Now playing in a dash near you: Your calls, CDs, DVDs, iPod, and more.
The 5.8-inch widescreen touchscreen on the AVH-P3100DVD allows you to enjoy all of your music and videos in style. Sick of having to search through your music song by song? Now you can scroll through your music at the touch of a finger.
iPod Made Easy
Simply plug your iPod directly into the unit using the CD-IU50V iPod cable, and you're ready to rock and roll. Touch-slide scrolling, alphabetical high-speed search, album art, and improved link search make it easy to find your music.
Bring Your Music to Life
Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3, WMA, and AAC files. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer can make your music sound close to CD quality.
Controlling your movies and music has never been easier. With a smooth swipe of your finger on the touch-panel display, you can fast forward and rewind audio/video content. (Note: The touch-slide fast forward/rewind function is not available on iPod.)
Now it's Personal
Select among five display colors and 112 key panel illuminations to match your car's interior lighting, color, and design. You even can set your favorite JPEG file as wallpaper. Parked with no place to go? Now you can enjoy a slideshow of your photos on a CD or USB device.
Get the Blues
Fed up with your Bluetooth headset? Here's a better hands-free solution. Use the available CD-BTB200 Bluetooth adapter and your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone for easy, safe, and hands-free operation. The unit acts like a speakerphone, channeling the sound through your car speakers, which makes the call sound better. It also automatically mutes your music so that you'll never miss a call. (Note: CD-BTB200 adapter is required.)
The AVH-P3100DVD also includes features that are designed to expand your system, customize your experience, and provide both superior sound quality and easy operation, such as:
- built-in AUX input for your media devices;
- two RCA high-Volt pre-outs for adding external amps and speakers;
- built-in MOSFET 50 W x 4 amplifier for excellent sound quality, minimal distortion, and efficient power handling; and

- All in all, a great unit
I got this for my 2004 Nissan Frontier from Amazon, and as usual, super fast shipping and great customer service.
It's a great sounding unit. So far I am extremely happy. The reason I got this is because of the ability to "upgrade as you go" with the accessories. I have the bluetooth unit and the hd radio unit. Everything works pretty flawlessly. All in all I love this thing.
The only problem I have with this is not necessarily Pioneer's fault. My dash is at a particular angle, so when drive in bright daylight, (I live in Southern California, so pretty much all the time) and when my hand is in front of the face, it reflects my hand so I can't see the screen. It's not a deal-breaker, but had I have known, i would have gone for the 4100, which has an adjustable angle screen.
All in all I think this is the best receiver I have ever owned. ...more info
- The best 2-DIN DVD
I own a 2008 1500 Dodge Ram, and consider very important to keep the original equipment look. Since my pickup had a OEM stereo, to make it fit my dash I had to buy a factory NAV bezel from Dodge (the bezel for the pickup with navigation system). With the customizable illumination of the Pioneer receiver, it looks amazing and fits perfectly with the illumination of my whole dash.
The menus are very easy to use and the picture looks incredibly sharp. Even though that the screen is a little bit smaller than the AVH-4100DVD, the screen is fixed and I am sure it is better that way, since I don't exactly trust the other model's opening and closing mechanism. The animated backgrounds look very nice and the interface for the USB memory displays all the information of any song that is playing.
If you are considering buying a double DIN DVD, this is the best option on the market today.
Note: Some of the touch screen functions are blocked while driving unless you bypass the parking brake wire. For this bypass without a switch, I used a 5 pin relay (Mobile Spec MSRELAY Relay 30amp 5pin Sgl-Pull Dbl-Throw) and wired it as follows: prong 87 and 86 to ground wire, prong 85 to the remote wire coming off the head unit (blue wire) and then the parking brake wire (green) goes to prong 30. This connection will allow you to have the full touch sceen functions at all time and watch DVDs without the parking brake engaged....more info
- Great Product but some things stink
Great Power, Great sound, Great video quality, Simple, Easy-to-use but annoying.
Can't change font size, buttons on the outside are hard to distinguish by touch but the touch sensitivity on the screen is very good. Just little things piss me off, but for the most part it is an overall great buy!...more info
- Great unit, can't beat the price
I purchased this unit from Amazon and installed it in my Explorer. It looks and works great. I didn't buy the Ipod cord because I found that a regular USB Ipod cord works and is fully functional to the Pioneer interface. The functionality is great and I have used an Ipod, Flash Drive and other MP3 players and they all work great. I haven't been able to watch a movie except on a DVD but I just haven't put in the time yet.
I do wish that the scrolling was a little faster and I could change the clock from army time to regular 12 hour. Besides that I am very satisfied with the unit and would recommend it to anyone. For the price you can't beat it. ...more info
- Very nice radio
very nice radio and video player, have no problems with it so far. I found you can use the regular Ipod cable to play your Ipod don't need the cable they recommend....more info
- Glad I made this purchase
I did lots of research before deciding on this product. I took me about an hour to install it and make it look very clean and professional (hour included bypassing the security so I can use the DVD player while driving) So far I love this product and would recomend it. Good quality when playing MP3s, or CDs, easy hook up for my iPOD, and the screen is very clear when watching DVDs. If you are going to hook it up yourself, I would really recomend getting the installation harness to make life easier. Cuts the installation time in half. ...more info
- pioneer avh-p3100dvd in a 350z
This HU is very neat and fits perfectly inside my 350z where the old factory radio was, I got it professionally installed and the sound is very nice made my stock speaker sound better and you can tweak the sound to your preference and also control your subwoofer if you have one in my case i have one and it made it sound much better. and also you can play your ipod in the HU but if you want to play your videos from your ipod you need the special connector from pioneer which connects to the HU's usb and aux inputs, one more thing, if you want to play the video you need to turn the screen saver to off to the view the videos....more info
- Nice deck for the price
I bought this deck to replace the factory stereo on my 2007 Mustang GT. It has a lot of nice features and a good display. For some reason, I can't get it to display JPEG images. Not a huge deal, but I wanted to be able to change the background.
Unfortunately, I didn't research this deck enough before I bought it. I really wish it had 3 sets of pre-outs. That would have made setting up my system so much easier, (I have 4 speakers in the doors, 2 in the rear deck and a 12" sub in the trunk). But if you want a cool touchscreen deck and you only have 2 sets of speakers, this is a good one to get....more info
- Pioneer AVH-P300DVD 5.8inch car steroe
To start, I absolutly love this stereo. It has some great features for something of its price range. A lot I wouldn't expect. I love to customize my sound, and this has everything I need to do that. It also has plenty of extras, such as bluetooth, sat and hd radio. My favorite is the usb and aux inputs.... best of all the usb is compatible with my iphone and controls it just as it would an ipod. most usb interface stereos do not do this. As for it being a touch screen.. the size is just right and it fits perfectly into my dash. The user interface is great as well and easy to use. With ease i can scroll through displayed folders and songs, and again as for a touch screen this is one of the best ive ever used in that the slightest of touch is needed to activate the buttons, as where some touch screens seem to have trouble recognizing when you are actually touching it. Overall it is a great unit and really should cost a lot more for what you get and i would certainly suggest this over most models of in dash touch screens that cost almost $1000. Oh an no worries about not having built in navi... most ones that do have it do not allow you to listen to music while using the navigation. I dont know about you but I cant ride for 4 hours using the navigation without music. Id rather get a window mounted one. Do beware though of where you buy. I originally purchased it at an electronics store and paid almost $500, then I found it on here for just $290 and free shipping. Needless to say I took the first one back. Hope this helps....more info
- Amazing Unit
This is an amazing headunit. I replaced my factory unit with the avh-p3100dvd and immediately, the improvement in sound quality is noticeable. I have factory speakers installed and I'm completely content with the sound output from them now. DVD and CD playback is loud and clear. If you have movies or podcasts on your Ipod/Iphone device, then I highly recommend buying the CD-IU50V cable, but if you just want music from your IPod/IPhone, then the standard usb sync/power cable will be more than adequate. There is not much else I can add to the review other than I would suggest this unit to anyone that is in the market for a double DIN receiver with all of these features, especially at the price available here on Amazon.com ...more info
- Great interface
I bought the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD to replace my week-old Jensen VM8023HD which I was extremely disappointed with. [Sidebar on the Jensen: The user interface on the Jensen is /terrible/. It is slow, buggy, and crash-prone. It is also very haphazard in terms of what button to push in any given mode. Sometimes it's the rotary encoder (volume knob), sometimes it's up/down, sometimes it's another button entirely. Totally violates the principal of least surprise. Seems like it was designed and implemented by some poor intern in 2 weeks. Nice feature set, but completely ruined by the interface. So I quickly ordered the Pioneer to replace the junky Jensen.]
Overall the Pioneer is great! It is orders of magnitude better than the Jensen in terms of interface and reliability. Sound quality is better, too, in my opinion. (The Jensen seemed to insert some digital-sounding "gunk" between MP3s; the Pioneer does not.)
- Menus are very intuitive and easy to navigate.
- It works well with MP3s on a USB stick. Navigation between folders (including nested folders) is easy. You can touch-drag to scroll quickly down a long list or to move the current playback position within a song. You can see 4 track names per screen (I think...it might be 5 or 6) which is adequate. (The Jensen only showed 2!)
- Touching a song name starts it playing but does not exit the menu so you can touch another song if you change your mind. This is great when searching for one specific song that you can't quite remember the name of.
The whole experience is better than the Jensen in almost every way. However, there are some things which could be improved (nothing is perfect!):
- The 'hard' buttons on the unit (volume +/-, track +/-, mute, source, and display off) require too much force to press in my opinion. I would prefer a softer feel. You really have to press the button like you mean it. I also would prefer a rotary knob for the volume control.
- The location of the USB and Aux ports (lower left corner) is poor because a USB stick poking out of the port can easily be hit by my hand when moving the shifter on the steering column. These would be better off on the lower right instead of lower left corner. Depending on the setup in your car that might not be a problem for you.
- It throws up a warning screen which you must acknowledge the first time you switch to a video source (DVD or AUX in) even if you're already parked with the parking brake on. I find this behavior really annoying. If you're already parked it should not give you the warning.
- I'm using a SWI-PS steering wheel interface and the 'mute' function of the interface causes the Pioneer to go into "Attenuation" mode where it lowers the volume but does not mute it completely. I'd much prefer it actually mute. I think this is a Pioneer issue, not a SWI-PS one since the SWI-PS muted the Jensen correctly. I have to contact the PAC folks and see if there is a workaround on the SWI-PS for this issue.
- Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD
The Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD is great, does everything it says on the box and does it well. No problems and i have had it for a month so far....more info
Pretty much what you ask for. It would be better with an updated firmware/software capabilities because the hardware is there....more info
I received this product a couple days ago and was able to drop it in my 2007 VW Rabbit. I must admit I am absolutely impressed with it. I was looking for a reason to rate it 4 stars, because I hardly give anything five stars; but I could not find anything wrong with it. It fit PERFECTLY in the car, it looks like an extremely high end/expensive deck (it can be dependent on where you purchase it) and my speakers sound phenomenal running off of the deck. Iv got a 10 speaker stock sound system for my mids/highs, which gets much louder (due to the built in crossover) with much better clarity than my stock deck; I also have two 15inch hifonics subs. The e-brake to view dvd's while driving has also been bypassed by installing a switch. Just to let whoever it may concern aware that this CAN be done with EASE. The dvd clarity during the day was very impressive with all the glares. You can see more than you would imagine (although my 3% tint may also play a big role). The picture looks phenomenal at night. This is a product I would recommend to anyone wanting a dual-den deck. ...more info

- Much bang for the buck
I was looking for a head unit to replace a 3.5 inch Boss Audio head unit in my 05 Yukon. I kept coming across the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD. After some research and reading reviews, I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did bc this head unit works as good as advertised. It is getting the most out of my Bose system and then some. I have owned it for two weeks now and nothing to complain of yet. The double din fits perfectly in my Yukon and looks like it came with the truck almost. I would definitely recommend this head unit to anyone....more info
- Great Product
I bougth this Reciever for my Toyota truck, I had installed and works great it a solid product (as many pioneer items) this reciever handle pretty good the iPod even with its own cable connected to the usb (doesn't reproduce videos) altought somewhat SLOW, but plays DVD's, Divx movies, JPEG Slideshow and CD, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA (whether are on a USB drive or a DVD, CD) I recommended very much for its capabilities and low price. The front USB and input plug are usefull and it has rear camera input and another AV Input, also an IP-BUS input that I used with for a extra RCA Audio input where I plug my HAM Scanner. The Interface its very intuitive and you can customize the background image with your own. I feel that pioneer should improved the speed of the iPod handling but anyway this is a very GOOD PRODUCT....more info

- Awesome inexpensive unit!!
I bought this because it's cheap and I love the eq's Pioneer has. The unit fit in my 98 Pathfinder perfectly, no kit required at all. I did not order the Ipod cable, I plugged it into the usb, everything works fine, displays thru the head unit. I do not use video on it. But it plays all the song like it should. Also I bypassed the parking brake with the relay. worked perfectly, no problems whatsoever. Great unit, cheap price and easy to install. If you want a double din cd/dvd player and don't need nav buy this!!...more info
- Simply Awesome Receiver
I had this receiver installed in my '05 Mustang GT to replace the pitiful hu that was in the car. What an amazing piece of electronics. I've paired it with my Blackberry 8330 and it works perfectly. Ipod hookup is simple and elegant and the interface very easy to use. I wasn't originally looking for a dvd unit but I'm so pleased with this one. It comes highly recommended from this reviewer!
Watching a dvd is wonderful. I've bypassed the shutoff when driving. While I don't watch the movie while I'm driving I'm a nut for the music in movies so that's as much a pleasure as watching them! When I do watch the screen is crystal clear and sharp. Truly a great receiver....more info
