  • After using it a couple times it's great!
It's sturdy and well-made. Once you use it a few times and get the hang of it, it's wonderful. $20 at Target, not bad!...more info
  • SECURITY GATE- SAFE AND EASY TO USE
This gate not only looks good but is easy to use and does not damage the walls. Since I am using this at the top of the stairs I wanted something that would be easy and not be a danger for someone to fall down the stairs while trying to open or close- Its so easy to use its easier to open than it is to try to step over....more info
  • Lovely gate
I use this gate to keep my two Cocker Spaniels and one Shih Tzu out of my bedrooms and it works perfectly, although one of the Cockers jumped over it because my husband told her how to do so. That's why I decided to mount the gate hardware and left a little space at the bottom so the gate is a little taller and now she can't jump over and neither can pass under. I can take the gate easily off and mount it pressure on any door frame of my house. It's very easy to open and close, a bit complicate at the beginning if you don't know how it works, but then there is no problem at all. This gate looks great and it is not expensive. I really love my gate....more info
  • hard to use, quit working
I never really liked this gate because it is somewhat hard to use. I bought another one because I needed two gates and this one was the only one available.

The first one that I bought no longer works. The handle used to open and adjust it will not lift.

I have the new one pressure mounted at the bottom of the stairs and it works ok for this. My banister post is round and tapered so it is smaller at the top. The pressure mounts on this gate adjust a little to fit, so it is working as a temporary fix.

It would work fine for a plain pressure mount, but it is hard to step over....more info
  • Okay gate
This gate is decent enough for us to keep, but I am not completely happy with it. The more it is extended, the less secure it feels. It took a little bit for me to get accustomed to unlocking and locking it. Even after I got used to it, it still seems to require a lot of pressure to get it locked into place and tight enough that I feel it is secure. We haven't had any problems with our child getting past the gate, so we have kept it. It is reasonably priced and does work--I just think there are probably more user friendly gates available....more info
  • LOVE this gate!
I wish I could've given this four and a half stars. This gate is wonderful. I love the fact that it's so easily moved from one location to the next. I love that my 4 year old can open the gate, but my 1 year old doesn't stand a chance. I love that it doesn't mark up my walls. My only complaint about this gate would be that it doesn't work with tall baseboards. Not a problem in my house, but I can see how that would be a pain in some situations. It's also a tad bit of work to adjust sizing, but barely even worth mentioning. This gate truly is wonderful and it was an excellent purchase!...more info
  • Sturdy - but doesn't swing unless mounted
It seems sturdy enough. I'm using it for a pet...I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using it for a toddler though!
Take note, you can't use the swing feature unless you mount the gate. If you use the pressure thing, you have to just step over the gate or move it out of the way entirely....more info
  • Doesn't work as advertised.
Firstly, they call it a pressure-mounted gate, but fail to inform you that if you need to use it as a true "gate", you need to hardware mount it. Otherwise it is a pressure-mounted barrier, not a gate. You need to hurdle it or pull it out to pass.

Secondly, the mechanism was awkward. It kept sticking. Neither my wife nor I could easily slide the two panels.

We returned this and bought the more expensive, but infinitely more usable First Years Hands-Free gate....more info
  • surprisingly good
I purchased this item to keep a small puppy confined in a room while I'm not at home. My main worries were that the item would be a hassle to take down/put up and also that, being a curious sort, my dog would chew apart the gate. After a couple of weeks, neither of these are still issues. My dog hasn't tried to chew the gate at all and, more importantly, it is very simple to move from open to shut when using the pressure lock. I grew up in a house with a lot of baby gates (my mom has a home daycare) and they were all a pain in the neck (hard to open/shut, flimsy, broke after mild use). I'm not sure if this gate is merely representative of new models of baby gates or if it represents the best out there. Regardless, I'm very happy with my purchase!...more info
  • Just OK
I purchased this as a quick fix to block off our kitchen from the living room. I have a more permenant one I use for other areas but I wanted something quick and easy to put up and down in this one area. It's just OK. I wouldn't recommend this as your main safety gate. It's lightweight and easy to set up but not very durable. There is no way to adjust for uneven surfaces like with some other gates. There are much better options out there but at this price you can't expect too much....more info
