500 fps Megapixel Ethernet Camera has Built-In Pentium P4

May 1, 2004 The OPSIS 500fps megapixel smart camera system from Wintriss Engineering can capture the action at up to 500 frames per second. With exposure times as short as 100 ns and a built-in flash, fast moving objects can be frozen in time. The megapixel image provides feature detail needed for fine motion analysis. With an onboard FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and Pentium P4 processor, embedded software can control the frame rate and exposure time on the fly to optimize image quality. The Internal Image Sequencer software allows variable image capture sequences to be input as a list and executed automatically in the camera. An optional radar head can sense approaching objects and queue the camera to scan for objects entering the field of view. Using an embedded tilt sensor, the camera can sense its spatial orientation and calculate trajectories relative to a reference coordinate system or the real world. The camera can stand alone running custom applications software under Embedded Windows XP in the Pentium P4 processor to perform image processing or motion analysis tasks. A keyboard, monitor and mouse can be connected to operate autonomously or an external PC can be connected via Ethernet for analysis, storage and display of analyzed data.
