Strengths: Fast read & write speed, Inexpensive compared with Sony brand, & excellent quality.

Weaknesses: Only 480 MB useable after deducting the space used by MagicGate.

Summary: (Edited November 17th by Akirakun1) After doing some price comparisons, I purchased the 512MB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro because the Sony brand was almost twice the price. I used it in the New Sony Cybershot DSC-W1. I can take about 124 (10% variation due to image properties) 2592x1944 pictures in jpeg 5.1M mode. Fast read, write, review and delete speeds. It is optimized to capture and playback DVD quality video, store CD quality audio and posses the advanced security technology called MagicGate. The package included a turquoise 512 MB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro (w/ write-protect switch), operating instructions booklet , users guide (part of packaging) and a hard protective case. Overall this is an excellent choice!

Paid $84.79 - $10 manufacturers rebate = $74.79
(Pricegrabber no longer offers a $10 rebate for reviews on this product.)

Please make sure of product compatibility before you purchase. Thank you!

Summary: The Scandisk 512MB memory stick pro is a great alternative to the expensive brands. Used it with a Sony DSC-P93 digital camera and it is nice to have large enough storage to get about 185 pics at 5MP resolution. Transfer rate is great. Also can shoot reasonable length movie shots with good reproducibility. Would highly recommend.

Strengths: Much cheaper than Sony & Lexar. Sony, Lexar & Sandisk are all made by Sony, so the quality should be the same.

Weaknesses: None.

Summary: Got it for making short movies & lots of pictures for Sony Cybershot DSC-W1. Reading to computer is fast. No problems so far. $117. The price on it is dropping constantly. I bet in a few months 1GB will be more popular.

Strengths: Fast read/write speeds. Much cheaper then sonys version, and as far as im concerned, just as good.

Weaknesses: Not really a strong weakness, but the lock switch is extremly small

Summary: I bought this stick because it was cheaper then sony's and it was a good buy for the memory. Sandisk makes a really good long lasting product. The small lock switch isn't that big of a deal. I just have big hands :-)

Summary: (Edited September 14th by jameszj) This product is very good. It is almost same with my original Sony one. I like it. As far as I know, the memory stick Pro is a product cooperated by San Disk and Sony. So SanDisk is a good choice.

Weaknesses: usable volume not up to 512MB

Summary: This product works well with my SONY F717 digital camera. Never lost any data. However, as I checked its volume on my laptop, the usable volume is not 512MB, but only 480MB. I don't know what is wrong. Maybe I need to pre-format it before use? More description is needed. I would like to see a detailed user manual as an improvement.
