Customer Reviews:

  • Perfect for occasional use / Great Value
    Pros:
    - Small and portable.
    - Flawless fax with standard paper in ADF
    - Low Cost (can't beat the price)
    - Good Print quality in normal-fast mode
    - Scan Quality is good when using flatbed or ADF with standard paper
    - Prints very fast over network interface / reduces processor usage on client computer
    - Auto calibration / Feed detection photo sensor (this feature makes HP ink-jet printers shine!!)

    Cons:
    - Slow printing / copying speed
    - Scanning over the network requires you to install 300mb+ bloatware, and it pegs the printers onboard CPU (no-coprocessor to handle TCP/IP stack?) causing it to run at about 1/5 the speed of the USB connection.
    - ADF can only feed standard paper, anything else is an epic failure
    - Memory card reader not reading larger CF cards (1GB or larger)
    - Ink cartridges are tiny / not for office use
    - Not as well built as my photosmart / flimsy paper tray

  • Easy 5 Star Review on this one - fantastic printer!
Replaced my Epson photo printer and Lexmark scanner with this all-in-one for less than the price of my Epson ink!

    Several great features:

Ink: It's almost like it doesn't use ink. I never realized what an ink hog my Epson was until I went HP.

    Price: Ridiculously low.

Scanner: I scan quite a lot. The flat bed or multipage feeder work great to easily create multipage PDFs, TIFs, others.

Software: Very user friendly and easy to configure default settings to to easily and continuously scan documents to an archive, which is what I do to stay mostly paperless in my office.

Draft printing: I use fast draft printing a lot to save ink when printing notes for myself that will be discarded later. This draft option is faster and more legible than other printers.

Overall, I don't see straying from HP in the future for printers.

  • Love it and couldn't beat the price!
I keep coming back to HP even when, at times, I have groused about the newer models. But they're so easy to run and reliable. This is a little more "plastic" than some of the others I've had. But, I only paid $62.00 for it when I got it from Amazon around a month ago and it's a steal for that. It's very basic, does a lot of stuff though and does it well. So I like it. I don't know about paying $99 for it though......more info
  • Great product!
This HP printer does everything that I need it to do to run a small home-based business, and it does it at a fraction of the price I could have spent to get the same features. Highly recommended!...more info
  • HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One printer
I bought this product for my son who was having to pay to have copies made. It certainly has come in handy in his search for a job. He just loves all the features and ease of operation. The image quality is clear and sharp. He really is enjoying it, not only for professional applications but for fun stuff too. The price was great. Service was fantastic. What a great product!!...more info
  • nice printer-nice price
I just installed the printer, and it was quick and easy. I used all the funtions and all the pic's were perfect, fax sent and recieved no problem. Now I hope the ink cart's last a while. overall I am very happy with price and quality....more info
  • Good so far...
Pros: Amazing functionality for it's price, full front panel control of most functions, plays well with Linux.
Cons: Tiny ink cartridges, printing is relatively slow.

My wife set this up with Windows XP, and in less than an hour reported full tunctionality, fax, scanning, and all. From the Linux side, we've not tried to do more than print yet, but it works fine.

Another in the long line of HP printers which are amazingly cheap and functional, but for which we'll gradually pay a small fortune in ink....more info
  • Ok printer, but not all functions work with Vista
You can not use the scan function with Vista. You have to open Paint software and scan from within it. Very time consuming and had I known I would not have purchased this printer. I am using a HP Computer and this is a HP printer. You would think they would be compatible. Shame on HP for putting out an inferior printer. I expect more from them....more info
  • HP OJ 6310 AIO
The HP OJ 6310 AIO Printer would print, but would not scan photos or documents. After hours on the telephone with a technician in India, he gave up and promised that another technician would call me. No one ever did. So, I really don't feel that I can recommend the printer to anyone. ...more info
  • A suprising AIO with excellent bluetooth and network features
I think this printer in underrated.

It has many features that an occasional normal customer might never find out. Let me point out the various features i found out by accident.

I tend to use printers as network printers. So first connected to a network and gave it a fixed network IP. Was able to connect via XP and add as a TCP/IP printer and voila it worked. No need to add the junk on the disk.

Secondly, i noticed a small bluetooth port in front of the printer. Added a cheapo 3$ bluetooth device and voila it worked as a bluetooth printer. No need to add the junk from the disk yet. Used the small bluetooth device from eforcity ( i think any microsoft bluetooth protocol device should work, who needs to buy costly HP BT device). They should advertise the bluetooth capabilities!

Alas for scanning i had to install the disk and it went smooth. I don't know if already setting up everything helped or not.

BTW the best thing yet is the network way to even scan pages. If pointed as http://device_ip/ where device_ip = ip on the network. it allows to print and scan without installing any junk software.

I think they should advertise that other than the driver, the software is optional :)

BTW the printing is OK. Sufficient for most usage.

Both BlueTooth printing and Network printing/scanning features are awesome and the cheap price (at cost of the ink cartridge) i got it for made me give it 5 stars.

  • Good Printer but heavy on Ink
The printer gives excellent quality. I got about 500 pages out of the ink cartridges before having to change them. Deliver was good. Haven't faxed or copied yet as I ran out of ink after the first job (500 pages)....more info
  • HP Printer
The item was delivered on time and in good condition. While HP products are very good, the company continues the practice of embedding marketing programs in the installation software. This is annoying....more info
  • In hindsight....
Perhaps I should have purchased the printer BEFORE I bought all of that paper... lesson learned... Now I can actually USE the paper for something other than paper airplanes, crayon coloring, and wallpaper.

In any event, this printer/scanner/copier/fax machine/photo printer/trans-dimensional teleportation device is merely "fair", hence the three stars. I was disappointed that it didn't have wheels or a motor engine. That would have been cool.

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out all of its uses. For instance, apparently you need to have a working phone line in order to use the fax machine. The printer works - I mean, it puts ink to paper. I'm pretty sure that the words it prints are the words I've written.

A word of warning: If you are a "plus" sized individual, do not try to make "personal" copies of your hindquarters. Yeah, I thought it could hold my girth, but I write this as I'm picking splinters of glass out of my bottom. It's uncomfortable by the way - I have to fully twist around holding a mirror with tweezers - I didn't realize how hairy my rear is. Wow.

I was trying to track the expansion of my bottom (see my Snickers review) chronologically, but after this failure I'll just have to continue using the office copier.

And get this: HP DOES NOT OFFER REFUNDS IF YOU'VE INNOCENTLY DAMAGED THEIR PRODUCTS. Yeah, I know! I was shocked myself - literally because the printer was still plugged in. ...more info

  • HP 6310 all in one..a good value
This is my third HP Three in one for my home office in 6 years . I predict about a 2 year life with daily small office tasks . The quality of print is very good, the scanning feature is handy but rather slow. Faxing speed is OK for an occasional fax. With technology changing so fast, it is best to consider this type of machine as disposable . Spending three times as much may procure a longer lasting machine but the technology would be outdated before the machine expired. ...more info
  • Ok unit as long as you don't use it often...
I purchased this HP 6310 March 2008. Right away it installed just fine, and worked great. Printing, scanning, faxing, all excellent. As time went by, my work load increased and I have learned that although the price of the unit was competitive my toner cost for this year will be $200.00
Don't try to put too much paper in the paper feeder or it will jam. About 20 sheets is the max, regardless of what the directions say.
Don't like junk-Email ? Watch out, you will be barraged with ads for this product from HP with limitless updates, which I suspect do nothing for the performance of the printer. Almost everyday I have some update from HP, I began to suspect it's just ads.
Although this unit works fine, it cannot handle my work load now. It would be great for someone who does not print every day all day long, as I am now.
Bottom line, I'm looking for a new all-in-one that can work all day and not run thru toner every month.
    Any suggestions?

  • Overall a good product, but needs a bit of help.
This a reliable and economical printer. I have owned at home and used at work a number of Hewlett Packard printers and have always been happy with the performance and the cost to print per page. Easy to use and set up for the most part. Watching your settings for print quality can make a cartridge last for a long time. I purchased mainly for use as a printer and scanner (I do not use the fax function or the memory card slots)and was happy to see that it included an automatic document feeder. Over the last two weeks I have used the ADF to scan over 1000 pages of documents, including 8 x 14 legal sheets and it has worked very well. The ADF can be a bit fussy about paper quality and thickness; pages need to be lined up neatly and fanned so they feed correctly. I have saved a lot of time, unit is fast on multiscans. My main complaint with this printer and HP printers in general is that they do not work well with Windows Vista (does anything?), and even with Windows XP there are still problems. Communication and settings are lost even after installing patches from the HP website. On-line help is easily accessible, although answers are not 100% complete. I would recommend this printer for home or small business use. ...more info
