Virus detection and notification.

Quarantine potentially infected objects.

Using the Internet safely and securely

Secure surfing. The solution analyses web pages and blocks potentially malicious web-based content. It also blocks pop ups and ads, which are not simply irritating: virus writers often use ads to install Trojans that steal your confidential data or give the Trojan's owner access to your computer.

Privacy Control. Many malicious programs attempt to locate and harvest user IDs and passwords for online bank accounts, auctions, shops, email, payment systems, chat rooms, online games and etc from Windows Protected Storage. Kaspersky Internet Security monitors and blocks all attempts to collect and forward your confidential data from this storage area.

Protection from phishing. Kaspersky Internet Security filters out phishing emails and protects you from accessing websites run by phishers who use social engineering to fool you into sharing your banking or online payment information.

Parental Control. Parents can protect their children from online predators by creating blacklists of individual websites, as well as identifying categories of forbidden content such as drugs, pornography and so on. These lists can be customized by user type for children, teens or adults. In addition, parents can manage their children's Internet experience by limiting the amount of time they spend online.

Anti-virus protection and more

Protection from all of today's Internet threats. Kaspersky Lab combines three protection technologies to protect you against viruses, Trojans, worms, keyloggers, rootkits and other threats. This means that you are safe from spyware, adware, pornware, crimeware and anything else today's cyber criminals invent.

Firewall. The inbuilt personal firewall provides new generation protection from intrusions and data leaks. The default settings for popular applications control network and Internet activity using the IDS/IPS to prevent hackers from taking over your computer or stealing your data. Stealth mode allows you to surf safely and invisibly, protecting you from becoming a target for hacker attacks.

Anti-spam protection. The anti-spam module uses a combination of filtration methods to protect you from spam targeting you personally: white and black lists of senders and content, self-modifying algorithms for text analysis, graphical spam analysis and more.

Self-protection. Today virus writers begin their attack on your computer by disabling anti-virus protection. Kaspersky Internet Security is designed to block all attempts to disable protection, leaving you to work and play securely.

Restoring your data and your system

Rollback of malicious changes. Kaspersky Internet Security monitors system and application behavior for suspicious behavior. Once malicious behavior is detected, the process is blocked and any changes caused by malicious code are rolled back. Your system is clean and your original data is intact.

Rescue disk. Creating a rescue disk is quick and easy using the built in wizard in Kaspersky Internet Security. If your computer is ever attacked by a virus, you can restore and disinfect your system right away by yourself using the rescue disk you created even if the operating system has been damaged.

Features:
  • Integrated protection from all Internet threats; protection of confidential data
  • Three protection technologies against new and unknown threats: 1) Hourly automated database updates, 2) Preliminary behavior analysis, 3) On-going behavior analysis
  • Protection from viruses, Trojans and worms, as well as from spyware and adware
  • Real-time scanning for email, Internet traffic and files; protection from viruses when using ICQ and other IM clients; protection from keyloggers, rootkits, and more

Customer Reviews:

  • Kapersky Internet Security
I really like Kaspersky. You can update the software on line at no cost, provided you are within the time period of the license dates. You can also easily renew your subscription on line.
If you have the "internet security" version, you don't need the stand alone anti-virus.
There is a live "customer care" number, if you want to spend hours looking for it, but it is available and they seem quite nice.
All in all, I like Kaspersky very much......more info

  • the WORST PIECE OF SOFTWARE AND I GOT RIPPED OFF!
This garbage for software slowed down my computer to a standstill. a brand new computer that stopped functioning. An hour with tech support yielded no results since they don't' know what they are doing or saying.

secondly, i was suppose to get $25 dollars rebate from the company for this piece of junk, but the company STIFFED ME and never issued the rebate even though i called several time requesting it. they sited some nonexistant reason why i can't get my rebate, and to this day i still can't get a straight answer from them.

so you want to get ripped off and get your computer to stop working, get this software.

  • wonderful internet protection
I have in the past used Norton for my internet security and it was always asking me questions that I couldn't answer. I started using Kaspersky last year and found that it protects me without those questions. It just sits quietly, working to protect me and I don't need to do anything other than my normal computer work. I give it 5 stars. Excellent product....more info
  • The worst one of the lot
I installed this and it was sooooo bad and never caught some of the virus. The system came to a stop because it wanted to scan all the time. Total waste of time and money to even consider this as a good software. There are thousands who may disagree with me....

I could NOT remove this junk from my system and had to call the company to give me some removal program from their site. The built in remove function does NOT remove it... always pop up and want to scan without some of the functions and crash the machine.

Took me three weeks to get rid of this junk.
I went back to my trusty PcCillin from trend micro.
Never had a virus in 10 years when using their software and much easier on the system scans.

  • Almost too Good!!
I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 (3-user) so I could load it in my computer and my daughter's laptops. This software is very protective of my system. It has so many settings; I could see where it might be a little difficult for people not completely computer literate to figure out how to utilize its full potential. This software protects you in every area, from being on the internet to scanning your emails before you open them. It can become a little annoring if the settings are set too high. But once you get the hang of it, you'll be so glad you bought it. I guess most importantly, it gives you real piece of mind that your system is protected fully.
It will not slow your system down. And it does not take over your computer like many of the other brands. And Amazon performs great as usual. I've been a member of Prime since it's beginning and never had anything but great things to say about the service I have received.

  • Worst product ever!!!
This product, I am sorry to say, is the worst. I own a HP pavillion elite m9150f desktop pc with 750 gigs of memory and has a quad core processor at 2.4 Ghz but this product makes my computer run awful for some reason. I honestly hate this software! Every time I run the complete scan feature it makes my computer crash. It never finishes the scan cause it crashes the damn computer. I don't understand it? Furthermore, it is incredibly difficult to get assistance for my problems. In short, I want my money back! As soon as I get the chance I'm going to purchase norton 360 and stick with that product. Believe me when I tell you "DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!"

One more thing, my brother had the same problem with this software. He has Windows XP and I have Windows Vista and this stupid software made his computer crash even more than mine (first posted on june 16, '08).

    follow up:
today is Oct. 11, 2008 and I still haven't been able to get this program working right. I recently caught a virus on my PC, but when I ran the five virus scan features nothing was detected. I called HP and they said that this anti-virus just wasn't powerful enough to protect my PC. Thus, I have just purchased norton 360. I still DO NOT recommend Kaspersky software; but if you do buy this software make sure you have a ton of time to figure it out and have tons of patience to get your computer working right after it crashes and/or catches a virus. Good luck....more info
  • Long-time happy customer
I've used Kapersky Internet Security for years and love it. It is efficient, easy to use and not a memory hog like Norton! I recently purchased a new PC, which included a trial version of Norton. I immediately uninstalled Norton and loaded Kapersky. My husband stuck with Norton for years. I finally convinced him to give Kapersky a try, and he's totally amazed how much faster his programs load now. Best of all, it stops more intruders than Norton!

  • A good choice for users of all levels of expertise
I had been using Zone Alarm Security Suite for several years, and while it was adequate as far as protection goes, it was somewhat bothersome, asking me questions every time I tried to download anything. Being a novice in computer technology, I found the information Zone Alarm Security suite provided for me not easily understandable at all. After reading the reviews by customers at Amazon, I decided to give Kaspersky Internet Security a try when my ZA was due for renewal. After using Kaspersky for almost a month now --I'm very satisfied! The included User's Guide has been very useful in helping me to understand how to learn to get the most out of the suite as far as customizing settings for my particular system usage. The default settings were for the most part, very adequate for my use, and the program suite runs transparently in the background without interuptions like I experienced with my previous suite. The installation was flawless and easy for a bonehead like myself. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating was, (being the novice I am),I had to refer to the very excellent user's guide a few times to learn how to schedule some special scans I wanted to run. The Suite's event log provided me with excellent information on a problem I experienced with a shutdown stall I had a few days ago, giving me information I could use to solve the problem....more info

  • Replacement for Norton
Long time user of Norton. Installed Norton Internet Security on three computers and have had entirely too much trouble with two of the computers. Slow downs, random lockups with hours of overseas support that really sucked. Renewal came up and decided to try Kaspersky. Installed and had trouble immediately! Computer (Dell 2.6 mhz, 1 gig memory, XP professional) is a server for two restaurant IBM POS (point of sale) terminals (Windows 2000). The screen update for the two terminals slowed to an unacceptable level. Had to disable Kaspersky. Checked the website and found there were numerous complaints about bogging down the computer (just like Norton). Suggested fix was to download the previous issue. The previous issue worked and performs much better than Norton. Slow down gone and boots up much faster without error (Norton screwed up if you tried to use it for the first five minutes). Loaded Kaspersky on my other two computers(Dells - desktop and a protable all with one gig memory) without problem (older previous issue). Recommned Kaspersky but check the website for issue information problems. Norton was so bad that Kaspersky is looking good even with the slow down issue....more info
  • Time to change for the better.....
I build and service computers. I have made plenty of money cleaning up or converting computers which had Norton on. I used and recommended PC-Cillin for many years until about 2006. Trend Micro has fallen from its lone pedestal and now believes in poor to no service when you need help. In 2007 and 2008, their program has been ignoring many malwares and does not do a very good job of cleaning up infected systems. So in 2008 I switched, and I also switched all my customers over to Kaspersky, and so far it has proven superior in many aspects. Whatever you try though stay away from Norton and McAfee as well...they are both crap....more info
  • So far so good
I got a new computer and I needed virus protection. I've always used Norton, but that slowed my computer way down. Two techs suggested I go with Kaspersky so I did and it works great for me. I have Vista. Make sure before installing it that you have no other anti-virus software on your computer because I forgot to remove the Norton that the computer came with and they clashed and I had to do everything over again. 2nd day I had it operating, it warned against a Trojan virus on a website.
Scans didn't take that long either. I paid way more in the store for it than on here!

  • Much better than ZoneAlarm
Recently purchased this at Amazon and overall am very happy with the firewall. Some people may be put off by the initial training mode, but it is worth the work for peace of mind. I used to use zone alarm suite for the past 4 years but recently they have become unstable to say the least. I look forward to Kaspersky to keep up the good work!...more info
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0
I purchased this product based on the reviews of CNET and other on line sources. I have only been using it for a few weeks as of 08/14/08. Perhaps it's just me but I have found it difficult to use and confusing as to how to properly run all the various options. I had been using Trend Micro and it was fairly simple to to understand and use. If Kasperskey lives up to it's reputation I will be pleased. ...more info
  • No Troubles Installing It [...]
After having my Norton Antivirus expire recently, I was hesitant to renew another year of Norton headaches, decided to try something different and after reading mixed reviews on various Internet Security, I settled on (Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3 user). So far so good.

    Pros:
Installing this thing was easy compared to other internet security products, I've been a Computer Technician for 7 years and I have tried almost all the Security software in the market today and this one was by far the easiest to install, during this period, very little user interaction is needed, it recognizes all the programs that need internet access and immediately recognizes threats on your PC during installation, also the option to leave Windows Firewall (optional) running along side with no conflicts and the ability for this software to automated hourly updates against the latest threats free, which makes this product the most updated every month, that's important.

Users need to keep in mind that installing/running this product with traces of other security orphan files left behind during the uninstall process with cause conflict and instability, so the best thing to perform first is to remove the old software with the Add/Remove utility in Windows, restart the PC, then head to the Registry (Using the Run Command enter: Regedit) and carefully look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Symantec for example and delete this file or the company you was running, then look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec Folder and delete it, close out the editor and restart PC, then proceed to install this product.

I performed a system wide scan (Recommended Monthly) rather quickly considering the size of my Hardrive and found 50 worm/trojan items Norton Antivirus never recognize for an entire year, way to go Norton and disinfected them during the scan automatically without my input, Anti-File, Mail, Web and Spam are always scanning the system constantly needing little user interaction never asking how to proceed. I personally like the Parental control feature which limits online time and access to forbidden sites with tracking, good for monitoring children and visitors, (Specially the latter)...lol... The product comes pre-configured, but you can change settings as you wish. Read the Manual (Recommended) to learn more additional tips and features.

I like the fact that it needs the least amount of processor, memory and bandwidth resources of any product I used before, usually these security suites are resource hogs, clogging the system and slow up overall performance, not this product, my computer is performing faster than ever without a hitch, and I'm very pleased.

    Conclusion:
Overall a solid Internet Security Suite for 3 computers, Free Technical Support, Hourly Automated Updates, Firewall, Privacy and Parental Control and Impressive System Performance (My Favorite) and a great price (If You Can Get the CashBack Rebate). What else can you ask for? I hope this review helps you, Good Luck.

  • Severely Slows Launch of ANY Graphic Applications
As a long time Norton user, I purchased this software because it got great reviews and was said to not bog down the system by running in the background all the time (which Norton automatic update does). Well after using it for a month, I'm reluctantly going back to Norton. Kaspersky is AWFUL!!! It severely slows down the launch of any Graphic software and Adobe applications (Photoshop, Acrobat, and AutoCad ~ the main software I use). I've even left the room to go get something from the fridge and come back and the application still hasn't opened. As soon as I pause Kaspersky, the application launces right up. I FIND MYSELF PAUSING KASPERSKY CONSTANTLY. I just wanted an internet protection software that protects my computer without knowing its there all the time slowing my computer down. WELL, KASPERSKY DEFINITELY ISN'T THE ANSWER! If you are a graphic artist (like me) or use any graphic programs, FORGET USING KASPERSKY. What a waste of money!!!...more info
  • Good combination. Strong, everything you need, nothing you don't.
I had never heard of Kaspersky before looking over independent testing results comparing it with other security suites and antivirus programs. It looked good on the ratings, it was comparable in price, so I took a chance and bought it. Does a good job, so far as I can tell. Of course I don't know whether it's saved my computer from attack or not, but it seems capable. And the best part: LOW USAGE OF RESOURCES!! Doesn't noticeably slow down the computer at all, even while it's updating its databases, or running a scan.

Only downside is that it got a bit annoying at first while it was learning what programs to trust and what programs not to. But now that it's learned, I have no problems whatsoever.

Bottom line: worth every dime, and then some.

  • Old Version
When I ordered this product, I was to beleive it was the current version. It was not. I had to download the current version off of the internet, which of course, requires lots more time and trying to get compatiable with my computer. I paid for the current version $54.00. I should not have received a lesser version and end up upgrading and downloading on the internet....more info
  • No Problems With 3 Installs
I decided to branch out after years of being a Norton man and have no regrets in the 2 weeks I have used Kaspersky. All my programs run smoother than before, but Kaspersky slightly messes with my AOL program making it think it restarted, but with no performance problems. While some reviews complain about the slowness of the initial scan, I was pleased with the thoroughness of the scan and Kaspersky found a few suspicious files that Norton had apparently missed. I installed Kaspersky on a laptop and two desktop computers and found it's best to remove the old anti-virus/Internet security program before installing the new. ...more info
  • Going back to Norton
Slow scanner cumbersome setup uses alot of system resources not easy to set up or use. I will be going back to Norton once my subscription is over. It takes more than 45 min to scan for viruses and the firewall actually ruined my network setup. I do not suggest buying this product. ...more info
