- Great product and service
Great product and very prompt service. Loading instructions very easy and found numerous problems on my computer....more info
- Easy install, but slows computer
Norton 360 V2.0 was easy to install and worked as advertised. However it slowed my computer to a crawl with all its features enabled. I find myself turning off Norton often because of the lack of speed. I am running Windows XP with SP3 and 512M of Ram on a Pentium IV 1.8 Ghz Dell.
I would not purchase this product again....more info
- Great Price and Works Well
Easy to install, easy to setup and seems to work well with out any negatives. Password storage feature is pretty cool as well as the auto back up feature to an external drive. Much improvement over older versions. ...more info
- PRODUCT IS SO, SO
I've used this product on 2 laptops and a desk top. This version isn't as easy. I find the computer freezes much too much now, so I give it a half and half...more info
- Software Causes Problems on Some Computers
I installed this product on three computers. Two seem to be working fine. The other had so many problems I thougth the PC was the problem. At least five programs including Google Earth and Turbo Tax would not even run. The PC frequently would not shut down but hang up.
I heard of another person experiencing these problems and he switched to Kaspersky Internet Security. I did the same and now I have no problems at all. I think Norton is a memory hog so be careful or buy Kaspersky - it is great. You can buy Kaspersky at Amazon for a substantially reduced price or try it for free at the Kaspersky website....more info
- Does a great job, excellent for peace of mind
Easy to install, easy to adjust settings, does a great job overall, but is definitely a bit of a resource hog. ...more info
- If it installs GREAT, if not, NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT
I gave this a one star rating because there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. After 2 hours on hold with the 800 toll free line and my NORTON 360 STILL, after 1 HOUR and 25 MINUTES, STILL trying to connect to THEIR interactive on line customer support center, I am giving up. Oh, and I have high speed DSL and a new computer running Vista, so my compter is NOT the problem.
I will eventually get this software running, but next year, I WILL NOT RENEW. I will look for another product.
I had read other reviews that said Norton CUSTOMER SUPPORT was awful, I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED.
- Norton 360 software
This was a great deal through Amazon. The incredibly low price and fast shipment made this one of the best deals I have ever had....more info
- Norton 360 better than expected.
I was really impressed with Norton 360. It found a trojan and fixed it right away. I had McAfee beforehead and it did not detect this problem. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in protecting their laptop or desktop....more info

Norton 360 is the best complete Antivirus program out there. It is very easy to set up & it does everything mostly on its own. ...more info
- Nice product & good customer service
Though it seemed to me as the best anti-virus software available in the market but I was a bit hesitant to buy it because of some negative reviews regarding the customer service. But since I bought it I have received excellent performance from the product as well as the customer service department. You need decent amount of memory in your PC if you are running this with lots of other applications. I use this on my laptop which has 2 GB RAM and runs Vista. Never had any problem. Only once it was showing an error regarding the validity of the license but when I contacted customer service online, they were on it within few minutes and the total uninstallation, reinstallation and reconfiguration of the software was done within 1 hour in front of my eyes and with very professional and cooperative individual. I am very satisfied and recommend this to everybody....more info
- Norton 360
Recent in a long line of Norton/Symantec products. Overall, good product.. still not the equivalent of Systemworks. Also missing from this product is the visual display of what happens during disk optimization. Several competitor's products still include a disk map gladly showing you what's going on. No explanation as to why it's missing in this product. Also, in years past, Systemworks would gladly move system files from the center of the disk to join other files closer to the boot track. No where to be found here, I guess if they think they don't have to show you it's not doing it, then you won't know the movement isn't taking place. On the whole, it's a novice product, but if you want something with a little more detail... look somewhere else....more info
- Never again
Wow. I installed Norton 360 about a month ago. I work off of Windows XP Home edition. I have had nothing but issues from the start.
At first, the installation of Norton and compatibility issues with ServicePack MS installation did something to my registry and completely wiped out my wireless internet connection. Norton's support was of absolutely no help - it was only after speaking with a very kind MS support person that they were able to fix my corrupt registry and get me back on track. In looking on the web this is not an uncommon occurance.
Then the backup problems began. Norton makes it difficult to identify and select files - I went through about 2 hours of checking and unchecking boxes only to find that the selections had defaulted back to the original the next time around even after saving the settings. Of course, the default settings automatically back up a huge amount of content well exceeding the "free" allowance and creating the alert to buy more online storage.
To my further frustration, my computer is now much slower than it has ever been and trying to do anything with Norton running a process in the background is near impossible. I'm constantly getting low virtual memory notices even though my computer meets all of the system requirements listed on the product box. Just today I began to get the error messages as outlined in some of the other reviews.
I had sworn off Norton 3 years ago but decided to give them another try - feeling that after all this time and the success of the company they MUST have improved their product. Apparently, the success of the company is due to their ability to suck the money away from unsuspecting consumers. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Never again....more info
- Running great
I've been using NAV 2.0 for two months and it's been working great for me. Oddly, the most impressive part has been their support. I didn't realize at the time of my purchase that NAV 3.0 was ready to release. When I went to do my initial review, it said [OLD VERSION] and sure enough there was an update. I contacted support about it and I have to say it's the most thorough support I've received in years. Although I could have easily handled the update myself (it was free), the support guy was insistent on remotely controlling my desktop and walking through the process completely and to my satisfaction. It was one of those situations where it makes you feel like you at least invested in a company that does more than farm out their support.
As for the product, I've had none of the issues reported by other users. My first suspect on some of their problems is that NAV by default determines its own schedules on running checks (updates, scans, defrag, etc) when it thinks your machine is idle. I've left this feature on and it's obvious (at least to me) when I come to my PC and start working/gaming that it was in the middle of something. Although I haven't had an issue with it, I've thought about setting specific times for the activities (2a). I didn't care much for the online backup feature, but that's not why I bought the product. Integration in IE and Firefox has been great. I'm running Vista x32 and NAV has been as transparent as what I would expect. With the included 3 licenses for your home machines, I've got my wife's and son's machine running like champs as well.
Definitely recommend this product - to the point that I'm putting it on my father's machine (someone that really could benefit from hand holding support). ...more info
- Norton 360 has been quite dependable
I have been using Norton 360 for about fourteen months and just renewed my susbscription. I found the product to be very reliable. It automatically updates virus definitions and performs scans and every operation that I have programmed it to do. The only aspect I am not certain about is how good it is in stopping ads from infiltrating my system. Therefore, in addition to Norton 360, I have had to download and periodically run other adware programs.
My one advice to new users is to not update to version 3.0 when it comes out. I believe it is preferable to wait until the subscription expires and then update. And, when updating, it is best to completely uninstall the old version before installing the new....more info

- Norton has been very, very good to me
I wrote a very witty review that you would have, I'm sure, enjoyed immensely, but Amazon.com lost it in transit to the next page.
I said something about it not handling spyware and having to dial down the firewall protection to make the start-up work faster.
That was about it, except I remember saying the latter was probably my computer's problem for not having enough RAM or ROM or GIGS or whatever. I suppose you can tell that technology is rapidly passing me by....more info
- Good - but not great
This program is comprehensive, but seems to slow the PC down and is a bit intrusive in its bubbles and notifications. As far as I can see, it has not made any errors, the updates are automatic, and I have not had any problems. I am using it with XP2....more info
- Painful install but fine now
Based on my experience, I would ONLY recommend Norton 360 as a fresh install. Prior to my being able to install Norton 360 I was required to uninstall Norton System Works, Norton Anti-Virus and Norton Internet Security. Uninstalling Norton Ghost brought the process to all stop. (It is part of System Works) I eventually had to contact Norton Tech Support for assistance in removing Norton Ghost. I thought all had gone well after Norton taking control of my computer for almost an hour......until I restarted and found that my registry had been totally mutilated. I was unable to use the internet for any assistance at all and when I contacted Norton by phone the woman with whom I spoke said that since I did not have any Norton products installed on my computer (true...) that my problems didn't involve them. I ended up having to wipe my hard drive and start over from scratch. It ended up being two solid days of work to regain use of the computer. Luckily I had back-up's of my files. Now, with what amounts to a fresh install, Norton 360 works fine. But believe me, I was not a happy camper for several days! I had read that others had had problems with an "non-virgin" install and only recommended it for new installations. BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...more info

- Don't Waste Your Time or Your Money
I've been using Norton 360 for over a year for two features, anti-virus protection, and an online back up service. Both of these failed.
My wife's laptop with Norton 360 installed and up to date virus definitions got infected with a virus in December. The virus took over Norton and disabled it. I reinstalled Norton, updated the virus definitions, and tried to root out the virus. Norton didn't help. I checked their online support and indeed they couldn't provide a fix.
At this point I reformatted the drive and reinstalled Windows and all applications, including Norton 360. I began receiving Windows fatal errors, which pointed to Norton. Their online support claimed it was a memory problem.
I replaced the memory, and for good measure replaced the hard drive. Another new install. Everything worked fine until I installed Norton 360. I was then receiving continual fatal errors. I uninstalled Norton, switched to McAfee, and everything works fine.
I then went about trying to restore the data from Norton's online back up site. I needed to do so from a different computer , because Norton crashed the original computer at boot-up. I could retrieve a limited amount of data, but not all of it. I spent more than 7 hours over 4 calls with Norton support. Their support was very poor and they frequently provided wrong information.
I was finally told that I could only restore the data back to the original machine from which the data came, and it had to be running Norton 360. I explained that the original machine crashed every time I loaded 360, so I need to download the files to another machine and then transfer them manually. Their plan was to completely change the settings on my new machine to be identical to the original machine, including serial number, etc. I then decided to ask for a refund.
Well, it ends up a refund is not so easy if you bought the software from a retailer. If you bought online from Norton they will give you a refund immediately, but if you bought from a retailer you need all original packaging, original receipt, everything.
I've purchased a lot of Norton products over the years and they could see when I installed, what the product key is, etc., but that was not good enough. Their answer was "don't buy from a retailer, buy online directly from Norton."
So I wasted weeks of my time troubleshooting, hours on the phone with Norton, and bought unnecessary hardware, all thanks to Norton. ...more info
