Customer Reviews:

  • Bike is almost perfect! Great deal for the Price!
I got this bike after reading the great reviews here and it is even better than I thought it would be! It is a GREAT DEAL for the price!!! For a light stowaway bike, it is very sturdy and it is also nice and quiet. My only complaints are minor-- the calorie count on the computer seems a bit inaccurate, and the seat DEFINITELY needs a gel seat cover as it is a bit on the hard side. But not so bad that I can't ride it. My husband and I have been on it every day since we got it! I like it better then the ones at our gym!!!! DEFINITELY A GREAT BIKE AND WORTH EVERY PENNY! ...more info
  • Bargain Bike
This bike is a must for apartment dwellers who want to keep in shape and do some aerobic exercise. I will be 82 yrs.old and knee and hip replacements restrict me to non- impact exercise. This eliminates long walks and treadmills. This bike is very well made and is about $200 cheaper than comparable bikes that are much more bulky and heavier ones on sale at retail stores. If you buy one of those you are wasting your money. Definitely 5 stars for this one!...more info
  • Terrible product
I was given this bike as a gift from my children. The computer did not work. I called the company on the shipping label. After two weeks of phone calls I was sent a new computer. It still did not work. I called again and was sent another computer. Then I was sent a new bike. None of these computers work. I contacted the company. In order to get a refund I need to return the bike and they will deduct the shipping charge - $42 for a product that doesn't work!.

I think this is a terrible product and the reviews are inaccurate and misleading. The 'gift' has been a headache for me and a dissapointment for my children; I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing it. If you want a bike that doesn't keep track of speed or time or distance this one is fine but it is far too expensive for that type of bike. ...more info
  • Love it!
For the money this is a great bike! I get a good workout from it and it folds up and rolls into my closet nicely. It's a perfect size for limited space. Very happy with my purchase....more info
  • Great bike for a great price
This is probably the best online purchase I've made over the past 5 years. This bike is compact, simple, and can't be beat for the price.

Detractors will say it doesn't have enough resistance. This may be true if you're a cycling enthusiast, but for regular joes like myself the resistance is more than adequate. It has 8 resistance settings and I usually work out at a 4 or 5.

I'm very happy with the stability and simplicity of this bike, and have been recommending it to any of my friends who are looking for a way to exercise without paying costly gym fees....more info
  • Decent little exercise bike
It does what it is advertised to do -- it is a compact exercise bike (it is not appropriate for a tall person ... my wife is the prime user). It doesn't fold much at all so that little claim is not too good but it has a good range of exercise and it isn't too bad to put together (although I found the directions a bit confusing)....more info
  • A great bike
I bought this bike a year ago and have used it every day since. It is a basic beginner's bike and a very good one at that. At 5'4" and 5'9", it fits me and my husband perfectly. I get a decent work-out at tension settings 5-6, and keep the monitor scanning between time, speed, duration and calories. It is very sturdy and easily stowed in the cabinet when not in use. It is also easy to roll in and out of the cabinet. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. Yes, the seat is hard, but I've gotten used to it and barely notice it in my 30-minute daily routine....more info
  • Compact exercise bike
I was looking for a small exercise bike. This one is perfect! Nice and quiet. When not using I can roll right into the closet....more info
  • I wish I could change the number of stars...should be a one
I've had this bike for a few days and thoroughly enjoy it. The pros are that its relatively easy to put together, its easy to move and store, it's very quiet and it offers enough resistance to get a decent work out for the average joe. The cons are that the pedals are a little thin, the cranks are short for my tastes and the seat is like concrete. If you are in really good shape and are used to high-end exercise bikes...this one may not offer enough challenge. For the average person, its fine.

That said, I knew a fold-able bike would have some limitations and so it has lived up to my expectations. I'm glad that I have it and if you live in an apartment or have limited space this is good to have. I like rolling it out at night so that I can pedal while I watch tv and when I'm done, I wheel it right back to the closet.

Just buy a seat pad and check the pad's measurements before you buy it. I'm on my third seat cover and have yet to find one that fits. When I find one, I'll update this post. Do NOT buy your cover from Grady's hardware...they do not like to let you return items.

Update, The Sunlite Cloud Nine seat cover fits perfectly. It helps, but the seat is so bad....its not quite enough. The seat's design forces it to press your man parts in an uncomfortable manner, which leads to a lot of numbness.

Update II: The bike is now a month old and is falling apart. Its no longer quite and the wheel seems to be loose and so it wobbles and makes horrible noise. I'd like to try and tighten it, but the black cover is held by what appears to be plastic snaps and I'm afraid that if I remove them they will break.

I really enjoyed it while it worked...so if you are looking for disposable exercise equipment to last about a month....this one's for you. Otherwise, save your money. ...more info
  • Great for the money
Great for the money. Nice little bike to get your heart rate up and keep it there. It doesn't really fold away that much but the bike is small enough anyway. Strong and safe. My only problem with it is the handle bars. They don't seem like they can take a lot of weight so don't put your weight on them. It's better to sit up straight anyway....more info
  • Great bike for the price!
I have had this bike for a few days now and I love it. I love being able to watch TV while riding. I don't find any problems with the resistance. It is enough for me! I don't know how long it will last but it does seem sturdy and fairly well made....more info
  • So far, it's great!
After reading the other reviews posted here, I ordered this bike on 6/18 and received it on 6/20 (today!). Put it together easily in 1/2 hour, and put the first 2 miles on it - at level 8 - in another 10 minutes. I was looking for an indoor cycle I can use after I have surgery which will prevent me from cycling outside for a few months. Also wanted something to ride in the winter when it's too cold and snowy outside. I can not only ride this bike as fast or as slow as I like, but I'll be able to hold a book or watch a movie and still be cyclin'! Level 8 is perfect, with just enough resistance to make me work at it. I can pedal my little heart out and work up a sweat or take it easy and still feel it. I found the seat to be well padded and comfortable. Not for the hard-core cyclist, but for someone just starting out - or with a need like mine - it's a nice unit....more info
  • Great buy
This foldable exercise bike lived up to its description and for this price, its a steal. The only problem I had was the fact that they sent the wrong gel seat cover. I purchased the set so shouldn't I get the correct size? You really need it because the original seat is a bit tough on your rear end....more info
  • I love this bike!
I am so happy that I bought this bike. It works great, and it's very quiet....more info
  • A New Lease on Life
I absolutely love this bike. It is just right for me. I am 65 and have spinal stenosis and it helps me to continue my physical therapy at home. I have to use a small stool to get on and off of it but that's ok. When my muscles and nerves loosen up more I won't need the stool. It's so quiet. It really has given me a new lease on life....more info

  • $10 cheaper if you buy direct from the seller on their website
I was originally going to buy a Schwinn to replace a Nordic Track bike that is exhibiting signs of parts wear after a few years of regular use. I stumbled upon this foldable bike and since space is a premium in my apt (my current bike, albeit invaluable to my workout, sticks out like a sore thumb in my family/tv/living room), I decided to research this previously-unknown-to-me foldable bike option a bit more. I do want to alert buyers that after reading some of the reviews here and complaints about the shipping price, I did a search online and found that in the US it is only distributed by Golf Outlets of America based in California (the company that you are buying it from via Amazon), but if you buy from Golf Outlets of America directly, the price is currently (as of March 25, 2008) $99.99 and not the $109.99 that Amazon charges. Shipping via the company's site is the same $40 that Amazon charges (I'm guessing that the product ships from Golf Outlets of America whether you buy it via Amazon's site or the company's own site - hence the same shipping charge), but in my case given the relatively low price of the bike, plus its shipping weight and given the fact that it is shipping cross country from California(in my case as I am on the East Coast), I can live with the somewhat high shipping price. $40 is not too much if you factor in the weight and put the delivery into some context, e.g., consider that a local furniture company would likely charge more to deliver an end table to your house. Sure, I wish shipping were cheaper, but all in all, not so bad. You can save a little money though by buying direct from the company and avoiding the middleman - which is Amazon in this case. Thought I'd pass on that tip....more info
  • product life
I purchased this product 1 1/2 to 2 years ago for home use for myself--only. It now makes rattling noise and my husband grumbles about the bearing breaking. Without taking the entire bike apart, there's no way to tell if it's even repairable. Are parts availabe???

It doesn't take up much space but it apparently does not hold up daily use....more info
  • Great Investment
This bike is fantastic, the far best purchase I've made in a long time. This bike arrived quickly in great shape an exceeded my expectations. I read the other reviews and despite the negative ones I still made the purchase. Fortunately I don't have any problems, the bike's quite and the tension settings are fine. At first they seemed too easy, but after a while they almost seemed to tense up. It's an ideal bike especially for the price and I love it....more info
  • A GREAT BIKE FOR THE PRICE!
this is a great small excercise bike!

i am looking for a exercise machine that allows me to work on everyday.
clearly treadmill is not the choice because i do not want to make such big noise to my neighbor. so my thought comes to exercise bike.
searching for a while in amazon and i found out this bike.
and i decide to buy it for just two reasons:
    1. high rating
    2. cheap for the price

ordered last week and arrived today (7/16/2008).
it's quite heavy when it comes in (reasonable for an exercise machine).
spent about an hour putting it together by myself, alone.

after trying for a 15 mins, it feels just great!

pros (mostly are what most amazon reviewers said):
    1. ultra quiet. (my old computer makes more noise than it)
    2. 8 lvls of tension, which 4-5 tension is quite enough for me.
    3. takes up a very small amount of space, easy to move from one room to another (there's two wheels on the back that allows you to pull it w/o energy)

    cons:
the "calories" counter doesn't seem to work well. it goes up in the same rate with tension 1 and tension 8 (which normally tension 8 should take up a lot more calories than tension 1). but other than this the monitor works fine (timer, distance, speed works really well).

    and.... that's about it.
great bike for the price, definately worth the cost!!
i am glad i bought it.

  • Really like this bike!
The price was very good, the setup was easy and it works great! I have two problems, though. There is a "ticking" sound with every stroke of the pedal. The gel seat gets harder with every stroke, but I purchased a separate "tie-on" gel pad that helped a lot. After spending an hour on it, I find even that doesn't help my bones! Being able to watch TV while peddling is helping me keep my mind off my sore butt. My partner was hoping he could turn the resistance up higher, but it doesn't go as high as he'd like it, and the seat is too low for his long legs (it's as high as it'll go, too). It's perfect for me, though, and I recommend it for "girls."...more info
  • Nice little bike that does the job..
For $152 (shipped), you can't get a better indoor fitness bike. It might be a little too small for tall people (5'10" and above) but for most of us, it will fit quite well.

It is very sturdy and the operating noise is never too distracting even while watching TV or reading a book.

The resistance is sufficient to break a sweat.

I have had it for a month now and I am very much satisfied. If it doesn't break down within a year, I would've gotten my moneys worth.

  • Loved it while it worked
I absolutely loved this bicycle for the month that it worked. I suppose I used it too much (around 90 minutes a day) because the bike soon became loud and very choppy when I rode it.

It was easy to assemble, took up almost no room at all, and was incredibly light.

I'm sad that the bike fell apart, because it was such a pleasure to exercise on it and so much less trouble than a full size stationary bicycle.

Bike was more then I expected, well built, kind of features and construction I hadn't expected for the price. Perfect for limiting space needed for general workouts....more info
  • Expectations Met
I purchased this for knee surgery rehab and have found it useful. The size and stowability are by far the best features. It easily stores in a coat closet without cluttering your home when not in use. It is sturdy, quiet, and has good resistance levels. I am 6'3" and the seat doesn't go up as far as I would like, which is my only complaint....more info

This is a nice product. It arrived very quickly and in very good condition. The shipping price is terrible, I would make a more thorough search before purchasing here....more info
  • Exceeded all expectations!
I was very concerned about buying this bike online and not trying it out first. The price was right, though, so I went ahead and bought it. I am SO happy I did!

The bike is FAR sturdier than I could have imagined for a foldable, fairly lightweight bike. (It's about 50 lbs, but I, a 26 yr. old female was able to get it up 4 flights of stairs to my apartment with minor huffing and puffing.) It also has wheels so you can easily roll it if you need to move it. My boyfriend put it together, so I can't personally attest to how easy it was, but he finished in about 30 minutes or so and didn't seem to have any problems at all. I immediately jumped on and started to ride and was amazed at how quiet and sturdy the bike is. It also doesn't take up much space at all. Yes, the seat is a little hard and might leave you a bit sore the first few times, but my actual bike seat does the same thing. It's not bad enough to make me buy a gel pad or anything.

I'm 5'10" and didn't have a problem with it, but I could imagine someone a few inches taller not fitting very well. The computer that comes with the bike includes a timer, distance, speed and calorie counter. It will scan through all these options too.

The only possible problems I could see someone having with it are the resistance levels and the computer accuracy. The resistance levels are fine... for most people. The resistance can be set at levels 1-8. I am in fairly good shape and the lowest I can go without feeling like I'm going to fly off the bike is level 5. However, I stick to levels 5-8 and work up a good sweat. I wouldn't want it to be much harder. It's not the kind of bike you can stand up to pedal on, though. My boyfriend loves using the lower levels and pedaling really fast though, so I think it's fine for most people. The calorie counter on the computer is a little inflated, I think, so I just pay attention to my time and my heart rate.

Overall, I love, love, LOVE the bike and don't regret the purchase at all. Especially since it was so inexpensive. My coworker bought one on my recommendation and loves hers as well!...more info
