Customer Reviews:

  • Best baby monitor yet!
This is the best baby monitor I've ever heard. The microphone is extremely sensitive and the sound quality is excellent. There is absolutely no static and I haven't had any interference from other sources. It works just as well with either the wall adapter or on batteries and has great range. It has four different channels to choose from but I haven't had to change it at all. I live in a neighborhood where the lot sizes are 1/3 acre and the house are a good distance apart so this might help as far as not having any interference but with other monitors that I've had there is always a constant background hiss. This one is completely silent. I would highly recommend this monitor, especially for the price....more info
  • A great grandma helper
I bought this little item to help me monitor my 90 year old mother who lives with me but is in a different part of the house. She has taken a couple of spills and spent 10 hours on the floor one night because she couldn't rouse any one from their sleep. I have the monitor on by my bed at night and can very clearly hear her activities but can turn it down so I can sleep. If she is in distress she can call loud enough to awake me and I have a lot of peace of mind now. Got the idea from my two new grandson's and the monitor their mother has for them.

  • Very clear!
The unit is actually quite clear. I got it for my mother who broke her pelvis and has a hard time getting up and down. I can hear if she needs help. The only complaint I have with it is there is a constant clicking noise that makes it hard for me to sleep, but that might be due to the location it's plugged in at. I've got it plugged in with my PC and phone, but have moved the actual unit itself at least 5' away from them and it still does it. I'm not sure if it's the unit or the location I have it. It is very clear for the money though....more info
  • Great for older folks too!
The baby monitor works well for aging parents as well. My Dad's bedroom is downstairs and mine is upstairs, so when I go to bed I plug it in and I don't worry about not hearing him....more info
  • great monitor for the price
We actually live in a one bedroom condo, so we didn't think we'd want a baby monitor, but this monitor has been great! We have a swimming pool at our condo that is about 1000 feet away, and with this monitor, we have the peace of mind that our baby is okay without breaking the bank. It works great, and you can hear every sound. I like the sound/lights feature, because sometimes the lights catch your eye when you can't hear the sound. I also think the batteries last fine, as long as you don't leave it on for long periods of time.

When we looked into other monitors that were long distance, we were shocked at the price. I can't imagine any monitor being that significantly better to warrant the huge price tag! I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone who has a small budget but needs the distance factor.

  • Great Buy!
Amazing sound quality! Works perfectly on the other side of the house. I have to put the sound on the lowest level or I'll hear the baby breathing! Good battery life also.
I'd recommend this product for everyone. ...more info
  • GREAT monitor for the price!
This is the second monitor I've owned and by far the best. We had the Sony one for my first child, and the batteries wore down so fast that we were replacing them daily. Annoying b/c when the batteries get low, the thing squeals incessantly. The batteries have lasted in this monitor for a week and I couldn't be happier.
It really does work for long distances, I can work in the yard and still hear my baby.
In my opinion, this is a great monitor, I think I paid around $32. Good investment....more info
  • pretty good
I just recently purchased this monitor and it has been working pretty well. However, in just the past two days when I try to turn it on it takes a few trys to have the lights come on and for it to work. Regarding the distance, sometimes I can be at the end of my backyard which is about an acre but other times I cannot even be at the end of my driveway which is about 15 yards. Overall, it is a decent monitor and a good price....more info
  • Excellent reception and easy to use!
We purchased the Fisher-Price Long Distance 900MHz Monitor for our new baby's room. Like all Fisher-Price products, this has very simple and durable form factors.

However, though it looks like a toy (and therefore fits right in with a small child's room), it is packed with reliable technology. The "broadcast" base has excellent gain -- we have it on a shelf *across* the room from the crib, with no loss of sound quality or coverage. The wide, flat base also doubles a large "night light" that can be turned on or off.

The single remote receiver has an integrated power and volume dial, so it is extremely easy to use. It also has a series of red LEDs that show the strength of broadcasted sounds, giving a visual as well as audio cue when the baby cries. It has a sturdy belt clip built into the casing.

Our home is brick, and our lot nearly an acre -- but the signal strength has been excellent everywhere we've taken the receiver. With four different "channels" to choose from, we have had no interference from our other wireless devices (e.g., cordless phones, network wi-fi access point, etc.).

I highly recommended this device for parents who want peace of mind, and can make-do with a single receiver.

  • Excellent little monitor
Outstanding sound quality across the entire house and even into the yard. Far more sensitive than the polycom star phones we use in my office at work, this monitor can pick up the sound of a baby sucking a bottle from across an entire room. In fact, if I have any complaint about the microphone, it is that it is perhaps too sensitive and picks up lots of ambient noise, leading to a low level hiss from the receiver speaker whenever the monitor is in operation. Like all very sensitive receivers, it can pick up feedback at times (resulting in a high pitched whine) but this hasn't been a significant issue.

The receiver delivers solid performance on and off the AC (powered by three AAA alkaline batteries in mobile mode). The battery door is screwed shut, which is a pain, but has the beneficial effect of making the receiver a bit more durable when it is clipped to one's hip.

I wish that this unit came with a second remote, but one is available on other Fisher Price monitors--at a higher price point--so if a second remote isn't important, this is a cost-effective way to get peace of mind....more info
  • Battery Hog and Doesn't always turn off
Overall, this monitor works, has good distance, etc. But it has a couple of real annoying issues. First it consumes batteries (3 AAA) as fast as my daughter consumes bottles. Generally about every 2-3 days it needs new batteries - and that's with having it plugged in most of the time. And because the battery cover is a screw, it's not easy to change. Secondly, the low battery monitor continues to go off even when the unit is turned off. So the only way to get it to stop is to remove the batteries.

I would look at another product instead....more info
  • I like it!
Personally I love this monitor. It has a long range and you can hear everything crystal clear. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if you get it too close to a computer it will click periodically. Not a huge deal and it like that with any monitor you get near something with a simalar fequency. All in all it's a good buy (and not a bad price!).

P.S. the night light glows green not yellow...more info
  • Great Monitor
This is our first baby monitor and I was very impressed at it's quality, clarity and sensitivity. There is always a bit of static, but I can hear my baby's sighs and even the wind chimes in the back yard.
I'd buy this monitor again and recommend it to my friends....more info
