Eldim Launches iSENSE, A New Range of Digital Cameras for Quantitative Imaging, Photometry and Colorimetry

Over the past twelve years, the French company ELDIM has developed a worldwide presence and solid reputation in the field of colorimetry and photometry applied to the display industry. Today the company is introducing iSENSE, its latest range of digital cameras intended for quantitative imaging, photometry and colorimetry.

Based on 16-bit ADC (Automatic Data Capture) technology, the iSENSE digital cameras are cooled down to -22¡ãF by means of a thermoelectric system. This guarantees optimal measurement sensitivity and low S/N Ratio, even with ultra-low emitting signals.

New options are also being offered. The CCD (Charge Coupled Device) sensor resolution can reach 6.3 million pixels. Various filters such as photopic, NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System), and interference filters can be integrated. Sensors with anti-blooming protection and quality lenses are available on special request.

An available selection of quality lenses with low distortion and good MTF (Mean Time to Failure), are developed and manufactured in-house at ELDIM's laboratory. Inserting custom spectral range filters is also possible on request. Customers benefit from the fact that the company has its own optical laboratory capable of developing and producing its lenses and meeting special requests. Optical manufacturing and unique technological breakthroughs make ELDIM's products superior to commercial off-the-shelf products.

iSENSE is a complete solution, notably incorporating control and analysis software. Data exportation and iSENSE management can be performed under other Windows applications such as Excel through Visual Basic or C++. Camera control as well as measurement automation is achievable with various applications such as LabView or any ActiveX compatible software. Being a complete, flexible range of digital cameras, it is the ideal and extremely competitive solution for low light level applications such as astronomy, display uniformity analysis, and dashboard layout ergonomics studies.

In order to be even closer to its customers, ELDIM is seeking distributors for promoting its range of iSENSE cameras in the US and Canada. The company will exhibit its products at the Society for Information Display's International Symposium, Seminar & Exhibition (SID 2003) to be held at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland, May 18-23, 2003.
