Customer Reviews:

  • This is NOT a puzzle game - puzzle lovers beware
I was so excited to read the reviews here after LOVING Professor Layton. I loved the puzzles combined with the mystery and the hunt for coins and clues. I was expecting that this would be similar. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!! This is NOT a puzzle game! This is a "I Spy" or "Highlights" game and that's all. The story mode that supposedly is a mystery is nothing other than a story -- you have nothing to do with solving any mystery or in figuring out ANYTHING other than finding the hidden objects. I am a huge puzzle lover, and this game has wrongly been billed as a puzzle game. Like a couple other reviewers have mentioned, this is a "Where's Waldo" kind of game, BUT EASIER. "I Spy" books are more difficult than these scenes. This game really does not require any creative thinking or solving at all. It's great if you just want some mindless "finding" type of game, BUT, if you are looking for puzzle games this is NOT the game for you! Sorely disappointed!!...more info
  • Mystery game - DS
Shipped quickly. As advertised. Quality as expected. Great fun to play. Game changes if you select different answers so you can play again as another person and it's still fun....more info
  • If you like 'Where's Waldo' or Word Search Games, this is a nice twist
Like Word Search Games or "Where's Waldo?", you get a list of items to search for in a photo cluttered with numerous items. You can scroll through the photo in sections using the A, B, X, Y, or multidirection keypad. You can also pan through with the touch pad. As you touch the item with your stylus, the items on your list get shorter. You get two 'hints' to find remaining items. Although the list of items and backdrops change, the task is the same every time - search for the items.

There are 2 main modes - Quick Play and Story Play. With Story Play your task is to search for items against the clock. In Quick Play, you search for items in a picture from a list of items.

Graphics and music are very good. For me, the music is entertaining and helps me really get immersed in the game. This is more of a puzzle game, rather than a 'mystery' or 'sleuth' type of game.

Some objects are quite small to detect and this could be frustrating for farsighted or younger players < 9 years of age.

Overall, this is a good game but the sequel should include a bigger variety of puzzles to keep its audience entertained....more info
  • MillionHeir
I got this game for my kids and found that I enjoy it too. We play games similar to this on Pogo so I figured they would enjoy it. I have yet to beat it but once my son realized how interesting it was he couldn't put it down. He played it for about 2 days and got all the way through it. There are the regular levels where you search for things and then some kind of puzzle once you've found a certain amount of items. You then have to add a signature to show that you've investigated that case so you can move on to the next one. It's fun!...more info
  • Good departure from everything else available....
Is this game super exciting? No. I found it to be more relaxing and settling after a long day.

Basically, you look at a picture and find hidden objects. Sometimes you need special tools to find the objects. It is pretty straight forward and simple.

I would like to see more games with this kind of vibe.... simple, no violence, no learning. Haha. Busywork, I guess.

As for replay-ability, I have not completely finished the game but I will come back and comment on whether or not you can replay once you have beaten it....more info

  • Great Game for all Ages - LOVED IT
I have just finished the Rookie and Detective mode and throughly enjoyed it! My grandson who is 10 years old is playing the game now. I haven't played the PC version, but I'm considering buying that game. If you enjoy the hidden objects games such as "I Spy" or "Where's Waldo" you will love this one. I was disappointed when the game finished. I wanted MORE objects to find. I also like using the stylus. I try to find games that I don't have to use the control buttons. I hope another version comes out soon....more info
  • A slightly souped up I Spy game
I found this game to be entertaining when I needed to just pass a little time but not the kind of game that keeps you wanting to go back quickly.
It was a fairly simple game of find the hidden objects. There are a variety of scenes and items to locate. There are some fun ways to look for them by using an xray and underwater goggles as well as interacting with the object to make it fit the item description (like "cut the pie" in which you use the stylus to draw through the picture of the pie). There did not seem to be an increase in difficulty. There is not a time element so you can hunt all you want. You can also click as many times on the screen without penalty.
The back story about the Million Heir was really weak and didn't really add to the puzzles. Towards the end when you are looking for DNA evidence, there is a little game that you have to complete before moving on. It never really got harder and was very simple in nature.
The only time I had a lot of fun was when my kids were looking over my shoulder for items.
Some kids may like this but I don't think it is much of a challenge for most.

I bought this for my granddaughter and she loves it! I've played it and I really like it, too!...more info
  • Addicting!
I really didn't think I would like this game when I saw the title, boy was I wrong. It is awesome. There are so many neat things to find the objects with. It may look easy but it isn't. It is very addicting and would recommend it to all....more info
  • ADDICTIVE
Game is very good once you start playing it, can't seem to put it down....more info
  • So fun it should be illegal
I loved this game so much I've played it twice! It has so many aspects to it that you can't possibly get bored. You have to use a flashlight to see some items, or xray vision to see others. There's even games within games. Not to mention, the characters are hysterical.

I would highly recommend this game to all ages. For those who have purchased games where the objects were too difficult to find, this isn't that game. An important factor (since I can't see squat!): this game has items that are easy to find, yet still provide a challenge. If you can't find it, it's because you're overlooking it.

Overall, great interactivity, and a whole lot of fun.

    Happy hunting!...more info
  • IT IS ENTERTAINING
The game is basically looking for camouflaged objects. It is very simple and entertaining. Many of the objects are very hard to find, some are easy. A very relaxing game. Keeps you alert but in a easy, fun and comfy way....more info
  • So Much Fun!
I'm a 63 year-old grandmother and I love this game! I got it for Christmas and I have spent many, many hours engrossed in finding items, solving puzzles and overall enjoying myself. I've been to the end three times and have not seen the same set of items twice. I highly recommend this fun, quality game for DS owners!...more info
