Worm_Bropia.R, like the earlier Bropia variants, spreads copies of itself via MSN messenger, a popular instant messaging application. It drops a file detected by Trend Micro as Worm_Spybot.PB. It also drops and displays an image file depicting a nude handcuffed woman.
This worm propagates using MSN Messenger, a popular chat program. It sends a copy of itself to all contacts found in the MSN Messenger application. It also drops the file, EXE.EXE, in the root directories of the said contacts.
It sends several clickable URLs via MSN Messenger, pointing to a location where this worm can be downloaded. Once this worm is active, a user is unable to log on to the MSN Messenger application.
This worm is able to perform denial of service (DoS) attacks against target locations. It may also compromises system security.
