Product Description

Life isn't fair. Most women know it. But what can you do about it? Plenty...if you're part of the Sisterhood. On the surface, these seven women are as different as can be - but each has had her share of bad luck, from cheating husbands to sexist colleagues to a legal system that often doesn't do its job. Now, drawn together by tragedy, they're forging a bond that will help them right the wrongs committed against them and discover inner strength they didn't know they had. Growing bolder with each act of justice, the Sisterhood is learning that when bad things happen, you can roll over and play dead - or you can get up fighting... In the tradition of The First Wives??? Club, Weekend Warriors is a slam-bang, take-no-prisoners tale of survival, sweet revenge, and the healing power of friendship.

Customer Reviews:

  • Good series
This was a fun read and I quickly moved on to the next books in the series, I am currently on the 4th book and still hooked!...more info
  • Revenge - not for the faint hearted
Well I certainly did not expect this from Fern Michaels. I don't normally read her but I was desperate for some reading material so I thought the title was interesting and guess I didn't read enough of the blurb to get what this book was about.

I know there are men who are such total bad guys that they deserve some really nasty punishment. But sorry guess I am way too squeamish for this type of book.

I am not sure I want to read the other books in this series. If the method used in this is a sign, I shudder to think what might be the next method of payback.

I read to be entertained and reading about something like this does not entertain me, not one bit.

I can't believe so many women read this and actually said hoorah. Well violence only begets more violence... I sure don't want to read a book about what a man might do to a woman who did him wrong... OH! we already have books like that .. Serial killers out there stalking women who represented their abusive mother and torture and kill in revenge for the pain they suffered.
Well at least these gals aren't crazy or demented and they don't kill their targets so that is okay isn't?
Think I will pass on the next books in this series

  • Sick and twisted, do not waste your money or time
I agree with all the 1 star reviews. I too, wish I could give it 0 stars. The characters had no depth and took unbelievable risks in exacting their revenge. The whole thing was creepy and unrealistic. The people who deserve justice are those of us readers who wasted our money on this sick and twisted book. I threw it across the room when I was done. ...more info
  • Disappointing and disgusting
I've been a Fern Michaels fan for almost 30 years now, but this book was a real disappointment. Fern Michaels takes what should be an emotionally-charged topic--women seeking justice when the system fails them--and reduces it to a voyeuristic aura. Aside from the inherent problems with castrating males in a tractor-trailer, the first operation reads as a clinical how-to, sounding plucked verbatim from WebMD or some other online surgical site. We don't get any feel for how Catherine reacts to gaining her revenge. Narration is flat, but that could be because the prose itself is blase and distanced from the action. The dialogue is superficial and juvenile. Errors in research abound--from truck drivers "keeping" empty trailers on their rigs to solar energy running thousands of megawatts of computers in an underground bunker. Aside from some errors already mentioned how about a woman who's never driven a manual transmission spending five minutes toodling in an empty parking lot and is suddenly an expert?
Too bad. This could've been something stellar.

  • Definitely A Surprise Read!
This book blew my mind. At last a group of women who go after men to get justice and prevail! Bravo! I cheered for this little band of savy ladies from the first page to the last. I have to admit, the book and the contents surprised me. But then, Fern Michaels never writes the same book twice, that's why I like her books. No same old, same old here. If this is going to be a new series, I can't wait to read the next one.
Each of the characters was so real and the punishment so apt. I even laughed in parts of it. Who among us doesn't want revenge for some wrong in our lives but don't have the guts to do something about it? One reviewer said the characters weren't sympathetic. Huh? Were they supposed to be sympathetic? Was Charles Bronson sympathetic when he went after the people who killed his wife and ruined his daughter? Is it okay for men to do wicked things but not women? I applaud the author, the publisher and the finely drawn characters in this fast reading book which I read in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I also liked the cover and didn't find it trashy at all. I knew when I picked it up that it would have suspense in it because of the cover. I loved this story and can't wait to read more on the super seven females....more info
  • Weekend Warriors ( The Sisterhood)
Fern Michaels puts into words, what I think, a lot of women feel everyday. "Weekend Warriors" is a great book to feed your imagination on how to deal with injustice in a woman's world....more info

  • A Story With Balls
Get your attention up there? Well it is true. This novel really does have balls. Literally. I thoroughly enjoyed it despite the fact that the writing is a tad rushed and a bit amateurish compared to many other bestsellers. I have passed over this novel thru the years because for some reason, it is always in the Romance area. However, upon recommendation of a co worker I gave it a go and found there really is no romance in it. On the contrary, it is about 7 women that have been chewed up and spit out by the American legal system. They decide to take matters into their own hands, beginning with avenging the rape of Kathryn. Thanks to the statute of limitations, the legal system could not help her so thus, the Sisterhood sets out to find, bait, lure, and trap her rapists and remove their balls. Truly a tale for women about women. It is also an easy, one day read. ...more info
  • AMAZING!!!
I was privileged to read an advance copy of this book. WOW! This series is shaping up to be even better than the stories about the Colemans and the Thorntons which up until now have been my all time favorites. It's quite a change of pace from what Ms. Michaels usually writes, but I've come to expect the unexpected from her writing. Her books are never dull. I laugh, I cry, and thoroughly enjoy each story. I hope the second book in the series will be out soon....more info
  • NON STOP READING
I had to read this until it was completed. Fern is a wonderful storyteller....more info
  • Not Expected, But Very Good
I agree with most of the other reviews. It was an unexpected twist from Fern Michaels, but it was a welcome one. The revenge was harsh, but those "men" deserved no less, so anything less wouldn't have made the book nearly as good. Why go through the point of writing the book if you aren't going to exact the perfect revenge? The only problem I had was the cover. It looked like I picked it up in the junior section of library. Also, on the back, one of the reviews said "a great read for a teenager" or something of the like..I'm sorry, but this isn't a book I would want my 16 yr. old girl reading....more info
