- Not as fun as Lego Batman according to my son
While Star Wars was a nice change of pace for my son (6 years old) who was playing only Lego Batman for a few months he still reverted back. We just got Lego Indiana Jones and he says he likes this one better than Star Wars. I think they are all great and it's nice to change it up a little every so often. ...more info
- Great game
All the boys -- ages 5 to 29 -- in the house LOVE this game! ...more info
- 5yr old loves it....
Easy to learn for kids, but in-depth enough to hold their attention for a very long time....more info
- Wonderful Game
My son plays this game for hours! I enjoy dropping in and out as I want to help out in battle once in a while. The graffics are great and funny when someones arms are plucked off to keep them from killing you. The occasional head get turned around and you watch the guy turn it back around. The stories for each chapter are funny and entertaining to watch. It is much better than the first one, but maybe we are just having trouble with the game itself. I can't wait until the next one comes out!...more info
- I want it bad!!!
I own the first series of this,it is so fun to play with my dad and all the new things you can do in this one is so cool!...more info
- A very good kid's game
My son loves this game!! He beat the other one with a little help from daddy. I got him this one to play. You can make your own chracters from naming them, to their clothes, hairstyles, etc. The cutscenes are so funny! A adult can join the game at any time to help your child if he gets stuck and it's a game that is entertaining enough you will not mind. It has all your favorite characters Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Luke skywalker, Yoda, Darth Vader, etc. Some characters you do have to unlock but shouldn't be too hard. Just play a few missions and should have enough. Some you have to beat to be able to get them though. This is a delightful game for the young and young at heart....more info

It's fun and not violent, because if you kill someone you don't kill the person, you just break it and it just falls in pieces....more info
- The best of the best
Our children play this game over and over. It is far and away their favorite PS2 game....more info
I bought this for my niece and nephew, who were 7 and 8. The loved it! Not only does it have their well-loved Star Wars characters, but it was at a simple enough level that they could learn how to play easily. Even I could play a little! I also liked it because "dead" Lego characters much not the same as animated humans. ...more info
I've only played Eps IV, but over and over and over again..... this is fun!...more info

- NOT AS CLEAN AS YOU MIGHT THINK
My kids played this game whenever they were allowed to play the ps2. They couldn't get enough of it!! Being careful not to chose such violent games I thought this would be fun. What could go wrong, "they're Legos". But after several weeks and levels completed I was dumnfounded to see princes Leia in a g-string two piece dancing like a stripper. I NEVER would of thought LEGOS would become "provocative" to my young boys all under 12. We now have to monitor them and tell them NOT to choose "her" as a character! What a shame to start installing trash, into young kids, not even really aware as to what is happening to them and their thoughts....more info
This is a great game. The lego characters are a lot of fun and the graphics and gameplay are great. My kids love this game. It is difficult enough to keep the 9 year old engaged and easy enough that the younger kids can still play along. And I admit, I have fun playing it as well. It is very kid friendly. When you "kill" an enemy, you are just causing the Legos to break apart. If you have any young Star Wars fans in the house who are not hard core gamers, this is an excellent choice. ...more info
- It's .. ummm .. for my kids ... sure!
This is an amazingly fun and simple game. I don't have children so I would be lying if I said that's why I purchased it. It's an old school throwback to the times when we didn't care what the polycount was. I'm hoping that we see more of the like from these guys in the future. ...more info
Star Wars and Legos: two things I grew up loving. Put them both in a video game and you have instant fun. Sure, you know the story line, sure the graphics are ... blocky. But the gameplay is pretty easy and there are so many hidden rooms/levels/objects/minigames that you'll be playing this for months after you complete the major story. It's not the best game out there, but it's fun and funny and has high replay value. I recommend it to anyone....more info
- Great, a classic
Great product. Good clean fun play. Very imaginative--you will be pleased with this product....more info
- Kids Love it
I purchased this game for my 5 year old nephew and he absolutely loves it. It's very challenging for him as he completes each level of the game. Graphics etc. are very sharp. Overall good purchase....more info
- This game is GREAT!!
My son got this for Christmas '06 along with his PS2. Our family is sort of new to gaming but this one by far is a family favorite. The best thing about this game is that two players can play at the same time. It's a lot of fun to play together to complete the levels. One player can play by themselves as well. My son got Lego Star Wars I for his birthday in April. He loves it and it has also become a family favorite. If you have a favorite movie series then you might consider Lego Star Wars II based characters & levels on Episodes IV, V & VI; Lego Star Wars I based characters & levels on Episodes I, II & III. ...more info
- Very impressive...
There are lots of things to love about this game. The developers made faithful Lego renditions of the Star Wars characters which impresses me. The characters are determined to fight the evil empire and they still have a cute sense of humor. There are several levels - I'm going to guess at least 18 plus when you go through the level the first time, you can't complete all the tasks because characters are added to the game as you complete a level and the new characters have special talents. So you have to go back to the level with a character with a specific talent to complete the task. Once you collect all the items, they are used to build ships which you can see in the cantina parking lot. The game is a great value and I recommend it for all age groups. It is probably too easy for teenagers but I'm a grandma and I love it....more info
- Great family game!
This is a great game for the whole family. My 5 and 7 year olds have no problem with the controls or game play. They can play the game with no help from Mom and Dad. My wife and I also enjoy playing it together....more info
- Lego Star Wars does it again
My son and I loved playing the first Star Wars and now have enjoyed the second one also.
We enjoy combining to make different players.
We liked everything except we were ticked off that you couldn't take the million stud total earned in using the gold bricks. (etc) Too bad the makers were stingy and wouldn't let you keep them.
Got to go and play some more. Bye....more info
- Lots of Fun, Lots to Explore
While not horribly difficult, this game is a lot of fun for anyone who even knows a tiny bit about Star Wars. The concept is creative and the tongue-in-cheek humor makes it all the more fun.
As I said, it's not horribly difficult to make your way through the storyline play. However, there are enough collectibles which require unlockable characters to retrieve that the fun is extended into free play for quite a while.
I highly recommend this game....more info
- A terrific masterpiece!
I totally love this game! I continuously play it over and over again! I love the worlds, the characters, the music, the sound effects, and everything else about it! It's an improvement over the first one, and that's saying a lot! What I like better about this one is the extra moves, like the detonators, the actual building of legos, and I like the fact that you can watch the clips without playing the levels, if you choose to do so. And I'll tell you, the clips are absolutely hilarious! Also, I like the original movies a lot better than the most recent ones. However, you don't need to like the movies to enjoy the game. Lovers of this game should buy the T-shirt at the Lego website. They don't have a shirt for the first one yet, but I'm pretty sure they will come out with one. I recommended both of these games to a friend of mine, and she totally loves it. I even recommended the first one to a stranger at Target, and he bought it. The second one hadn't come out yet, but I hope he bought it when it did come out.
Anyway, you should definitely buy this one for yourself or as a gift for someone else, especially if you like legos and Star Wars. You won't be disappointed....more info
- Lego Star Wars II
This is the fourth different copy of this game I've purchased (X-Box 360, Nintendo DS, PC and now PS2). It's just that much fun!! And actually, I would have purchased the Complete Saga (purchased two copies of that), but they do not seem to make it for PS2....more info
- Lego Star Wars ROCKS!
I got this for my brothers for their birthday. They cannot keep off of it! I have to wake up early to get on our console on weekends. When I have stolen a few moments to get on it, I have discovered some of the most amazing secrets. The minikits are the most fun things to collect. If you get all 10 minikits on 1 level, you complete a Classic Star Wars vehicle. The most fun "move" is probably when you press "X X Square" with a Jedi. If it is a Jedi, they jump way up high in the air, and stab the ground with their lightsaber. If it is a Sith, they do the same thing, but they do not sink into the ground. The sith's, they just sort of bounce their lightsaber off the ground....more info
- Wonderful Game
The shooting is great. Just like the movies. And it goes with the story from all 3 of the original movies. All of the cool extras make playing this game so much fun and great for kids. What's great is the feature that allows another player to drop in and out. I wish more games would take advantage of this feature. I recommend you buy it if you don't already own it....more info
- Best game ever
As a Star Wars original trilogy fan and a space-themed Lego fan growing up, I have to say this is just about the best game ever....more info
- Legos Starwars
I bought this along with the old ps2 system for the kids at christmas.
My wife and kids, 41, 14, and 5 respectivly have been playing Legos StarWars almost non-stop! It's well done and they have so much fun with it. My wife has never been the video game type but she's into this, which is great for my 5 year old son....more info
- I'd almost take away a star in comparison to the original Lego Star Wars game.
The original Lego Star Wars was more fun, more clever, more witty, and still a great game with excellent entertainment value in comparison to this one.
This second one is more like a serious game, to the point that the Lego novelty is almost irrellevant. If there's one big flaw in how this game is laid out, it's that it's not as geared for kids as it is for adults who are serious gamers, whereas the original struck a perfect balance. Like I wrote in my review of the original, an adult and a child could play Lego Star Wars (1) together without feeling like one was merely entertaining the other--whereas this one is practically a one player game for adults.
Still it's a great Star Wars Game that would be hard to improve upon with a non-legos version. And I'd put it up there with Tomb Raider as a quality and challenging experience to play.
The graphics and environments are far more sophisticated, but with that comes a few bugs. For instance, in Free Play mode there are a couple of spots where you can get stuck because you can no longer do what they had designed the level to do, and therefore can't proceed without starting over--very frustrating. I wouldn't mind pointing these out, but I don't want to ruin those levels by telling what happens or how you should be able to get through them. It's possible to not run into these bugs, but if you do just try to avoid them the next time round. However, my wife did run into one bug after an hour of playing one special round--which you have to complete all levels in the episode to do--that there was no getting past, and that was unacceptable.
I should really take a star away for these technical glitches, but I wont.
Using your saved data from the prior version is awesome. I like that you don't have to be a super player just to enjoy the game as a result of this.
There aren't as many fun, silly extras as there are in the original, and that's a bit of a loss.
BOTTOM LINE: I give this game five stars all around on it's own, but in comparison to the original I would take away one or two because much of what made the orginal funny and fun is missing in Lego Star Wars II. This version is more oriented to the serious gamer, who really couldn't care less if the characters were Legos or not, whereas the original was a great game, funny, and just plain cute.
I highly recommend Lego Star Wars II, but not without playing the original first for both fun and technical reasons....more info
- Great for kids
My twin 7 year olds love this game. They love going to the different levels and changing the characters. The graphics are great. The sound is kept in the background so it's not too distracting. A great game for kids that like using their imagination and are just learning how to use the game console, but also fun for adults too!...more info
