Samsung enhances the clarity of select LCD HDTVs by replacing the light-diffusing plastic face of traditional LCD HDTVs with a? natural black panel with a clear anti-glare shield. Reduced reflection of external light creates a new dimension in image clarity, highlighting black and darkened areas, enabling vibrant, more compelling colors and a brighter, clearer picture.? Black will never again appear grayish. Black details will show in vivid black even in dark scenes.

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)
You already know something about digital living. There¡¯s the TV and digital video recorder in your family room. (And another set in your bedroom.) You have a PC and digital printer in your office, along with a network attached storage device. And you¡¯ve copied all your music onto your portable music player and haven¡¯t had to open a CD case for years. But getting them to talk to each other can be pretty tough. Why is it still so difficult to send digital content from one device to another?
Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a collaboration of the world¡¯s leading consumer electronics, PC and mobile companies that has created design guidelines for a new generation of products that can work together ¡ª no matter the brand.
Think for a moment about all of the photos "locked away" on your home PC that you wish you could access while entertaining your friends and family. Now, thanks to DLNA enabled devices, a DLNA-enabled PC can be accessed from the comfort of your living room or family room via a DLNA-enabled HDTV, where you can enjoy your memories with friends and family, without having to deal with the hassle and non-intuitive "PCexperience".
Or, say you recently downloaded your daughter¡¯s birthday party video from your digital camcorder to your PC. Now you want to share it with your parents who are visiting. Without DLNA, you probably have to burn a DVD of the video or hook up the camcorder to the TV. With DLNA, you can just use your TV¡¯s remote to call up the video on your TV. That¡¯s it.
Super Patterned Vertical Alignment
Samsung¡¯s Super Patterned Vertical Alignment (SPVA) panel provides a 178-degree viewing angle from all four axes
Audio Features TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through any two-speaker playback system, including internal television speakers and headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the two hidden, downward-firing side-mounted 2.2-channel dome speakers built into the TV.
SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass.
TruSurround XT audio also adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
Stereo broadcast reception is offered for MTS and SAP with 181-channel capacity. A sound leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.
- Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
- TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
- The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.
- Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
- Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

- Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch
Did a lot of research into this item. Went to local stores in the area to see the same model, and also consumer reports. Has to be one of the best made and best picture quality's I have seen in a LCD television set. Was ordered from Amazon and was shipped by Sixth Avenue Electronics in NJ as the retailer. Took about a week for me to get it, it was shipped via truck, When they arrived with the unit, They brought it into the house unboxed it, placed it on the TV stand and plugged it in to make sure it was working before they left. As far as the setup of the unit, Not to much to tinker with out of the box, As this is in my living room so didn't have to change to much around, the Connection to the internet is a plus if you are going to show pictures that you have on the computer on the set. Also the USB port comes in handy if you have USB drive with pics and videos on it, this way you plug it in and can start viewing your photo's and homemade movies.
- samsung is tops
Great TV great price. Still havent found this TV any where for close to this price. Sweet picture....more info
- Happy With My Samsung
Overall, this TV has a nice picture although some of the channels that we watch look a little funny. I'm not sure what they would call the effect in the AV world, but some of the character outlines appear a little fuzzy with some channels. Other channels look perfect. And I have watched some HBO movies in HD and those look perfect. We have ATT Uverse and the TV is connected to the box with an HDMI cable. Adjustments are pretty straight forward although there are several to consider.
I was a little nervous about ordering such a high priced item via the Internet but Amazon deliverd as promised and I received my TV on time and in excellent condition. ...more info
The t.v. is everything I asked for. The picture quality is outstanding. I have already suggested this tv to my friends and family. ...more info
- GREAT TV!!! GREAT AMAZON SUPPORT!!!
First of all, the TV is exceptional!! After calibrating it with free settings I found on the internet, which used a state-of-the-art calibration device, it looks equal in picture quality to the superb calibrated display at my local Best Buy (they charge approx $300 for home calibration). High-def displays jump out at you. Standard def is also very good. My 11-yr old son loves playing his Nintendo on it. He says the scenes and sounds are too cool! Video clips and pics stored on my usb thumbdrive plug and play easily on the lcd via usb port located on the left side. I still need to buy a blue-ray player to experience the ultimate in viewing pleasure, but very happy with the quality of the speakers which includes an integrated woofer. Now here's the icing on the cake. Exceptional Amazon large tv service (THANK YOU CADENCE!!!). I did notice the halo-effect especially with all lights turned off and blinds closed. It didn't bother me as much as other reviewers, but I did mention it to CADENCE. The great thing was she offered me a 10% credit on my purchase which was already a great price considering no tax, shipping charges, and less than the 650 model. That's $143 back in my wallet. It will go to the purchase of my Samsung blue-ray player. Another issue was with my remote. It had a loose piece of plastic rattling around inside which couldn't be removed from the battery bay. CADENCE is going to send me a Samsung link so I can get a replacement. Be sure to register your lcd online to get the additional 3 months warranty and mail your proof of purchase to get the $200 NFL gift card. So my true cost for this great lcd was approx $1120. You can't beat this price anywhere!!
- great product, terrible delivery. return instead of replace.
I had read reviews about how fragile the glass bezel and 'touch of red' can be. I just did not expect the 'con' job of the Ceva delivery personnel. They obviously saw the damage to the plastic casing behind the bezel top left corner of the tv( how can you avoid seeing it as it is right in front of your face when you lift the tv ?). It was practically criminal how fast they rushed out of my house after they got my initials on the delivery forms. CEVA's customer service was no help either, the response was, "Ma'am, you need to call Amazon.com."
Amazon.com says they are out of stock of this TV, so Amazon will not replace the damaged tv. Only returns are possible. At this point, guess which one I chose ? I'd rather have an undamaged tv at a later date then a damaged one now.
Summary : Great TV at fantastic price. But beware of delivery service and check every inch of the product before you sign anything and let these people out your door....more info
- Solid Performer
Solid TV overall. No real complaints at all really. TV looked amazing out of the box and even better after changing calibration settings found on avsforum.com.
The red touch of color might not be a positive selling point for some, but it is much more subtle on the 750 vs. the 650.
This TV easily deserves 5 stars, however menu selections lag, often resulting in selecting the wrong option. Not really a huge problem, I'm just nitpicking at an otherwise beautiful display.
Updated woofer adds deeper sound output which can benefit those not using external speaker setups.
Halo effect is definitely present around the borders of the bezel, but in my opinion, is noticeable only if: 1. you are looking for it, and 2. if you are viewing it in the dark. With a light source next to/behind, this effect is not noticeable.
I would say I only have two complaints. 1. I wish I would have been able to afford the 52" 750 and 2. It has negatively impacted my workout routine due to increased TV watching.
- BEST TV BARNONE
Ipurchased this tv back in October of 08 knowing that its price was going to drop due to the 800 and 900 series being released. This tv is unbelievable right out of the box great setup with Amazon's CEVA delivery and even the FIOS guy said to me when hooking up FIOS that it was the best picture on any tv he had seen and stayed for a few minutes just to watch it. If you don't need all the extra side gadgets like web capabilities and what not just go with the 650 as it is just as good but it was only $100 cheaper when I got mine. The price is the same now as it was back in October when I bought mine....more info
- Extremely pleased
We are very happy with the Samsung 46 inch LCD HDTV. The picture is awesome. And the Touch of Red really makes it a handsome addition to our living room. We were extremely happy with the quick delivery and easy set up. Wonderful value for the price!...more info
- great purchase!
We shopped around for about 2 weeks and never thought we would find such a good tv online..I usually don't purchase these kind of items online but I couldn't find a better bargain and from now on I know I can.. from Amazon! This Tv is great, good quality, good price and shipped quickly! Looks great mounted on my wall! ...more info
- Great TV
I'll make this short. I bought the LN46A750 on Amazon ( actually shipped from 6ave ) and I can't say a single bad thing about this TV. The picture quality is amazing. The TOC is nice looking but not to over powering. Lots of tuning/tweaking options in the TV's settings to get it just how you want it.
I've never had a TV I didn't like and i liked my Toshiba LCD this one replaced but this TV is awesome. It stands out from any TV I've owned. If your in a room with a lot of sun light you may see a glare on the screen. I haven't seen this myself but i've read others have. I fully recommend this TV to everyone. You will enjoy it....more info
- Great Buy
Upon purchase I immediately connected with DirectTV, and for my first 19 days of use, I am completely satisfied. Much to my surprise, I was even able with DirectTV to bring in local TV channels with rabbit ears. With only a short time of using this set, I am quite satisfied. I don't have any negative comments....more info
- 4.5 out of 5 - I rounded up
I would give this LCD TV a 4.5 point score if I could. However, I rounded up to 5 because the flaws are minor ones in my opinion and do not warrant a full point deduction.
This is our first HDTV and the picture is amazing. The colors are crisp and the blacks look superb. I was concerned about glare at first because we have a lot of ambient light (from windows, doorways and a half wall) in our living room, but it has not been a problem. The connections are plentiful even though I could use a couple more legacy connections while I'm building up funds to upgrade my other equipment. My old progressive scan DVD player only outputs 480p and this TV upscales the picture beautifully. The Xbox 360 looks great on it and hopefully I'll get to see some Blu-ray content on it in the future. It works really well as a second monitor for the Laptop - digital pictures look great at 46 inches. Over the air DTV looks great too. The sound quality is pretty good. We only turn on the surround sound receiver for movies because the speakers are more than adequate for average daily use. The TOC feature is very subtle and doesn't detract from the viewing pleasure. I have yet to experience the "halo effect" on my set that many have commented on. It has taken a bit for me to get used to the short warm-up time for LCDs. Coming from a CRT with practically no warm-up time it seems longer than it really is. The Auto Motion Plus (AMP) feature is hit or miss. I'm not sure if I'll get used to it or not. With DVDs and the AMP on high, the picture looks over-processed to me. My wife's description was the most accurate, "it reminds me of a BBC documentary."
I was originally looking at the 650, but when I was about ready to purchase Amazon had the 750 listed for 80 dollars less than the 650. It seemed like a no-brainer to me when combined with the other offers/rebates at the time (late Jan 2009). The delivery was quicker than stated and it was nice having someone unbox it and put it on the TV stand for me. I also was able to go down the delivery check list before signing off on it (does it work, is there physical damage, do you get a picture on screen, etc). No matter what anyone says, the white glove delivery is worth it (maybe not at full price, but definitely when free) because you can easily see defects and refuse delivery on the item. Regular delivery only really allows for visible box damage, not defective products. I am more than satisfied with my purchasing experience.
My real complaints are minor because they don't affect my every day use. First of all, the internal storage is a great concept, but I misunderstood its purpose when reading the specs. I thought I would be able to access and utilize this space, but that is not the case. The internal storage only stores content from Samsung and so far I've been unable to figure out how to add content to it (even Samsung's additional content for download). Additional content must be loaded on a flash drive and accessed via the Wiselink port. It just seems kind of gimmicky and I think it could have been implemented so much better. Imagine having a 46" digital picture frame for parties, etc. My second complaint is the PIP feature. It is not a fully developed feature, as others have bemoaned. However, one annoyance for me in particular is that I can't even use it to view two broadcast channels using a digital converter box through the AV input. The only inputs that allow PIP are component, HDMI and PC. The limited functionality and difficulty involved in finding the PIP options in the menu baffle me. I had PIP on my previous CRT television and rarely used it, but it was fully developed and easy to use. I would be more inclined to use it on this set with the side-by-side feature if it were easier to use and fully functional. For this kind of money I would have expected a better PIP implementation. I can only hope that Samsung will correct some of this with a firmware update because some of the features have outstanding potential.
Overall this is a great TV for the money. The only thing that could make the 750 significantly better is LED backlighting. That is available on the 950 for about twice the price of this set. It is rumored the 2009 version will include the LED backlighting, but then it will likely be close to twice what I paid for this set too once it is released. If you can get a good buy on the 2008 version of the 750 it is well worth it.
Outstanding product very pleased.I thought it was 120Hz , I was a little disappointed that it was 60Hz. Even w/60Hz I have not experienced much pixilazation on sporting events . Product data on site was not clear.Delivery service was outstanding and very helpful with set up....more info
- Absolutely Worth Five Stars!
Bought it in Dec, this is undoubtedly one of the best TV out there, it's probably around $2200 in Canada so you are getting it for free at Amazon...comparatively speaking.
Blue Ray's are just incredible on this TV, and if you add a sound system, then you essentially have a personal cinema at home.
Worth every penny, certainly the best out there....more info
- Crystal Clear 120Hz at a great price

- On-Off Cycle of Death a real problem.
I have owned this tv for 5 months, then one day I turn it off and that's it. It now turns itself on and off automatically every 10 seconds or so with no picture or sound. I called Samsung customer service and no one could tell me what the problem is and I am stuck waiting for >3 weeks for a repair. Yeah the picture was great, but this is a known problem (on the internet) that apparently is not being fixed. Firmware updates don't work. I will never buy another Samsung product period. The customer service is horrible and the product is a big, black, expensive, and useless piece of electronics after just months. This is the first time I felt compelled to write a review on anything and would give 0 stars if I could. If you buy, get an extended warranty, preferrably not from Samsung. ...more info
- Great TV and good service.
Bought this TV to replace a Panasonic plasma. My viewing area has alot of ambient light so I wanted to go with an LCD. Very happy with this TV and Amazon was great with the delivery (they actually delivered on a Sunday!). No "halo" and minimal reflection from the screen. I would recommend buying this and recommend buying from Amazon....more info
I spent a LONG time researching (and more importantly, saving) for my upgrade to an HDTV as I'm sure most do. I was initially looking at the Samsung HDTVs, and changed my mind a few times between several different models.
After reading reviews I had my decision down to two models, this one and the Panasonic Viera with the THX certification. I read the differences between the 650 and 750 samsung and I really liked the look of the 750 better plus the features of the "better" audio with included woofer so when the 750 prices dropped lower than the 650, I jumped on it, and I have not been disappointed for one second.
This tv is incredible. The "halo" effect that you hear about is there slightly, but it is not a problem at all, I barely notice it and probably would notice it a lot less if I hadn't read about it so much in the forums.
The upgraded audio of the tv is really nothing special. The simulated surround sound does work well, but I had a projection tv prior that had great audio so that maybe why I don't have high grades for the audio on this tv, its good but does not stand out in my opinion.
Overall, this television is just stunning. I've had it about a month now and I still have a grin when watching it, its just amazing, the picture quality is second to none at the moment. The AMP settings are great and I really couldn't ask for anything more with a TV. My only regret is not buying the 52" model, but for the extra money I'd rather pick up a PS3!
I recommend going to AVS Forums and getting the audio and video calibration settings or having a pro calibrate the picture, it is well worth it!...more info

- Love it
Unbeatable price on Amazon for lot cheaper than Best Buy. It is not even close. 1530 against 2200, and no shipping charge and no sales tax for me. Just the price alone you feel you got a steal.
The bottom line is that picture quality is outstanding out of the box.
It is my first HDTV and watching HD program on my cable is simply unreal. Just like the commercial of FIOS, you can't stop saying WO...W!. Can't go back to SD. Now I have to suffer Comcast, overpriced and sucky HD lineup. ...more info
- Beyond my wildest imagination
Keep in mind these are my initial responses to the 46" 750 and so far the set has lived up to all expectations. At first I was somewhat hesitant to purchase this set, but after countless hours in forums and on review sites, I decided to take the plunge and bag me a 750 series. I read about the complaints of the halo effect and so far, although very SIGHTLY noticeable, I *rarely* take note of it and have genuinely enjoyed the capabilities of this television. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for an incredible piece of technology, as the 750 offers both audio and video superiority from many other sets that I have viewed/researched. Enjoy the magnificent quality of this picture as I have! ...more info
- LN46A750 - Everything that I expected!
I ordered this tv last year after MONTHS of research on LCD televisions and comparisons between brands. I went with this model because of the "future features" like the DLNA and network jack, but also because of the specs of this particular panel. A lot of people will tell you to just go with the 650 over the 750 because they are virtually the same, but they are not! The 750 actually has a better panel than the 650, according to some sites, and a better processor for that panel. If you need to find specs, go to the AVS forums and look them up by model.
The TV looked good right out of the box, but after some tweaking, it really looks fantastic! I used some calibration settings from AVS forums and WOW! Colors look rich and natural, not over-saturated and bright. Black levels on this tv are excellent (the 52 inch model is rated excellent by Consumer Reports) and the sound really isn't bad for TV speakers. The woofers built in make a difference in depth when you are listening.
Now, I have noticed the "halo effect" when all the lights are off and we are watching a movie with lots of bright backgrounds and such, but other than that, I never notice it. It isn't significant enough for me to make it a deal breaker. Some people also complain about the screen being too reflective. The screen actually is somewhere between a matte screen and a glossy. You will notice reflections if you have light behind you or a window behind you, but in my home, the only light we have is an overhead...all lamps are to the side, and are not visible when watching. So, the reflection doesn't bother me at all...it is quite minimal in my opinion. In fact, the screen actually provides extra black and color depth that I don't see on other people's HDTVs. (Sony, Sharp, etc...and those are good brands, as well.)
All in all, I am very happy with my purchase, and my family LOVES the tv. ...more info
- good while it works, terrible customer service
The picture and functionality were very good in the 45 days it worked. The only quibble would be with the sound - the rear firing speakers are almost useless, so an external sound system is a must.
The most important issue is that it abruptly died after a month and a half, as mentioned. At the time of this review I am one month later, the TV is under warranty, and it is still sitting in my basement dead. Samsung customer care is a disaster. After setting me up with the wrong local service, wasting a lot of time, they connected me with a local repair shop that ordered parts without checking to see what was wrong first! Of course they were the wrong parts. The request to Samsung to comply with the rule they had given me that they allow 3 weeks for repairs and then replace the item fell on deaf ears. There is no commitment from them on a time frame to do anything about it, so we are at the whims of the Gods... Also disturbing, the technician who came to my home (with the wrong parts...) told me these models were known to have huge problems, with the display and others, which is one of the reasons for the rapid succession of the next series of LCD's from Samsung.
