameter / over 240 square inch cooking surface Center channel drains fat into large grease tray Non-stick coated cooking surface Immersible with probe removed MegaDome lid with adjustable steam vent Adjustable temperature control Cool-touch handles 1600 watts

Grilling really can't get much easier than this. After assembling the grill (which takes only a few minutes), simply plug it in and allow about 10 minutes to fully preheat the surface while you gather your steaks, kebabs, or whatever's to be grilled. The electric heat has an adjustable range from low (for keeping food warm) to high (for searing steaks). The nonstick grill surface not only means you can use a minimum of added fat, but it also makes cleanup a cinch. The surface has a subtle slope, with channels that draw accumulated fat or other liquids into a tray just below the surface. The high domed and vented lid helps create a circular flow of hot air to ensure even cooking--particularly important for a large roast or whole chicken.

The grill can be placed either directly on a tabletop or atop its pedestal. On its own, the grill surface stands about 6 inches high; with the pedestal, it stands about 2-1/2 feet high, not counting the domed lid. The pedestal is plenty sturdy for cooking, but the grill still seems a bit top-heavy, so pay special attention if grilling in a high-traffic area or near kids. Because of the easy electric heat, this grill can be used outdoors or indoors--when using it indoors, though, be prepared for potential spattering, steam, or other side effects of cooking. --Cynthia Nims

  • No-fuss grilling made easy, for use indoors or outside
  • Grill can be used on pedestal (stands about -1/2 feet high) or on tabletop
  • Uses electric heat, with adjustable range from low to high
  • Sloping grate base draws fat away from food to collect in easy-to-empty tray
  • Grill top measures 17 inches across for generous cooking capacity

  • George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Grill
George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor Grill I received the George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Grill when it originally came out a few years ago. Moving from an upstairs apartment to a condominium, I cannot tell you how great it is, easy to clean, and can be stored/used outside in the winter months with a heavy-duty garbage bag tied at the bottom for easy access. This BBQ grill has lasted longer than any gas grill I've ever owned and is easy to maintain. The only problem I've had is losing the book when I moved.... ...more info
  • Not a real grill.
Imagine a big electric skillet with grooves. That's exactly what this is. Chicken is the worst on it, plus meat sticks. Don't buy this....more info
  • Fantastic George Foreman Grill
We have used the grill several times since it arrived and I must say that it has surpassed my expectations. It is great for barbeque chicken and ribs. We found that it is especially good for grilling Korean style bulgogi and other dishes....more info
  • Much better than I expected
I have an old charcoal kettle grill out on the balcony that I use from time to time, but I was frustrated with having to use a big heap of coals just to cook a few pieces of meat and I don't usually do a good job with charcoal anyway. I don't like to fry or broil meat indoors because it stinks up the whole house. I finally started considering electric grills and my wife got me the George Foreman GGR50B.

It's almost unnatural how many people rate this thing at 5 stars - I was fully prepared to be disappointed, since the 'grill' uses direct rather than indirect heat. It's not much different than a fancy ridged electric frying pan, as some reviewers have noted. The probe that fits into the grill surface is very similar to the ones that fit into electric frying pans. All that said, I was looking forward to at least trying instant-on, no charcoal, keep-the-smell-outside cooking.

It came. It went together well (you have to screw the posts together, follow the instructions.) It hasn't caused any power problems yet - perhaps someone's 'new' house has cheap wiring? Cleaning is easy, the non-stick surface means that a little attention in the sink from a sponge or 3M pad has it looking like new.

The real revelation was the food. Like I said, I was prepared to be disappointed, or at least underwhelmed. Instead, everything I've cooked so far has been really really good. Steak? Perfect. Seared for 1/8 inch and cooked yet pink throughout, just as I like it. Chicken? I cut a whole chicken down the backbone and flattened it, mexican style, rubbed it and threw it on the grill, flipped it 3x and boy howdy was that tasty. Juicy too, without being fatty or cooked in it's fat, because there was 1/2 inch of chicken fat in the fat pan and I had no problem getting it to drain in there either. Pork? The chops were juicy, not dried pucks like I get out of the oven. Fish was Ok. Burgers need a little work yet, I think I need to make the patties flatter and perhaps spray on a bit of oil. Spray oil and liquid smoke are two good accessories for this item, veggies absolutely need some spray oil to get their mojo goin'. BTW, keep the cover on while the food is cooking or the surface cools and does not cook properly.

I can't wait to try bacon.

Bottom line, it heats up fast, it cooks really fast, it cleans up easy and the food comes out tasting delicious. No more charcoal, no more stink, no more waiting, no more hassle. I'll give it 5 stars, and that's my honest opinion from experience. ...more info

  • Bad customer service
Product not shippd but chgd to credit card-much correspondence-Amazon secured a refund-This was birthday gift not received--however, I love my forman inside-outside grill- was why I was sending one as a gift. cannot recommend this supplier. Shipment was to Mass....more info
Since I ordered one originally for my parents, I have also already ordered 2 more; one for my sister and one for me :). These cook all meats in very little time with no propane worries. Yes, it can be messy to clean up unremoveable grill plate, but the taste is worth it. Luckily, I ordered mine online through walmart and had free site to store shipping. I just had to pickup at walmart. The price was only $65.00 but I have noticed even walmart price went up to compete with the amazon website price. I have cooked hamburgers, steak and chicken on my grill. All marinated meats have a much better taste, as would any prepared meats. Haven't tried veggies on it yet, but that is next. I find this grill is very light weight, with only 4 pieces to snap into place, no tools needed! I just can't say enough good things about it. Making my mouth water now just tasting my next steaks! • This is a horrible electric grill
The stand and bulk of this grill are just for show. If it was just turned into a large electric grill with removable plates it would make sense, but this thing is bulky, a pain to clean, hard to store, and is just a one sided George Foreman grill.

I bought this grill and used it twice. It's hard to explain, but the food did not turn out well. I use a real wood smoker, charcoal, propane and several electric grills and this one gave the worst results.

Tried it again and the same results, so instead of wasting my food I broke the grill apart and tossed it in the trash.

Probably should have sold it on Ebay, especially seeing the high ratings on Amazon, but I didn't think anyone would pay even $10 for this thing....more info
  • Love It!
I love this grill. I plan on eating healthier and being able to just plug up the grill and throw some chicken breast or chops on the grill is so handy. My only complaint is that is seems a little shaky, wobbly. I ordered it on Monday and it was at the house on Wednesday. I am so happy with my choice....more info
  • Great Grill
This grill is wonderful! It is so easy to use, extremely easy to clean and the food actually tastes like it's been bar-b-qued. We couldn't be more pleased with this grill and you can't beat the price. It really exceeded my expectations. ...more info

  • Easy To Use, Easy To Clean
Purchased this so we would not cook steaks indoors in the Winter. Our stove hood recirculates air over the cook surface, and the air is filled with a smokey haze. (no exhaust function) . With this grill, there is: No Charcoal, No Lighter Fluid, No Propane !! Plug it in outside, place the lid over the cooking surface until it heats up. Cook your food with the cover on or off...but it works better with the cover on when used outdoors in cold weather. When finished, the cook surface lifts off for easy indoor cleaning and there is a George Foreman grease trap No tools needed for assembly. After it cools down, we leave it outside under a plastic cover....more info
  • George Foreman Grill- Highly recommend

  • OK Grill for the price
This was delivered quickly, but lacked any type of paperwork. There was no instruction booklet on construction, usage, or care. We had to figure it out ourselves. This George Foreman also lacked grilling utensils, and since it has a non-stick surface, normal grilling utensils harm it.
Pros: Large grilling surface, fat run-off and catch basin, stand makes it as tall as most other grills, convenient and fast heat-up, hardly any mess to clean up.
Cons: No instructions, no plastic utensils like other George Foremans I have bought, lid has no place to hang as was described in product detail....more info
  • George Foreman GGR50B Grill Review

  • GF Electric Grill
I recently purchased a George Forman electric Grill online from It had to be electric because of safety standards where I live. So far I have used it to grill chicken, etc. and I find it to be suitable for what I need it for. It also cooks quickly so you have to be aware of the temperature you use. • george foreman grill ggr50b
Bought this for my son & his first apartment with a big roof deck. Perfect easy clean, no fuel to hassle finding & buying or restriction worries. Entertains friends for dinner weekly and it's big enough to cook at least main part of meal (meat, fish) for @10 people. Mostly plastic, so easy to keep outside and not real big....more info
  • A Great Sub For The Bad Days
We bought the GGR50b for a grilling substitute for them nasty (pouring down rain, subzero temp) days. Needless to say, there's no substitute for a Weber Charcoal with a chimney to get the coals going to eliminate the lighter taste.

Never-the-less, I purchased this grill to sub for the bad days. Not many recipes to be found online for this model as it is merely a flameless outdoor grill without the outdoor grilled flavor. The cooking times are similar to a Weber but combining the searing/cooking per side into one. Weber charcoal standards are 3/3min searing and 3/3min covered. I am not a health addict so George's recipes look bland to me.

I have used this grill twice in a 2 month period. (I cook with Weber in the snow :-)) Once for indoor burgers, which I'd advise using lean beef otherwise your smoke alarms will sound off, and last nite for New York Strips with bone in. Knowing the griddle type cooking would not produce an outdoor flame broiled taste I found a rub which was praised by many cowboys but not for a griddle. I had to modify a bit but with 7 minutes per side at level 5 with this rub and an olive oil base, I might mark a few more cold/rainy days as nasty out.

Clean-up is ok as long as the meat is not fatty. A decent sub for them bad days....more info
