Netsky-C Hammers U.S. and U.K.

Netsky-C, categorized as a highly dangerous virus, is pounding away at networks in the United States and the United Kingdom.

First detected on Feb. 26 in Canada, Netsky-C is a worm which spreads via shared networks and by emailing itself to addresses found within files located on drives C: to Z:. MessageLabs Inc., an anti-virus and anti-spam company, reports that the virus has been detected in 210 countries to date.

Sophos, Inc., another anti-virus and anti-spam vendor, says the bug accounts for 5 percent of all the malware traveling the Internet.
