  • Fine Product and Excellent Service
Polar FS2 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Black)

I ordered this for my daughter because it's considered the best. When it arrived, it was defective and the screen was blank. I reported this to Amazon. Immediately, I received a prepaid shipping label to return the defective item. Within three days, I received a replacement, faster than I thought possible. The replacement works PERFECTLY.

I am THRILLED with the outstanding customer service and recommend this product highly.

  • Works great - basic unit, no fuss, waterproof
Bought this for my wife, she prefers simple to use over those thing that have feature bloat and are difficult to operate or remember how to operate. This thing just flat out works, and does it well, for a good price. I had little trouble with the setup as the way the menu works could have been a tad less annoying (it times out pretty quickly and then you start over), so I only gave it 4 stars, but setup is only once. Should really be five stars. If you are looking at this basic unit, buy it, as this does what you want and does it well. Display is easy to read, beeps can be turned off, etc.

  • heart rate monitor
This heart rate monitor works very well. The only thing that is missing is for the heart rate range to be put in for you. The FS3 does this. I bought an FS3 in a store for the same price as the FS2 here on amazon....more info
  • Excellent Product
Before I purchased it, I was concerned about the comfort and the dependability of the contacts on the chest belt. The belt transmitter is so light and well engineered that I forget that I'm wearing it. It always works. The instructions are clear and easy to follow -- it's very easy to set up. I especially like the feature of switching the wrist unit to give the time by merely touching it to your chest so you don't have to break your pace. The effort required to buckle the wrist strap that others have mentioned is minor and easily mastered. This is as nearly a perfect product as I have ever purchased....more info
  • Husband Likes It
I bought this for my husband as a replacement for his old monitor that had a wrist band that couldn't be repaired. He figured out on his own how to use this monitor: a plus for any product. I'd buy it again just because of the ease of use....more info
  • Great for newbies like me
This heart monitor es really great for newbies like me. Is not top of the line but you have the basic functions and it works really well. The interface is a bit strange at first since you have just one button, that makes it slow to navigate the different menus and functions. I have mine for 2 years now and I`m yet to change the battery....more info
  • Not Bad for the Price
I have been biking for awhile now and I recently got an indoor trainer and some DVD's to use to keep in shape over the winter months. So after doing them a few times I realized that I would be much better off if I knew my heart rate so I could train correctly for hard/easy days.

The first few times I used it I had problems because I was not wearing it quite tight enough because after I tightened it up it has worked perfectly. I have had it all the way from 70 to 194 bpm and it seems to react as I would expect for various levels of excursion.

My biggest complaint is that it doesn't keep track of the max heart rate for a training session, the more expensive ones do, so I guess you get what you pay for sometimes...but as long as you pay attention when you think you are getting close you can still find your max rate.

One other thing I saw on some reviews was that it was too small for men, but I'm 5'11 and nearly 200 lbs and it fits me, in fact I had it on too loose at first, yeah it is tight feeling but it has to be to work.

For someone just starting out this is a great tool and only has 1 button, so there isn't much complicated about it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start heart rate training, it has been proven to really help build aerobic capacity and strength when done properly....more info
  • Polar Monitor
Takes a little getting used to, but once I understood the functions, it works great. Keeps me from exceeding HR objectives, both for me and my clients....more info
  • Not for serious cyclists.
I bought this because it had the range to mount on my trike. And in that sense it works where others didn't. But it has several serious shortcomings. It shuts itself off when no signal is received for about five minutes. e.g., when you come to a rest stop. And when you start it again all of the previous data is lost. Also it is seriously affected by power lines and just stops working. As I ride a recumbent I can't see the monitor if it is mounted on my wrist. This probably will work for you in the gym or for short rides, but don't buy it if you are a serious cyclist. Also, when I called Polar for some help the tech was quite rude to me. ...more info
  • reivew of Polar FS2 Heart rate monitor
I had the old model of this model and it lasted me over 5 years. Based on that, and the other reviews I read about this model, I decided to try the FS2. It is great!! It is a very good basic heart rate monitor. No bells and whistles, but I was looking for simple. I highly recommend reading through the manual, which is very short. It will give you some great tips so you can utilize the few features it does have, such as min/max heart rate limits, etc. All and all, a great buy. I've only had it a couple of months, so I don't know about the battery life. Hopefully it will perform as well as the old one did!...more info
  • Great product
This is a great product, I use it at the gym because the tredmill is compatable to it so I don't have to wear the watch. When I run outside I wear it and I don't have a problem with it. One thing that bothers me is the directions on the watch, it took a while to understand but I got it down to a science now. all in all it's great, it does what it's supose to do....more info
  • Stiff band
The HRM works great. But the band is very stiff and hard to get on and off. The interface is a little querky but works well. ...more info
