Quick and Easy Installation
Easy to install correctly, regardless of whether your vehicle is LATCH compatible or not, the Roundabout takes the guesswork out of installation so you know your child is safely positioned on every trip. The Roundabout features a tangle-free, five-point harness made with rough and tough polyester webbing to resist wear and tear. The push-button LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) connectors help tightly secure your child quickly and easily so you won't have to worry about struggling with endless straps and complicated procedures, and convenient belt holders keep the harness to the side so you can place the child in the seat. Additionally, the harness offers three adjustable shoulder height positions for a snug fit over the shoulders, collarbone, and hips.

Finally, the Roundabout provides built-in lock-off clips that keep the seat tightly in place when using only traditional seatbelts at installation. A simple handle pull allows the car seat base to be easily reclined when rear-facing, and the one-pull harness strap adjuster makes for a quick, easy, and secure fit every time.

HUGS for Optimum Safety and Support
When it comes to safety, the Roundabout truly delivers. First, the patented floating HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard) system exceeds U.S. safety standards by reducing forward head movement as it gently cushions the neck and chest with soft padding--a feature that's particularly important both in the case of an accident and during nap time. Made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extra thick comfort foam, this system better distributes the webbing loads, reducing head movement and minimizing harness irritation on baby's neck in case of impact. HUGS also reduces the chance of improperly positioning the chest clip.

Versa-Tether for Additional Security
The Roundabout also offers Britax's patented Versa-Tether, an anchor aid that provides additional security in the forward facing position for children weighing more than 50 pounds. The Versa-Tether fastens the top of the car seat to factory-installed automobile anchor points, minimizing the possibility of a head injury in the event of impact.

Weighing only 14 pounds when empty, and measuring 18.25 x 25 x 23.5 inches (WxHxD), the Roundabout is incredibly comfortable. For added convenience, it is certified for air travel. The Roundabout comes with a limited 1-year limited warranty.

The Roundabout is also available in the following colors: Granite, Cowmooflage, New Denim, Tan Swirl, and Jessica.

Features:
  • Easy installation with built-in lock-off clips, Versa-Tether and Safe Guard LATCH Connectors
  • Tangle-free 5 point harness with 3 heights for convenience and a more secure fit
  • Equipped with Energy Absorbing EPS foam for additional protection during impact
  • Push button, one pull front harness adjustment
  • Rear facing: 5 to 35 pounds. Forward facing: At least 1 year old and 20 to 40 pounds

Customer Reviews:

  • Great
The product is obviously perfect - no regrets in buying it. Very soft, very practical, just great. Working with babyage.com was great, too. The package was lost, and at first we thought it was babyage.com's fault, but turns out it was UPS's fault, and babyage was very accomodating. ...more info

  • best car seat
This is the best carseat ever! It's amazingly practical and easy to use, plus super comfortable for baby. We will get this same carseat for future kiddos. We're sold on Britax for life....more info
  • Love the Camooflage!
We bought this car seat for my 6 month old daughter. She LOVES it. It is very comfortable. The print is adorable and the fabric is very soft. The seat is versatile in that is reclines and sits straight. She loves taking car rides and is perfectly content in her new seat. I was a little concerned that Britax seats are known to be a little on the larger side. We have an Xterra and it fits just perfect. Easy to install and easy to clean with the removable/washable cover. I would totally recomend this carseat to others. ...more info

  • Worth the price
It sits higher than most car seats so it's easier to strap the kids in. I have three car seats in the back seat of my car and it fits nicely. The seat also has velcro that attaches to the straps so when you unbuckle the seat and take your child out the straps stay open. This is great for when you are putting a sleeping baby in the car and don't have an extra hand to open the straps. When my youngest grows out of the infant seat, I'll definitely get another one!...more info
  • AWESOME convertible carseat!
I haven't used this seat yet since my baby won't be born until May, but it is VERY plush! Excellent quality. I would def recommend this car seat to all my friends and family!! ...more info
  • get the Marathon
Decent seat, but I should have bought the Marathon! My kid is tall, so I had to turn him forward at 18 mos because his head was over the shell. (AAP guidelines say keep your kid rear-facing till 2 years - do some research and you will be saddened at what the "authorities" suggest by turning your kid at 1yr/20lbs) Now, he's almost 2 and the shoulder straps are at the highest setting. I anticipate he will outgrow the seat in the next 6 months or less. Had I spent the extra $50 on the Marathon it would have lasted him two more years. The straps are not padded and get twisted quite easily. If your kid is a peanut, then this might work out for you, but if you have an average to large kid GET THE MARATHON!!!...more info
  • Terrible instructions
This seat is visually attractive but the pros end there. The instructions that come with the seat are simply terrible. The illustrated pictures that are supposed to help clarify how to install the seat are too small to provide any useful information (i.e., they are about 1" by 1"). Moreover, unlike other car seats that provide a means for determining if the chair is at an appropriate angle (e.g., our Chicco seat has a built-in bubble level; Graco seats have a built-in bubble level as well), this chair requires you to "eye-ball" if it is at the appropriate 30- to 45-degree angle. Personally, I don't like having to place my son's life in my ability to visually judge an angle. Furthermore, the instructions repeatedly cross-reference other pages in the manual. Thus, as you are reading the relevant installation instructions on page 18 you are then sent to page 30; you then go back to page 18 and a few steps later you are sent to another page. It is simply aggravating. Moreover, when you go to the Britax website it is exceptionally difficult to find the information you need (e.g., you have to find the manufacture date of you chair to be able to get the link for the how-to videos on YouTube). Unfortunately, these videos have close to the same level of detail as the 1" by 1" photos in the manual. Finally, this chair just feels flimsy. Thus, overall, I will not trust my son's safety to people who lack the ability to provide an clarity regarding their product's use. That is a major part of their business and if they cannot do that well I worry about what else they cannot do well....more info
  • Definitely made the right choice with this seat
My little guy was getting too long for his infant carrier and would fuss every time I put him in it. Now he has a smile on his face when he gets in his Britax Roundabout seat (the musical mirror helps too)! I drive a sedan (Nissan Maxima) and was frustrated that I couldn't use his infant carrier with the LATCH system in my car because it was too big and had to go in the middle of the back seat. We also had to use pool noodles to get the base level and I was constantly having to readjust. I didn't have any of these problems with the Britax Roundabout. It fits great in my car and is easy to install using the LATCH system. Seems very comfy for my little guy and I love the velcro tabs to keep the straps in place when getting him in and out of the seat. This car seat is definitely worth the investment....more info

  • well worth it....
My 16 month old daughter and I were in a wreck, my tahoe flipped and landed upside down, her carseat never moved, she walked away...def. worth the money!...more info
  • Britax Carseat- Best among many.
This car seat is amazing. I also have a Recaro, which I bought because it would last so long, but I think the Roundabout will meet our needs for a long time, too. My son is 7 almost 8 months, and pushing 25 lbs. I was worried that he'd outgrow a smaller seat, but I don't think that's the case, after all. He is MUCH more comfortable in the Britax, and he can actually take a bottle in the seat and take comfortable naps. The Recaro sits a bit too upright for either of those activities, unless you use some kind of towel or noodle to adjust it. I don't like the idea of pool toys involved in propping up my baby's car seat. I do like the Recaro in my Mom's SUV (Grandma loves having a car seat, and it is a nice one) but I prefer the Britax in my Subaru for ease of getting in and out, room left in the backseat, and baby's overall comfort, especially for longer trips. I don't feel like I sacrificed quality by buying the cheaper model (as opposed to the Marathon), it's our best car seat yet....more info
  • So far so good.
I guess I am happy with the product though I don't know why they cost twice more than my sis' Cosco car seat which seems to have more functions. They could have at least put a padding on the seat belt....more info
  • Jessica Britax Carseat
I love this car seat! It has a pretty seat cover that you can change which means I can use it for my next child, even if its a boy. I also love that it has velcro on the seat belt so it holds the belts open to easily put my little girl in. Very easy to adjust seat belts and to switch from car to car since we only have one seat. It's definately worth a little extra cash! Plus, who can argue with the safest seat available!?!...more info
  • Excellent
This is a great product it is easy to use and fits easily into smaller vehicle. It has very simple adjustments and a little velcro to hold the straps back as you are loading your child. Nice feature. Also you can adjust the straps by simply pushing a button and pulling a strap while your child is in the seat. In the research I did it actually got better ratings than the Marathon. ...more info
  • It's a good car seat, but there are equally good car seats for a quarter of the price.
Check out Consumer Reports' review of car seats, and you will see several seats rated both as safe and as easy to use as the Britax. But instead of paying $200 or more, you can pay $50-100. Those car seats are just as attractive, too.

Furthermore, of the three car seats we own, the Britax is by far the easiest for a toddler to unbuckle on his or her own. I actually prefer to use the other ones, which are a little harder for a toddler to open....more info
  • Survived a flip-over car accident INTACT!
i have this car seat for my 3 year old daughter and a britax boulevard for my 18 month old son. i already thought they were great car seats, but i was unfortunately able to test their limits in a car accident. my car slid, hit a utility pole (on my daughter's side) and flipped over onto its top. all three of us were hanging upside down. not only are my children fine--just a few bruises from the straps--but both car seats were completely intact. i am back now to order new car seats (they recommend you not use seats that have been in an accident, no matter their condition) and there is no way i would ever buy anything else. these seats are worth their weight in gold. if you can afford it, BUY IT!...more info
  • Great Carseat
This is a great seat, I highly recommend it. Our son has been using this seat since he grew out of his infant seat at 1. While you can't expect a 16 month old to love a carseat, our son is always comfortable, even on longer car rides. The seat is incredibly convenient to adjust and getting him in and out is easy, especially with the velcro that holds the straps out of the way. It fits comfortably in our Honda CRV, which is a smaller SUV. The seat cover is very easy to clean.

As a side note, I would definitely recommend an infant seat starting out. The ability to take a sleeping baby out of the car in their car seat is a convenience that I missed as soon as our son outgrew his infant seat....more info
  • fine seat: just a little hard to put in and take out
This is a fine seat. My only qualm is that it is a bit difficult to put it in, and take it out. But once you get the hang of it, you'll be OK. Also the straps get twisted up for some reason; have to figure out how/why that is happening!...more info

  • From Birth to Now
We've used this car seat from birth. My daughter is 24 lbs and 21 months, and we still have her rear-facing. There are numerous studies in the Injury Prevention Journal indicating this is the safest position for her.

We had the seat professional installed and it worked perfect for our almost 8 lbs newborn daughter. She left the hospital in this seat, and we've been 100% pleased.

I've washed the cover twice in a year and a half. I washed it on cold and hung it to dry. It is easy to take on and put off. I've installed the seat in several other cars due to traveling and it couldn't be easier. I know it's safe. It's obvious she's comfortable as she doesn't fuss when we put her in it.

I felt compelled to write this review because I saw someone else said you couldn't use it for a newborn. YES, you can. It's rated as such and it worked great....more info
  • Great Choice for Honda Civic
This car seat just fits in my 2002 Honda Civic Si. I can't imagine how a "regular" car seat could ever fit in this car. If you have a Honda Civic (or similar sub-compact), this car seat from Britax is the only choice for your vehicle.

Cons? Of course. My daughter is about 15 lbs. and has much less support in this seat compared to the one that came with our Chicco travel system. This seat is rated for newborns but I would never put my newborn in it. The other issue I have is how the base digs into the upholstery. After it was installed for a week I had deep impressions in my back seat. You might want to consider a car seat saver from Prince Lionheart. That's what I did....more info
  • Comfortable for baby, painful for adult
I ripped my hands to shreds trying to install this seat in my middle row (trailblazer 06) behind the driver's seat. I moved the front seat all the way up and folded over on the steering wheel to give me adequate room for installing this seat, and it was still difficult. The seat itself is very large and cumbersome to put in, and then I found (after much aggrevation) that the latch straps were about an inch TOO SHORT! I finagled that thing around for about an hour trying to get it to fit, and it wouldn't. I tried this seat in three different positions, first with a foam insert to elevate the recline (for an infant), second with a piece of foam that I took off a murdered foam noodle, and third time without ANY foam and flush against the seat. It still wouldn't reach. At this point, I was beyond upset and cursing the gods. I gave up and used the seat belt. Which was an event in its own right, because the clasps meant to secure the belt wouldn't close because the belt was pulled too securly (what???). It also took a lot of tugging on the shoulder strap to pull the seat belt tight enough to hold it in place (so it wouldn't move more than an inch). I have 4 kids, and have gone through numerous car seats in the progression of their aging. This has got to be the hardest car seat I have every installed. I did finally get it in, and it will stay there probably until I sell the car. And then I'll sell it with the car. My hands were bloody from scraping against the plastic while reaching my hand into the tiny holes meant to put the seat belt and latch straps through. And I have small hands.
But other than all THAT, the seat appears to be very comfortable for my infant who is 6 months old and 23 pounds. I do recommend using a foam insert to recline the seat further (under the base, to tip it) that is recommended for the purpose such as that, if you have an infant. I got mine from the [...] website....more info
