Customer Reviews:

  • Couldn't ask for more!
Great product for a fantastic value. The same product is sold for at least double from other online sellers. I took advantage of Amazon's price and special at buy 3 get 1 free and gave them as Christmas gifts. I even used mine this afternoon when I took a nap. Worked like a charm. ...more info
  • STOPPED WORKING AFTER FIVE MONTHS!!!
This timer stopped working after five months!!! Received no response from Polder customer service. It's junk!!!...more info
  • quite noisy
this timer is quite loud and noisy--very distracting for the task I needed it for. It also doesn't want to stop correctly. I have to continually turn the dial to zero and back to get it to final stop making a ticking noise. It also doesn't ding every time. Overall, a poor product in my opinion....more info
  • Loved it but didn't work very long
I actually did love this while it was working.
My head is in the clouds a lot so to have a timer
that I could just hang around my neck was very
handy so I wouldn't stay lost in a project. It
did have a loud tick which would have been nice
quieter but for the price...heh? Anyway, I really
enjoyed it and used it a lot but after a couple of
    months it stopped working.

I would definitely pay more for something similiar
that I could wear around my neck, was quieter and
had a softer or adjustable ring...and that would last. :)...more info
  • Great portable reminder
I bought this product after I forgot to turn off food I was simmering while multi-tasking. Almost burned the house twice! This timer goes with me when I have something on the stove or oven. It is accurate and has a loud ring but lasts for only 5 seconds. It would have been better if the ringer stayed on until turned off. But overall performs as described....more info
  • Doesn't work a'tall.
Mine just doesn't work; that is, it ticks around but doesn't ring at the end of the set time. ...more info
  • Handy & can't beat the price
My mom, who does a lot of baking, saw this in an Oprah magazine. I was delighted to find it on Amazon for her & at an even better price than what the magazine showed. Free shipping from seller-Amazon no less! (I tread carefully when buying from non-Amazon merchants.) She uses it all the time, both with the magnet on the rangehood & also around her neck if she leaves the kitchen. Very handy when she has something in the oven & wants to go out in the yard or elsewhere beyond earshot of the regular oven timer. Can't go wrong w/ the price! And a great save for all her yummy baked goods.

*** UPDATE *** My mom was so bummed. This timer seemed to have "died" after a few short months. I tinkered with it a bit & put a little piece of cardboard in it to get the battery to sit tighter. That seemed to get it working again. Not sure for how long but still a good deal for the price....more info
  • Cookie Baker's Friend!
After scoring all six of Wilton's 1984 Classic Cookie molds in an eBay auction, I agreed to make several varieties of cookies for a Christmas carol party. Over a period of days, using the Polder 526-41 Sixty Minute Cooki's Timer, Yellow, (which I had purchased before making such a rash promise), I made dozens of cookies in eight shapes, three base recipes, and seven combinations of fruits, nuts, flavors, chocolate, and frostings, preparing each batch while the last one baked. Looking back, I realized that I couldn't have managed this complex job as well as I did without the help of my timer.

So far, I haven't had any problems with it. It's paid for itself, over and over by making time-critical baking jobs easier to monitor, preventing wasted, ruined food. As for its loud ticking sound, that's what I bought it for! If it bothered me, I stifled it by tucking it inside my sweater. Later on, I'll buy a digital timer with added functions and timing capabilities. For now, this is all that I need. ...more info
  • Can't lose timer
Best timer I've ever owned. I bought it for my husband, who used to forget to check the old timer. With it hanging around his neck, there's no forgetting. It's lighweight so it is comfortable to wear. Magnetized so it sticks to the fridge for easy storage. So good I promptly bought another. Great gift for any cook....more info
  • cooki's timer
I love my timer. It is very basic, which is just what I wanted and need. It works great. And I love the idea of the soft cord, so I can loop it on my neck and go out of the kitchen or wherever and not lose track of the time. And I don't have to worry about batteries!...more info
  • Ringer does not sound
The construction on this item is cheap, but I can live with that.

The timer produces a noisy, rapid ticking sound, and I would prefer this sound to be less loud and annoying, but I can live that too.

Wind up the pointer to set the timer, and it will faithfully tick down with the time, until...NOTHING. No ringer. No bell. No sound to indicate that the set time has expired.

This problem was reported in a few other reviews, but I foolishly ignored them with the classic "won't happen to me" attitude. Big mistake because I now have a defective item that will cost more than it is worth to send back for a replacement. D'oh!!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - DO NOT PURCHASE...more info
