ADC KRONE Announce Regional Connectivity Roadshow Across ASEAN

Events to provide enterprise end users with access to the latest developments and technology to build robust IT and communication infrastructure

Singapore March 4, 2005 -- Leading connectivity solutions provider, ADC KRONE will be hosting a series of seminars across the ASEAN region in March 2005. Attendees to the events will be able to update themselves on the latest trends and technology in communications industry. They will also be able to observe, first hand, how high performance communication solutions can help their organisations boost ROI, build revenue streams and improve cost savings.

Currently, enterprises are faced with a relentless shift towards e-business, virtual and mobile work forces as well as increasing pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity. Consequently, these organisations are looking towards converged IP networks to help them gain the competitive edge. 10 Gigabyte Ethernet is emerging as a technology that will help enterprises meet the delivery demands for converged networks as well as new applications coming to the fore.

As part of the programme, ADC KRONE will present how the combined solutions portfolio of the joined ADC and KRONE organisations will be able to support and address the needs of enterprise end users better than ever. The new synergy has created a leading network infrastructure entity that provides both active and passive connectivity to the global market.

The roadshow schedule is:
  Indonesia, 7th March 05
  Philippines 9th March 05
  Vietnam 11th March 05
  Thailand 15th March 05
  Malaysia 16th March 05
  Singapore 17th March 05

With broadband connectivity on the uptake in the Asian region, the ADC KRONE seminars come at an opportune time for enterprise organisations seeking upgrades to cope with new applications and systems. According to Gartner Group, Asia Pacific fixed-line broadband connections in Asia grew by 50 per cent during 2004 and this will grow exponentially in 2005. IDC Asia Pacific predicts significant developments in wireless technologies, VoIP, and Enterprise IP telephony as well.

Eric Behrendt, General Manager, South East Asia of ADC KRONE, said "End users now have access to a greater portfolio of solutions to improve their network infrastructures and boost performance. The joining of ADC and KRONE has resulted in a larger organisation with more consultancy personnel and expertise as well, allowing us to penetrate into additional markets segments."

Across Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam, attendees will be able to update themselves on the latest trends sweeping into the telecommunications industry and find out how to prepare their organisations for these changes. Attendees from these countries will also be able to additionally witness next generation 10 GB technology in action ¨C the market leading CopperTen? UTP solutions from ADC KRONE.

Targeted at the high-end enterprise market, CopperTen? solutions address the growing demand for high-speed connectivity, especially in the research/educational, data centre environments and the financial sector. Launched across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in 2004, CopperTen's? performance impressed delegates during the event.

In Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, attendees will be kept abreast of the latest compliance and standards on 10GB technology from the IEEE and the cabling standards bodies ISO/IEC and EIA/TIA, in addition to previewing new communication technologies. The evolution of converged IP and its implications on Enterprise IT networks will be presented by Rob Milne, ADC KRONE's regional IT Manager.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)
ADC KRONE's Power over Ethernet technology which powers IP telephony devices and other applications over a local area network will be on feature. The IEEE 802.3af-compliant device eliminates the need for installation of local power for Ethernet devices such as IP telephones, Wi-Fi access points, security cameras and other network components requiring 12.95 watts or less.

"This regional roadshow will equip the IT industry in South East Asia to make the right decisions on the latest in structured cabling technology and trends," said Behrendt.
