Customer Reviews:

  • Armchair Bond
Is it up there with modern thinking about computer gaming? No. Maybe players want more from their games; more interaction, more menus, more choice. Does this deliver on that front? No. BUT! Bond isn't about choice and class (the Bond of old was, but this chap is supposed to be simply brutal). So how does this game 'fit' in modern gameplay? Well you get to be that 'armchair' Bond, albeit for a relatively short time (gameplay length) and engage in the story lines and connecting stories from both Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace. The music is excellent throughout and the actor/actress voices are original. So, if you're a Bond fan, don't let the fact that this is a simple, straight-forward, uncomplicated shoot-em-up put you off. Let's face it, despite efforts to make him different, Bond is straightforward and uncomplicated chap. Enjoy this rampage. And for all those that felt those 'take that Blofeld, Goldfinger, Scaramanger" moments whilst watching the movies - now is the chance to dish out some vengence of your own. The wearing of a tux is optional whilst playing, but I'd suggest that the experienced 1st person gamers out there just go for '007' difficulty straight away. This is a game that, whilst the graphics are not quite as good as the PS3 has to offer overall, immerses you in the Bond world. Really good fun. ...more info
  • Fantastic
I love the game. I bought it for PS3. I haven't finished yet, but I think it is one of the best Bond games out now. The coolest part is that you get to play levels from the movie Casino Royale! That was a nice surprise. In the game, Bond has a flashback and that lets you play Casino Royale and it lasts quite a while. That was definitely the coolest part. I also love the 1st/3rd person design the game has.

The only thing lacking is the lack of FMVs. The story is mostly told by hearing M talking to somebody while showing a map and other pictures of people in the game. There are very few movies telling the story. Another cool part is that it is not only 1st/3rd person, but you get to fight in a Bond brawl- fist to fist the way only Daniel Craig can do it. Overall, I really love this and plan to play it again. ...more info
  • Unremarkable shooter
I generally enjoy 1st-person shooter games (especially the more stealthy, "thinking" games such as the Hitman Trilogy (Includes Blood Money, Silent Assassins, and Contracts)), but I wasn't very impressed with this one. The game basically walks you through all the missions, with prompts telling you what to do when, thereby decreasing whatever amusement one could potentially get from solving puzzles (see, for example Tomb Raider Legend. Things like deactivating surveillance cameras and "hacking" into computers and locked doors could be (and is, in other games) a lot more involving. The weapons choices are unremarkable, the fight scenes disturbingly redundant, and the melee attacks barely take thought.

Additionally, I've frankly seen better graphics on a PS2 engine than this game provides, and I questioned whether it was really made for the PS3, or just priced like it....more info
  • Really Great James Bond Game based off the Hit Movie.
I have to say this game is awesome it is based off of Casino Royal and Qunatum of Solace. Its great because you play as 007 and start off at the end of the first movie with Mr White. They did however extend this to create the first Level of play. Throughout the game he has flashback where you relive the past movie not just as a spectator but as a player you can chase the bomb maker like in the first movie and try to save your beloved from drowning like in the first movie as well as many other levels based off the first movie.
The game also looks amazing it uses a slightly modified Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Engine.
In all for the Price Amazon is selling this game it is well worth the money. I wouldn't have paid $60 for it but at or below $30 like what I paid for it is well worth it. You definately get more bang for you buck when you wait for games to drop in price and in these hard economic times to save money and still be able play hard is even more important....more info
  • Second only to Goldeneye!!1
This is an overlooked gem. This was a highly anticipated release for me. I have enjoyed every minute of this game. I have beaten it twice, and plan to beat it a third. It follows in the footsteps of another FPS Goldeneye. The snap on objects feature is very similar to Rainbow Six Vegas, but is smoother. The graphics are excellent using the COD 4 graphics engine. This is worth the money. The online is very similar to COD, but I don't like playing games online so don't take my word for it. The voice acting is even done by Craige. The tackdown features reminds me of the combat style of Connery in the classic Bond films. This game is highly recommended....more info

  • Worth the money
    Best bond game since Goldeneye.

I love the third person playing. You can set you target and then shoot. It is nice because you feel like you are really in the action, and can take sometime setting up until a grenade is throne where you are hiding.

Only problem with the game is that you can't play multiplayer just in your home with others on the one playstation. You can only play multi online. I wish these guys who design these games would keep that aspect into the multiplayer. Not everyone plays online all the time. What are suppose to do when you have friends over. I guess we will have to play Madden or other sports games becasue they undertand that concept. This is the only reason this game is getting four stars, or I would give it five....more info
