Customer Reviews:

  • Sleek Backpack
I bought this for my husband's first Father's day, he loves photography and with a new baby he is forever reaching for his gear. This backpack looks great and holds a decent amount of gear. One realy great thing is that you can only access the goods inside from the back side of the bag which means no sticky fingers when you travel- your gear should be safe!!!! It even has a handy dandy tripod attachment to carry one....more info
  • Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Red)
Back pack color and durability is great. However, it lacked mini pockets for little misc items like batteries, charger etc.

It is roomy to fit my: Canon 40d with 16-35mm attached to it (without hood), support my 580exII, 70-300mm, 15mm fisheye, 50mm, st-e2....more info
  • Great backpack for your DSLR
I bought this for my wife. She has a couple of Nikons and a bunch of lenses. They all fit into this backpack which surprised the heck out of me. (obviously not huge lenses) She is very happy with the backpack as it does provide a degree of security having the opening at the back. I've worn it too and it feels very comfortable on your back. It can be a pain not having easy access to the camera all the time but you can't have it both ways - easy access for you would mean easy access for others too. I checked out a bunch of backpacks before choosing this one and stand by that choice. Great product....more info
  • Lowepro Flipside 300
I picked this pack up just prior to a 2 week vacation. I carried a 20D with the 17-40 f4 and 70-200 f2.8. (it will handle a 1D-series body). I also put a video camera in the small pouch inside plus 1.4x converter, spare batteries, chargers and a few other items. Padded panels are easily adjusted to accommodate your gear.
I thought it was very comfortable to carry. The best part is the zippered panel is against your back which is a great security feature.
My only complaints are the zippered side pocket doesn't hold much and the inside pouch for the video camera needs to have a half-moon instead of a straight zipper to increase ease of access.
I would highly recommend this pack. It's a clean design, well made, comfortable and keeps equipment secure....more info
  • Nice Case!
Highly recommend this camera case! Handles my Canon 40D camera with my Canon 70-200mm lens quite nicely. Also, holds two other small to medium size lenses. Access is through the back...so you will have to take it off to access the interior. If you are looking for a pack for shooting sports or an event that requires a couple different lenses, this is a good, well-made, inexpensive pack....more info
  • Great Product
I purchased this backpack for a trip to south america and the security of having it only open from the back is a big plus. The pack is rigid and well padded and I do not worry about my gear inside getting damaged. The pack feels as if was built to last with durable materials and solid stitching. I use this pack for day hikes and such and find that it holds all of my necessary equipment (XTi camera body, 2-3 lenses, a few filters, tripod, memory cards and various other accessories), while not be overly large and cumbersome to carry around all day. I would recommend this product to a friend....more info
  • Very Nice Kit Bag
This backpack is perfect for a small-ish kit. I have a large DSLR with 4 lenses of varying sizes and this pack fits them all with room to spare for my battery charger, cables, memory cards, a small toolkit, flashlight and many filters.

Good for the serious amateur....more info
  • Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack
I needed a backpack that would carry my camera, standard zoom lens, large lens and accessories, as well as the tripod. I recently went to Alaska with this backpack, and it worked out great; fit well into the carry-on spaces on planes, buses, and trains. I would highly recommend this pack. ...more info
  • nikon d90 with kit lense and 50mm prime
This product is pretty good and fits my needs. I currently have a nikon d90 with kit 18-105 lense and a 50mm prime lense. These two fits in there with no problems. I also got my handled camecorder and cords for both camera and camecorder, with charger and all will fit in the bag very easily. I liked this over the flipside mostly because it is more secure as I plan to do a lot of traveling. Secondly, I feel it has a bit more carry space than the flipside. My main things against it is that it is a bit pricy. But I think it is still a very good investment for 1k camera. Only time will tell how well it holds ups and how long it lasts. But for now, it is a pretty good bag for the price....more info
  • Great function and value; provides security from theft
I highly recommend this bag because it is my everyday shooting bag. It can hold one camera body, a few lenses, an external flash, accessories, memory cards, water bottle, tripod, and probably a little bit more. There isn't as much room for non-camera items like the Lowepro Fastpack has, so this is more of a dedicated camera bag instead of a hybrid camera-and-other-stuff bag. However, there is a dedicated tripod "harness" that the Fastpak doesn't have. The biggest plus for me is that this bag opens up on the "underside", or the side that is against your back. That means that people can't unzip your bag while it's on your back and steal your stuff. Here is my full list of advantages and disadvantages:

    Pros:
    - very well built
    - can hold enough everyday camera gear
    - can hold tripod
    - has chest and waist harness straps for added stability
    - opens up on the "underside" of the backpack, which makes it difficult for people to steal your gear
    - can hold some everyday items, like keys, a small sandwich, etc.
    - has a water bottle mesh side pocket
    - extremely comfortable due to good padding, which also protects your gear

    Cons:
    - have to take bag off completely in order to access your camera
    - not enough room for a lot of other things, especially laptop

As you can see, the list of cons is a short one. I debated for a long time between this bag and the Fastpack 250. I like the side opening of the Fastpack, which would allow me to access my camera quickly. I also liked the ability to carry a laptop in the Fastpack, along with a lot more non-camera gear in the Fastpack's upper compartment. But ultimately, I wasn't looking to lug my laptop around with me everyday, and I needed security more than I needed fast access (fast access also means easier for people to steal your camera). The Flipside has a small compartment inside where I store my keys, extra filters (I have 77mm filters -- not small), a portable hard drive, USB thumb drives and other small things. I can even fit a decent soft cover book, like the Photoshop CS3 guide, on top of my camera. Plus I wanted the option of carrying a tripod. If you want to carry your camera with a few lenses, tripod and accessories, then this bag would suit you well. If you want to carry your laptop, your lunch, a small pack of CDs and a book, but not as many lenses, then the Fastpack would suit you better.

This is what I currently have in my Flipside 300. This is my everyday shooting gear. When I need to do sports photography with large lenses or carry a second camera body, I use a much larger bag.

    - Canon Rebel XTi with battery grip
    - Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 L lens (attached to XTi 99% of the time)
    - Canon 50mm f/1.8mm lens
    - Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens
    - Canon Speedlite 580EX II (straightened out)
    - Giottos Q.ball rocket blower

In summary, if you need a dedicated camera bag with a little room for other things, and also don't want to worry about getting your stuff stolen, then this is the perfect bag for you. If you want a hybrid bag to hold a lot of other things and not as many camera lenses, but still fits an SLR body, then I would recommend the Fastpack....more info

  • Very practical
I find this to be very practical and easy to handle. I have an EOS 1D Mark III and it fits well with a nice telephoto lens. Tripod also fits well on the back. Great for travelling....more info
