V 4000 - First Vision-Based Press Brake System

The new V 4000 Press Brake is the first camera sensor that offers both maximum safety and optimization on press brake machines. This device utilizes vision-based technology for point-of-operation safeguarding on press brake machines in metalworking and automotive applications. SICK will launch its new V 4000 Press Brake System at the METALFORM 2005 tradeshow in booth # 1807, March 20 - 23.

The V 4000 Press Brake system mounts on the upper beam of the press brake and provides safeguarding during the fast downward movement of the punch. The V 4000 Press Brake System creates a safety volume below the die that is constantly monitored for intrusion. The Output Signal Switching Device (OSSD) on the V 4000 Press Brake System provides a signal to switch off the machine as soon as an intruding object is detected.
