ExecuJet Expands Maintenance Offering

ExecuJet South Africa, the region's leading business aviation organisation, is pleased to announce the expansion of its maintenance capabilities.

November 12, 2004 -- Lanseria International Airport, November 10th, 2004 - ExecuJet South Africa, the region's leading business aviation organisation, is pleased to announce the expansion of its maintenance capabilities.

In terms of the expansion, ExecuJet is now able to provide comprehensive in-house avionics support and engine overhaul services. As a Honeywell Authorised Sales and Service Centre for avionics, ExecuJet can provide full maintenance services to systems installed on the new-generation Bombardier business jets such as the Primus? 1000 and Primus? 2000XP. ExecuJet can also provide complete support to the Honeywell Bendix King avionics systems fitted to the Pilatus PC-12 turboprop.

"Our avionics work was previously outsourced to approved sub-contractors," says maintenance director Nick Fourie. "This decision has meant a fairly heavy investment in equipment, manpower and staff training, but we are delighted to be able to offer this new service to our clients and to demonstrate our commitment to providing a holistic solution."

ExecuJet is also able to provide avionic upgrades to older generation aircraft, bringing them in line with airworthiness legislation requirements with respect to TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems), CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) and RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minima).

From an engine maintenance perspective, ExecuJet is now the only service centre equipped with a dynamometer test cell outside of North America, authorised to perform CAM inspections (major overhauls) on the Honeywell TPE 331-14 turboprop engine as fitted to Jetstream 41 aircraft. ExecuJet is already an appointed Honeywell Engine Maintenance center and operates the only approved and calibrated engine test cell for both the Pratt and Whitney PT6A and Honeywell TPE 331 series engines in southern Africa.

"Honeywell has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with ExecuJet," says Rob Richardson, Manager, Aftermarket Programs, Customer and Product Support for Honeywell. "We are pleased now to able to include avionics and enhanced engine capabilities in that relationship."

Based at Lanseria International Airport, ExecuJet offers a 24 hour maintenance service, which includes Turn Around Services, Line Maintenance Activities, and periodic and heavy maintenance on a variety of business jets, turbo prop and related systems. It is the only approved Bombardier, Dassault Falcon, EADS CASA and Pilatus Authorized Service Facility in Africa and is specifically qualified to work on a comprehensive range of aircraft, including Global Express, Learjet, Challenger, Citation, Falcon, King Air, Casa 212 and 235 aircraft.

ExecuJet has a hangarage area of 9, 000m2 which can accommodate aircraft such as the Global Express with ease. Security has been enhanced with the installation of Closed Circuit Television cameras and access control to all areas. This enables aircraft owners or operators to be aware of who has access to aircraft, at all times.

ExecuJet Maintenance's Quality Management System conforms in principle to ISO 9001:2000 and, where practical and in line with South African regulations, to JAR 145.
