Medgar Evers College To Celebrate First Annual Educational Technology Day - Kenwyn Nero, President of IKON Business Group, to Present Keynote Speech
 

Medgar Evers College will celebrate its First Annual Educational Technology Day Conference, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Carroll Street Campus. The conference, a joint endeavor between the College's School of Business and Office of Information Services and Academic Technology, will feature technology showcases as well as business forums. Kenwyn Nero, President of IKON Business Group¡ªa management and technology consulting firm, will be the keynote speaker for the day. Major vendors, including Apple, Dell and Computer Associates will showcase some of the latest digital communications and networking hardware and software on the market.

Brooklyn, NY April 20, 2005 -- On Thursday, April 21, 2005, Medgar Evers College will celebrate its First Annual Educational Technology Day Conference, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Carroll Street Campus. The conference, a joint endeavor between the College's School of Business and Office of Information Services and Academic Technology, will feature technology showcases as well as business forums. Kenwyn Nero, President of IKON Business Group¡ªa management and technology consulting firm, will be the keynote speaker for the day. Major vendors, including Apple, Dell and Computer Associates will showcase some of the latest digital communications and networking hardware and software on the market.

Business Forums
Following remarks by Dr. Edison O. Jackson, President of the College, Dr. Dominic Nwasike, Provost of the College, and keynote speaker Mr. Nero, the College's School of Business will present two one-hour plenaries on Graduate and Professional Education, featuring local graduate program representatives and alumni, and Business and Technology, featuring a demonstration of Bisk¡ªthe popular CPA exam preparation course software.

Running throughout the entire day, the Vendor Technology Showcase will feature major hardware and software vendors demonstrating their latest technology, with emphases on education and business. Several business owners will be on hand to discuss career opportunities, technology in business use and software for test-preparation. There will also be ongoing faculty showcases of instructional technology, such as online test preparation, grading and distance learning software.

Great Gifts and Prizes
In addition, there will be free door prizes and giveaways from sponsors, as well as raffles for such outstanding items as computers and discounts on the purchase of selected computers, a digital camera, a palm pilot, and a Flash Drive.

The conference, a joint venture between the College's School of Business and the College's Office of Information Services Technology, which supplanted the School of Business' regular annual conference, was designed to teach the general public about the numerous linkages between business, technology and education.
