Product Description

Polar Chest Strap and Transmitters sold as a set. Front transmitter connection , Fits 27" to 60"

The Polar WearLink transmitter combines superior Polar technology with a new fabric design. The electrodes, which pick up the heart's signals, are engineered right into the fabric strap. The result is a superior fit for any individual body shape, providing revolutionary comfort and full freedom of movement. The transmitter's textile strap is removable and machine washable. Its clip-on mechanism ensures quick and easy wear, and the belt is easy to put on and take off.

Polar's coded technology ensures that the user picks up only their heart signal, and not the signal of another heart rate monitor nearby. With millions of HRMs in use today, there's a good chance that someone working out next to you may also have one on. Interference from any other HRM is now eliminated and an accurate signal is ensured.

About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

Features:
  • Soft, comfortable HRM transmitter with electrodes, engineered right into the fabric
  • Compatible with all Polar Heart Rate Monitors
  • Coded to eliminate interference from other HRMs
  • Machine washable
  • User replaceable battery--up to 2-year battery life

Customer Reviews:

  • Good product, working as should.
I lost the original transmitter that cames with the Polar and I saw that my polar works with the Polar Wearlink Coded model, so I bought this model and it is working fine. I really like this wearlink, and the differential to buy this specific model was the option to change battery, because the regular one does not offer this option, once the battery stop to work, you need to buy a new one.
Summary, it is good and works fine, in my case I really like it....more info
  • Excellent Product from Polar
This is my favorite heart rate moniotor that Polar has made. Finally, no struggling to take it off....it is easy to slip on and off with the new hook design. I depend on it for accurate monitoring and it delivers. A great product. ...more info
  • Excellent transmitter
This is the 3rd transmitter I am buying. I lost the other 2 - left them in hotel rooms while traveling.

This transmitter is comfortable. Even though it's "coded", I still have an occassional problem with picking up signals from someone on a piece of equipment next to me.

Although this transmitter may look like it will break, I can attest that it's extremely durable. You don't need to worry about breaking this thing, but don't forget to pack it when you check out !...more info
  • Better than the original
I purchased this transmitter when a similar one I had stopped working correctly due to corrosion. This one is designed much better than the one that comes with the F11 watch. It's a pretty big investment, but I have found it to be invaluable!...more info
  • Am I wearing a HR monitor strap?
This sure beats the old plastic piece across the front. Being female and wearing a sports bra, made those old plastic pieces very uncomfortable and they messed with my elastic on the bra. This is fabulous. I forget I have it on....more info
  • WORKS WELL
COMFORTABLE TO WEAR. WORKS WELL SOME NUMBERS MAY BE HARD TO READ FOR THOSE NEEDING READING GLASSES. EVERY NOW AND THEN WATCH LOOSES CONTACT ON CYCLE MACHINES BUT SEEMS TO BE OK ON TREADMILLS AND GENERAL JOGGING. WORKING WITH WEIGHTS HAS NO ADVERSE EFFECTS....more info
  • Much improved vs the previous model
The picture on this product indicates the strap is the old model, where the band's ends clip into the transmitter module. I'd had problems with the old design due to sweat corroding the contacts and giving me intermittent pickup - I used to have to buy a new band every 6 months or so.

When I got the new set, I found that they had improved the design - the band now fastens at the side, with the transmitter still in the center but with rubber cups around the contacts to help prevent corrosion. Not had any issue so far, just reliable operation. Very happy with the new design.

  • Excellent works great with Cybex Machines!
Comfortable to wear, works instantly no problem so far. Strap is easy to adjust to different sizes. ...more info
  • It works well
The electrodes need to be wet before you wear it, just run it under tap water for a few seconds. It works fine with my F6 receiver and is comfortable. The treadmills in the gym also pick up the signals very well....more info
  • Works great (and out of the box) with Polar RS200 Monitor
I managed to lose the strap that came with my heart rate monitor and was very happy to see that I could buy a transmitter belt here and not have to to buy a new monitor and belt. I have been using my RS200 for a couple of years ( and really like it). I wasn't sure from the Polar site or reviews here (though maybe I didn't look closely enough) what it would take for the the transmitter to "talk with" the monitor. The good news is that there was no issue at all -- the monitor basically picks up the signal directly from the belt (probably helps to hold the watch near the belt).

The belt is comfortable and fits well (I have a 42" chest) and being able to easily replace the battery (versus sealed batteries in older belts) is a plus.

    Highly recommended....more info
  • Dissatisfied with product and Polar customer service
I am a doctor and for quite a few years was a Polar distributor in my practice because I believed that Polar was a good company with good heart monitors. I purchased the Wearlink transmitter belt a few years ago. It only worked for a few weeks before it stopped functioning. I used the belt that came with the Polar heart monitor since then. Recently I noticed my old Wearlink transmitter and went on Polar's website and saw that they offer a replacement battery and cover but there was no place to actually purchase this on their website. I emailed them to purchase this replacement battery and and cover (I mostly wanted the cover because my was ruined by trying to remove it to see what kind of battery was required)and they refused saying that I must send my Wearlink in for repair. The cost of doing this is excessive and I think that if a person wants to try replacing the battery and cover themself they should be allowed to try before being charged excessive fees for a battery and having to pay shipping for a service that may not be required....more info
  • Excellent
I bought this to replace my previous wearlink transmitter that my dog chewed up. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this one. It is updated from the original one I received with my unit and it is more sensitive and fits more comfortable than the original wearlink. This is by far the most comfortable heartrate monitor transmitter available....more info
  • Worth the price
Have had no problems with my new transmitter. Bought this one as a replacement and have been pleased with it....more info
  • Polar Wearlink
I bought a new heart rate monitor and this transmitter came with it. I have had to replace the battery after about 9 months which was no big deal. Since than I have had so many problems with the transmitter stopping in the middle of a run. I have replaced the battery so many times that the cover now is stripped which means I have to replace the entire sensor since Polar does not just sell a cover. I would probably not buy another Polar. I am disappointed in their lack of reasonable support of the product. I thought having a replacement battery was a positive however the design flaws make the device unstable after the cover and battery is removed. ...more info
  • more comfortable than the rubber model
I bought this transmitter because I did not know that the Polar Heart Rate Monitors came with a transmitter included in the box. I could not find anything that specified this, so I ended up purchasing an extra transmitter.

That being said, this transmitter is super comfortable. The rubber model that comes with the heart rate monitors does not have any comfort issues over this one. The electrodes are sewn inside the fabric of the strap, and they are soft. The only hard piece on this is the plastic transmitter part that is not that big in the front. If you are doing something that involves a lot of body motion, like aerobics, tennis, dance or lifting weights, this fabric model is a better alternative to the rubber model. This fabric strap transmitter might also be a better option for women, who may already be dealing with an underwire bra at the gym.

As far as functionality goes, you won't really need a coded transmitter unless you are using the HRM in a crowded environment where EVERYONE is using monitors. Like at my gym, where the personal trainers sell the Polar brand of HRMs, hold weekly training classes about them, and encourage everyone to buy them. If you don't find yourself in this type of environment, but you find the regular transmitter to be uncomfortable, than this is for you. If the regular transmitter does not hurt you, then you don't really need this.

One problem with this transmitter is the clip mechanism that you use to snap it shut. The little plastic points that clip in look like something I am going to break in about a month. Everytime I snap it open or closed I feel like I'm breaking it.

  • polar transmitter
The product works as advertised. The only problem I have with this is that the buckle is hard to undo when you are done with your workout. The treadmill recognizes the polar as I step on to it. Allows a hands free cardio or fat burn workout. ...more info
  • Polar transmitter
I purchased this item along with a Polar heart rate monitor. The combination enables me to maintain my heart rate within the desired range during cardio exercises. I have also observed that this transmitter works with many of the treadmills, bicycles and eliptical machines at the gym so I can monitor my heart rate on the readout panel of the machine without checking my wrist monitor. ...more info
  • comfortable, washable, serviceable
I'm happy to throw away my original polar belt; this one is much better....more info
  • great replacement for original
much more functional/comfortable, especially for larger chests (52)... the connection's not going to break like the snap on the original strap.
    bravo.

  • Comfortable, but pricey!
Note: I understand from a friend that Polar USA will take back old/warn-out sensors and send you a new one for $25 or so. You might want to check into that if you're looking for a replacement that has stopped working correctly.

This replacement sensor is comfortable and the entire band can now be removed from the small sensor and washed, which is nice for those who care about that sort of thing. I personally never found the old plastic sensor bands to be uncomfortable, but this model, made primarily from a nylon cloth, is so comfortable that you'll forget that you're wearing it. It also has worked flawlessly and seems to have better range then the old style -High Recommended ...more info
