- Great Machine, but......
I, too, own one of these - and it does indeed make great bread. Just beware, however, that the company has been purchased by Salton, and parts are virtually unavailable - as is service or customer support.
Beyond that, all of the positives regarding this unit are true, and no complaints whatsoever with it's performance. ...more info
- I Love This Thing!
I bought this bread maker over a year ago and it hasn't rested for more than one week since then.
I am an extremely lazy cook, with the crock pot and microwave being the cornerstones of most of my cooking endeavors. Shockingly - to me, anyway - this breadmaker has fit right in. I just dump in my ingredients and forget about it until the timer goes off.
This unit has seen plenty of work while I've had it and has been completely reliable throughout. I have yet to see an under or over cooked loaf of bread and I haven't encountered a single hitch. A great product and I am very glad I bought it.

- Great Machine
I've only used this machine twice and both times the breads turned out delicious. It's not that heavy either, so it's easy for me to store in a cupboard and then bring it out only when I need to use it. My previous machine needed to be replaced and so I had some ideas of what I wanted. I was looking for something that was easy to use, had a variety of programs, a beep to add in ingredients at the appropriate time, and somewhat compact. This one fit the bill! I highly recommend it!...more info
- Breadman automatic bread machine
I sent this machine to my daughter as a birthday present. I was pleased with the price which was very competitive. The shipping was free. She received it in good condition and in a timely manner. She loved the machine. This vendor sent me an e-mail telling me the ship date and it arrived as promised. I was very pleased....more info
- Great product
Excellent performance: I just followed the instructions in the user guide it came with the machine and my first Basic/French White came out flawless. So did the second.
We did not try other specialties (wholegrain, etc) yet: I am thrilled with good tasty white bread for now.
The body had some minor scratches but everything was fine inside. We had no problems with removing the mixing/baking bowl or putting it into place (some people mention it gets stuck).
We only used it twice, but we are very happy with it....more info
- No Longer Making Replacement Paddles
Sunbeam Oster Breadmaker Paddle 108962-000-000
If you're set on buying this machine, buy three or four of the replacement paddles linked above.
I hate to do this, because this has been a very good breadmaker, but the difficulty ordering a replacement paddle has completely killed my brand loyalty. Customer service has been awful, and when you lose your paddle (you WILL lose your paddle), after being given the runaround for a few weeks (months, years), you'll finally get an answer from Salton: they no longer make replacement paddles for this model! GREAT.
I'd give it four stars for making bread, and five stars for the price-- but the mess with the paddles is just inexcusable and absurd. This is the Windows ME of bread machines: obsolete before it's even out of the box....more info
- The paint chips off - toxic?
We bought this breadmaker when we started eating gluten free as it has a gf mode. We have not had any successful loaves that way, both using the recipes that come with the breadmaker nor Bob's Red Mill products. We now use Pamela's bread mix and use the regular cycle, and it works well. More worrying is that the mixing paddle's paint has chipped and I've found chips of paint in the bread. I'm concerned with how much of this we've consumed without noticing. I would never recommend this breadmaker to anyone....more info

Great product. It is so much more than a bread machine....more info
- Disappointed, maybe a little angry too.
I'm sorry to say that this machine does not work. I followed the instructions on running the machine dry then 1 week later attempted to make a loaf of bread. Unfortunately, the machine did not even allow me to press the menu button to set it all up. Please save your money and the disappointment. ...more info
- Awesome Bread Maker
I love this bread machine so much. It makes the best cinnamon raisan bread on the planet.
This morning I accidently melted the control panel with my crockpot. I was so bummed. I will order a new one just like it today, from Amazon.
Awesome Bread!!...more info
- Great machine - No regrets!
Overall, the machine is exactly what it promises. If I listed "faults", I'm sure they would just be universal breadmaker issues. I'm not an expert baker but I've been able to produce a variety of loaves with this machine.
I do like the stainless steel case. It looks good on the counter!
If you have any level of hearing loss, the button beeps are very loud!
Go for it!...more info
- Breadman Bread Machine
This is my first try at a bread machine and I could not be happier, it works so well that it is amazing.... I find myself standing over it to watch it work, it is facinating ! Excellent product and I would recommend to anyone.
- Wonderful!!!! Easy to use!
This is an awesome bread maker! It's easy to use right out of the box, It's also very easy to clean. It makes wonderful bread and is a great addition to my kitchen. My only complaint would be that I think it sometimes over bakes the bread. I usually make sure I'm around when it's baking so I can watch it and take it out early if I think it's getting over baked. It's my first bread maker and I'm very happy with the purchase....more info
- Second Breadman
This is the second Breadman we purchased. The first was a cheaper model and we could not remove the bread basket. After returning we bought this one.
We LOVE it! You don't have to open it to "shape" the bread. The bread comes out perfect. It is not noisy and makes a perfect loaf everytime!
We thought the "Foot" or "mixer" was the wrong size because it did not lock completely down, there was a gap on top and it didn't snap down at the bottom. It works fine, and the foot does not end up in the bread!
I recommend it.
Only thing I did not like was the book it came with. It was very thin and did not have the white bread recipe we liked, so we use the other book we had forgot to pack on return. Kind of glad because it has many recipes in it! ...more info
- One problem after another
I've had this machine for about a year and made about 40 loaves of bread in it. While it works, I've had one problem after another with it. The bottom of the pan dented around the stem very early on and I have to pull out the dent once in a while. The rectangular pan tends to catch dry ingredients in the corners -- I either have to be there to scrape them out with a spatula or I end up with half-mixed dough on the corners of the finished bread. The mixing paddle appears to be made of nonstick stuff but the bread inevitably sticks to it and I lose a big chunk out of the loaf getting it out. The paddle is also hard to get out and hard to get clean. In the last few months, the display has started to go out while the bread bakes so I can't tell how much time is left. I would not buy this machine again....more info
- Paddle did not fit
I bought this breadmaker because of the ability to make gluten free bread, my requirement. Once I received it, I was anxiously assembling it and the mixing paddle does not fit on the bar where it is supposed to slide on. I called Breadman and they said that they no longer make the paddle and I should contact Amazon and return my breadmaker. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that they could not help me in any way and that I need to return it to get a replacement machine that could have the same issue (paddle not fitting.) I chose not to return it for this reason, only. And for the fact that I was anticipating using it for Easter and subsequently could not. I have chosen to order a replacement bread paddle on another website for an additional $20. So if you are planning on ordering this breadmaker, keep in mind that you may have to do this as well...or return it. I know this is not Amazon's problem directly, but it is very frustrating to order a product that is WRONG and then have the company not be able to do anything about it, but return it and probably have it happen AGAIN. I fully believe that once I get the correct parts, this breadmaker will be a good machine. But initially it is very frustrating! ...more info
- My great baking buddy
I like this model of the bread machine,***** it`s smaller and easier to store and it works great, the paddle works better than my previous machine, (also a Breadman) I panicked when my Breadman stopped working right before Christmas, and I immediately ordered another one, I figured out later that it was the computer on the machine that was not working. I pressed the reset button for 30 sec. and left the machine alone for about 24 hrs and to my surprise it started working again, so now I have two baking buddies and can double the goodies.
I highly recommend this machine. Breadman TR875 2-Pound Breadmaker, Stainless Steel ...more info
- Too good to be true, but it is!
I have made four loaves in my machine since receiving it at Christmas: whole wheat, french, oatmeal and pumpkin. Each one was so, so good!! (especially the pumpkin) Baking just got exciting for me! Easy to use, too. I wish that I had bought this years ago....more info
- Bread not brick
I have an old breadmaker that is about ready to die anyway but I never could make really good whole wheat bread in it.I decided to try a newer one ,I just love this bread maker ,I grind my own grain and use the whole wheat recipe that comes with the machine and it is the softest moist bread I've ever made in a braed machine.Yesterday I did a half w.w. half bread flour with flax seed and sunflower seeds ,yummy. My only regret is it does'nt have a quick bread setting which I thought it did when I ordered it,My mistake....more info
- Don't buy it, junk.
I received my Breadman TR875 today 5/1/09. My first concern was that it looked as if the original box had been retaped. 2nd concern was the electrical cord was hanging loose and the twist wire ties were laying in the bottom of the box. 3rd concern was the instruction manual that stated "there is a clear, thin plastic cover adhered over the control panel and this must be carefully removed" There was no clear thin plastic cover over the control panel. There was pieces of plastic that suggest the cover had been previously removed. And there was a horrible order within the machine that I can't describe. The machine was obviously a return being sold as new. I have repacked it, printed out Amazon's return address label. I will be sending it back tomorrow morning.
I have made four loaves so far and each one has turned out perfect. The instructions are easy to read and the machine is easy to use. It isn't too loud and doesn't shake the entire counter while it mixes....more info
