Manufacturer: Sandisk
Model: SDV1A : Number of User Reviews: 10 Reviewed by: bhk224 from IL on Aug 29, 2004 Rating: Experience: 4 Months Strengths: Compatibility. Size and remote control Weaknesses: none Summary: Setup was very easy. No problem with Edge Memory, Viking, Lexar, Kingston and Sony (of course, with Sandisk) memory cards. Still have to try if compatible with the faster speed cards. Reviewed by: jhatachote from NY on Sep 29, 2004 Rating: Experience: 5 Days Strengths: easy to use Weaknesses: I've not found yet Summary: This is the second Photo Viewver I've had since February. I think this product is quite easy to use and very convenient. I can portable use with many kinds of memory cards: compact flash, memory stick, secure digital, smart media, and multimedia card. That's great!! overall is good for me :) Reviewed by: slitvack from NY on Nov 29, 2004 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: Easy setup. Works with all media -- CFs, SDs, etc. Includes remote Weaknesses: No directions; no CATV connections (must use S-video) Summary: Proudct works as promised. Displays pictures clearly on the TV. Easy setup. I have attached the device to a RF Modulator so that we can show pictures on any TV, while listening to music through the TV. While setup is easy, the product contained no directions in terms of functions and use. You need to play with the device to figure out how to rotate pictures. Would have been nice if they provided some instructions. Remote is a nice feature. Overall good product, but don't pay to much for it. While a lot of stores are selling for over $30, it is available for less than $15 at a number of reputable merchants. Reviewed by: dmyers20 on Feb 28, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: Easy hookup to TV (all cables included), handy remote control, pictures look great on a large TV screen Weaknesses: Would be nice to go directly to a picture rather than just the "next" or "previous" image, lack of info in the User Guide. Summary: This is a pretty nifty device to view digital camera pictures. The device is simple to hookup to any TV with composite or S-video inputs. I was surprised to find both cables included. The images look great on my 32-inch TV. The zoom and rotate functions also come in handy for additional display options. You can vary the slideshow delay (which seems to default to about 3 seconds) to add an additional 1-60 seconds. I wish you could directly access a specific picture rather than just scanning through the entire memory card. The User Guide only contains instruction on how to hook it up to a TV. It contains no explanation of how the device or remote control functions operate. Reviewed by: sejank from MD on Feb 4, 2005 Rating: Experience: 8 Days Strengths: Ease of use & setup. Small size & portability. Remote control. Features (zoom, rotate & various display modes) Weaknesses: I cannot use my xD-Pic card (my camera also uses CF cards which work in the Photo Viewer). Only supports JPEG file resolutions up to 6 MP (I am forced to use reduced resolution pics). Summary: An easy to use piece of equipment for a great price. It's so much easier to put on a slide show sitting around the TV. Digital slide projectors cost a bundle. Reviewed by: bcongl from FL on Jan 26, 2005 Rating: Experience: Strengths: Great Picture Weaknesses: None Summary: This is very easy to use and extremely versatile. I would recommend this to anyone who is using a digital camera. Excellent picture quality and a nice touch is the remote. Reviewed by: americo from VA on Dec 1, 2004 Rating: Experience: 1 Weeks Strengths: simple to use Weaknesses: none Summary: I am very happy with this product. It has been very helpful during the holidays to share the pictures with all the family that came to visit. I recomend it. Thanks. Americo. Reviewed by: tenchu from CA on Nov 22, 2004 Rating: Experience: 14 Days Strengths: Easy to use. Works Weaknesses: No support for xD Summary: It's a good solution for those who doesn't want to bother with uploading to PC. Quick solution to view digital pictures. However, it doesn't support the new format of media. Reviewed by: davidkstyler from NV on Feb 2, 2005 Rating: Experience: 1 Days Strengths: It works! You can put it in auto mode and set the time to change or manually change the pictures. Weaknesses: When in auto display I had to first press pause to get the "Rotate" or "Previous" buttons to work. Summary: Having used, or tried to use, the other brand of card reader this one was a pleasure. It showed all the photos on the card, the zoom feature was nice. No problems yet! Reviewed by: Randyrhino from CA on Jan 15, 2005 Rating: Experience: 4 Days Strengths: Easy to hook up and operate. Automatically recognizes a digital card when inserted. Weaknesses: Cannot play AVI or other video files that may be on the card. Summary: This device is outstanding especially for the money. You can view your pix in a slide show, one at a time, or preview several on the screen, selecting the one you want to view full screen. You can also choose between the standard television screen view, or a letter box view that is better resolution. The pix can be zoomed, or rotated with ease, allowing you to look at greater detail, or from a different angle. I have always used a computer screen to view my digital photos, and this makes a family viewing so much easier allowing everyone to just sit in front of the tv and control the viewing with the included remote control. |
