American Collectors Insurance announces that Laura Bergan has been promoted to Director of Marketing
Cherry Hill, NJ May 1, 2005 -- American Collectors Insurance announced today that Laura Bergan has been promoted to Director of Marketing. In this new position, Laura will be responsible for directing the activities of the outside pr/advertising agencies, all internal marketing personnel and will also handle media relations. Laura will serve as the company spokesperson for all product lines including Collector Vehicle Insurance, Driver's Education (insuring participants of on-track Driver's Ed Activities, such as those events organized by the Porsche Club of America) and Collectibles Insurance.
"We are very excited about Laura leading the marketing department," says Jill Bookman, CEO of American Collectors Insurance. "She has been with us for the past four years, and we have watched her grow and develop into a key player on our team. Promoting her to the leader in the marketing division is not only the next logical step, but also a great blessing and choice for American Collectors in assuring our future success. We expect great things out of Laura, and have no doubt she will make big things happen for our company."
"Although my career at American Collectors started out on the underwriting side, I have a background in communications and had an opportunity to become involved in agency sales and marketing in 2003," says Laura. "I've had tremendous on the job learning experiences at American Collectors since then, and am very excited by the challenges and opportunities that await me in my new position."
Laura, a licensed insurance agent, has been with American Collectors Insurance since 2001. Her experience in customer service and insurance underwriting gives her a real appreciation and understanding for American Collector's customers' wants and needs.
"In my new role, I plan on continuing the long-standing tradition of American Collectors Insurance being the industry leader and innovator, as well as raising the bar to a new level," says Laura. "Our #1 source of direct new business is from referrals, which is a huge compliment to our service staff here, and is wonderful since it means we have a great many happy customers! We have accomplished a lot in the last few years by educating consumers through affiliations with specialized auto restoration companies, and I plan on pursuing these types of partnerships with other companies in the industry. This is a very exciting time of growth at American Collectors and I am proud to be such a strategic part of it."
Working at American Collectors is not all Laura does. To stay on the pulse of the automotive industry, she is involved in an automotive aftermarket industry organization called SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association). Last year, she was elected to serve on the ARMO (Automotive Restoration Market Organization) Select Committee, a highly respected and influential SEMA Council. She is also a current member of the Young Executives Network, a committee of SEMA.
