Machine Vision Cameras offer UV option

UV Option Extends Cameras' Capabilities

JAI PULNiX's UV option (OP21-UV), available on selected PULNiX machine vision cameras, is the option of replacing a camera's standard imager with an ultraviolet-sensitive imager. These cameras use high-resolution monochrome progressive scan CCDs, which permit full vertical and horizontal resolution of very high-speed shutter images and eliminate UV-blocking materials such as a cover glass or micro lens.

OP21-UV is available on many JAI PULNiX products. Frame rates for these cameras range from 8 fps to 200 fps, depending on the camera being used. Resolutions range from 648 x 484 to 2048 x 2048. A square imager format with uniform square pixels provides superior image definition in any orientation (except the TM-9701). The electronic shutter can be reset asynchronously by external pulse control. For complete details about OP21-UV, please see the UV datasheet at

Applications for cameras equipped with the UV-sensitive imager include laser inspection and analysis, UV microscopy, surface inspection, flame analysis, and fluoroscopy.

The UV option is available on selected PULNiX cameras now. UV imagers have neither glass nor microlenses, and require special care to avoid degraded performance or damage to the imager. Volume pricing for these cameras is available upon request. A high-resolution photograph is available for viewing and download at Click on the "Press Center" button, and then on the "Editor" button. When prompted, enter the case-sensitive ID and password to access the photograph.
