January 28, 2005 -- PST is announcing the launch of the Ultra High-Performance Portable Infrared Thermal Camera for Oil & Gas leak detection. The IR928 is a Predictive Maintenance System that will be available to the Oil & Gas industry to monitor machinery, equipment and pipes. The system uses full color thermal imaging to detect leakage and features an automatic alarm that is triggered when dangerous temperatures are breached. The IR928 provides an early warning system. This system delivers unmatched temperature measurement accuracy. High thermal sensitivity allows for detailed high-resolution, distortion-free images. "Our customer's safety is of the utmost importance. Not only does the IR928 protect billions of dollars worth of machinery, but it also saves lives; before a costly and dangerous malfunction occurs, such as cracking or leakage." stated Mr. Woolman, President PST Ltd. Oil & Gas equipment operate under enormous stress, which when not monitored properly, can cause serious harm, both to employees and machinery. By installing this system, facility owners will benefit from decreased downtime and a longer life span for their existing equipment. The IR928 utilizes European Amorphous Silicon Microbolometer FPA detector technology. The IR928 can transmit live video to a safe distance of 600 meters, thereby protecting the systems operator.
