Ratchet and clank uya is a great game. You rush through plantes and kill animes. you get to buy wepons and upgrade them as you go. This is good because they gain power. One thing that makes this game great is being able to play as clank not gust ratchet.
The online mode is great now you can bring you skills to a high level. And play people all over the place. Anothe rgreat thing you can do is play 2-4 local player. So this way you and your firends can take out your anger out on each other. And still Have your firends.
- Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal Review
I am a Playstation gamer of a serious magnitude. I am constantly in search of an exhilarating game to keep me slaving into the night, pushing myself to conquer that last level or boss. Many games have disappointed me in the past for their feeble story lines, or facile levels that consume no amount of though at all. I had almost given up video games as a whole for the reason of simply not enough challenge until my friend bestowed upon Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal as a birthday present. After experiencing first-hand this game's depth and quality, I have know idea why I would even consider letting go of video games.
First off, is the never-ending story line that Up Your Arsenal presents. The story line would trick me repeatedly by always giving me one more level to beat before I faced the boss. This was a good thing because only a handful of games keep you on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. All of the levels are diverse, very interactive, and detailed beyond the standard video game. Enemies gradually become harder in coordination with the story and your skill. All of the adversaries are different with each level. For instance, Aquatos is an underwater level filled with sewers and slime, and the enemies there are fierce sewage creatures covered in a poisonous slime that rise from the polluted liquid beneath you. Vast ranges of deadly enemies begin to show themselves toward the end of the game to keep the player enthralled throughout the whole journey.
Next to Halo 2, this game has more weapons than any other game I have played not including all the extra gadgets that you earn and buy. Unlike Halo though, each weapon had a unique and different technique in terminating the enemy. Weapons can also be upgrade as far as Version 8 for maximum performance. These qualities make each gun an adventure in themselves. After talking with fellow RC:UYA online players and conducting polls of a favorite weapon on forums, most people seem to like the Flux Rifle as the weapon of choice as well as the Blitz Gun. Players showed a disliking for the Mini Rocket-tube because of its difficulty to dodge, and the wrench for its impracticable use in tight situations. All of the weapons are a definite plus in the game.
In most games purchased, the online section is a plus, but not the main reason to buy the game. That is not the case for the online adventure in Up Your Arsenal. There can be hundreds and even thousands of players on at a time. The layout of the online system is very accessible, so communication is easy and the search engines are always up-to-date with the most current player online. Everything online is organized and simple enough for an eight year-old, but mature enough for a player of 18 years of age. That is a convenience because I know kids online just starting the sixth grade and adults acquiring there bachelors degree. I still have not found a pedophile out of any of them. The levels are similar to the ones in story mode, but altered for multiplayer activity. There is a choice of levels that are massive and require patience and strategy, and small levels that fire great competition, chaos, and adrenalin. The same goes with the weapons, slightly altered for an even more different feel that drifts the player away from the story mode. The online is the highlight of Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, and if for no other reason, should be bought for the thrill of talking to kids across the country while competing for live stats that rank players on there performance.
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal has not gotten old for months and I still thrive to play it everyday. It is ironic that the activities before I got RC:UYA were the ones that I had substituted for video gaming, and now I have replaced this game for all other hobbies of mine. Between beating story mode, weapon upgrades, and the online adventure I have no regrets of playing this game day in and day out. I think the perfect 10 out of 10 given by PSM magazine to Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal can back me up on that.

This game is pretty good. The graphics are good and gameplay is too. My favorite character in this game is lawrence because he's kinda funny. The game is fun in multiplayer as well. Multiplayer goes up to four players without adapter. I give this gae a 9.9 out of 10....more info
- R&C3 has just lost its sparkle... shame
When I first got Ratchet & Clank 3, I thought: OH MY GOOD GOD!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!! After beating it: WOW! RY3NO!!! ITS SO COOL AND STYLISH!!! After beating it twice: RYNOCIRATOR??? GOD AWFUL NAME AND A GOD AWFUL WEAPON AS WELL!!! After beating it thrice: Sigh... another 30 minutes of wasting my important time beating this game... again. Now; after beating it EIGHT FRIGGIN TIMES: Booooooring. I'm gonna play Jak II... again. SEE??? It rules first but it gets old... REALLY old. OPS2 (Official PlayStation2 Magazine) gave it a 9/10 and said it always kept its 9/10 score it gave it. I'd give it 7/10 and KEEP IT THAT WAY!!!
There is nothing wrong with the graphics at first but then, annoying glitches start appearing. Ratchet's double ended light saber (Unlocked but pausing the game and pressing O, Square, O, Square, up, down, left, left) sometimes loses it's surrounding glow and WHAT happens to the glow? IT APPEARS RIGHT NEXT TO THE LIGHTSABER!!! Also, the character models must have been taken STRAIGHT from Going Commando. The look excactly the same.
The sound is both awful and awesome at the same time. The Metropolis stage from Ratchet & Clank 1 returns and the stage has lost its magic. No green grass, no rocky cliffs, no extremely murderous helicopters witnh machine guns shooting at you and the worst of all: THE PERFECT METROPOLIS STAGE MUSIC HAS BEEN REMIXED INTO A MORE INSTRUMANTAL TECHNO RATHER THAN THE STRAIGHT-TECHNO SONG OF R&C1! Why Insomniac, why? Thankfully, the Blackwater City music remains the same. Unthankfully, the Blackwater City LEVEL is awful. Oh and by the way: The voices are absoulutely perfect.
Now, the ganmeplay is in many ways unaltered but the game itself is just too short and you eventually end up having everything unlocked the 3rd time you play through the game. I have over 20 million (20.000.000!!!) bolts, all weapons upgraded to their final Level 8 Omega versions (except for the Rinocirator since it only goes up to Level 5 :P) and all of the gadgets, costumes, cheats and on and on and on.
Pros and Cons:
1. It's Ratchet & Clank, duh!
2. The best boss fight in platformer history in found in this game: Courtney Gears. I replay the game just for that boss fight.
3. The Insomniac Museum has two secret Qwark Vid-Comics and is just fun to explore.
4. Gun upgrades. Just fun to receive, thats all... except for RY3NO V.5!
5. The cut-scenes are funny and could be re-watched all over again.
6. Courtney Gears.
7. Most boss fights are a joy to play.
1. No races anymore.
2. No Grind Rails. And I liked them so. Goodbye Grind Rails. *sobs*
3. Fewer weapons.
4. Fewer gadgets.
5. Way too short.
6. It gets boring after a while.
7. The final boss fight is one of the game's lowlights.
8. The multiplayer is too shallow and is best played just alone.
9. Only ONE Giant Clank section. And its a movie set!
10. No spaceship fights.
Characters: 6.5- Too samey and poorly balanced rendering
Effects: 3.5- Too bright and cartoony
Levels: 9.5- Greatly rendered and awesome design
Voices: 10- Great selection of voice actors and a well written script
Music: 6.0- Good but has its awful moments
Effects: 8.5- You know what to expect
Lenght: 3.0- Too short and pointless
Replay Value: 7.5- The Courtney Gears boss fight is good enough excuse to buy this game
Fighting: 9.5- Mostly unaltered and still shining
Platforming: 9.5- Awesome... predictably
Best worth as a rental but you can have good moments with it in your living room.
Must try it can I say.
Well... You should buy the original Ratchet & Clank over this.
- What's her name?
I absolutly love this game. it hase a very good sense of humor and um.....how do I say it;very different gameplay. by different I mean fun because it's hard to mix platforming and shooter gameplay, but they did it. I am not sure who came up with"Courtney gears" but that's hilarious. I like the fact that there are lots of differnt guns (the decimator is my fav)and most are useful. How do I explain the multiplayer, it's so fun but kind of annoying. cuz I play four player with a multitap and my friend gets a sniper then chikens out the whole time just sniping. My favorite thing in multiplayer is that you can get turned into a duck or sheep and graze or cwack. I would highly reccomend this game now that it is at such a low price. The only downside i'd say is once you've bought every thing there is nothing at all to do,but there is challenge mode once you beat it,that is fun. I hope this was helpfull....more info

This game is way better than the 1rst and tied with going comando. In this game you get tons of cool weapons, but most of them you have to buy.I know something realy realy cool about the game.At 3through4 AM you can visit a muesem with vehicles and stuff,or if you're on a normal sleep scheduel just change the time on your PS2. And thats why I realy like Up Your Arsenal...more info
- Ratchet and Clank Rule
This game had to be the best one of the 3 part series. Although the events after Going Commando (the 2nd game in the series) aren't cleared up at first, it seems that your enemy is. Dr. Nefarious and his scheme to eliminate organic life. But the one thing that always shined with Ratchet and Clank were the weapons. They are breath-taking. Each has 4 upgrade levels. It is challenging yet so desirable. I couldn't put it down to i got each weapons finalized form. and I mean ALL the weapons. But PARENTS don't be SCARED of all this WEAPON talk. The guns don't go multilate and show gore and blood. There is about no violence that many kids haven't already seen on t.v. movies, etc. So please pick this one up. It is well worth it. Plus the ending is spectatcular...perhaps a sequel...like Ratchet: Deadlocked? ...more info
- Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
The Ratchet and Clank series continues in this action-packed installment! This game is an amazing third installment of the Ratchet and Clank series, and is filled with what a Ratchet and Clank game always has; mayhem, destruction, guns, humor, more guns, adventure, and lastly, guns.
This game has amazing graphics and gameplay, along with enough shooting to last you a year! This game has awesome upgradable guns, and a lot of humor! This is the kind of game that you don't get bored of after beating it, for it is a shooting game, and third-person shooting never gets boring! If you somehow do get bored of beating the computer over and over again, and want to test your skills against others, play online and put your skills to the test!
Apart from having good graphics, gameplay, and humor, this game is extremely challenging. The bosses really challenge your skills and put them to the test, and as you progress through the game, the bosses get harder and harder. This game is also an adventure game, unlike it's sequel, Ratchet: Deadlocked, which is NOT an adventure game, but a gladiator game, meaning all you do is play gladiator fights, and there is barely any adventure. Ratchet and Clank has the gladiator fights, but they are not as good as the ones in Ratchet: Deadlocked, for the game does not concentrate in gladiator fights.
Now you might ask "Which Ratchet and Clank game should I buy, the third or fourth installment?" That depends completely on the person who is making the decision. If you like plain old shooting games, with mindless blasting and shooting your opponents throughout the whole game, then go ahead and buy Ratchet: Deadlocked. On the other hand, if you are the kind of person who likes mind challenges, as well as some shooting, then buy Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. They are both very good, and I personally recommend both of them, but that completely depends on the person
Recommendation: I don't have an exact recommendation, but just to let you know, Ratchet: Deadlocked is currently $40.00, while Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is only $20.00, so I just wanted to point that out. ...more info
- Chaotic...Compelling...and Cheap.
- CHEAP-@$$ REVIEW
[NOTE:] If you're one of those people that wanted to buy "Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal" for twenty dollars but hate getting the ugly "greatest hits" version, don't worry. You can still find the regular version of this game in certain stores and still cost twenty US bucks.
That's what I did above, and I manage to buy the most addictive action-platforming game in its natural and cheap way. This is easily the best PS2 game I've played of 2004. This game is an amalgamation of video game genres, and it works so damn well; not only it's a shooter, it's a platform, it's ALSO a streamlined-rpg along with side-quests to boot. Sure, I mostly run around and shoot at things like Al Pacino in "Scarface", but I have many weapons to waste enemies, like the Suck Cannon, the Annihilator, and my favorite, THE QUACK-O-RAY, and they level up the more I used them. The RPG content of this game makes this use more of my time to play with it to gain more levels.
With excellent graphics (despite frame-rate hiccups when dealing w/ lots of enemies) and sound comes an excellent sense of humor. This game laughed my butt from beginning to end, even when the story to its core is not so special. I laughed so hard whenever Captain "bull-headed" Qwark says something stupid to make him look good, or when the evil Dr. Nefarious goes so overzealous that he short-circuited mid-way, or whenever the troops in the battle missions whine about something. It's good that the gameplay is fun, but it's even better when the story and the characters around it are so outrageous that it leave me wanting more of that.
There are a lot of other things to do within the mission objectives. I can look for vid-comics to play the 2-D Captain Qwark mini-games, or go to annihilation nation to beat up strong baddies for dough to buy some more weapons. There's also a hacking game in a form of a puzzle. There are so much to do here, I can remember what it is. Don't forget: multiplayer is the hot thing in this game, especially online play. Although, there isn't a lot of users playing in the online universe, since all the other R&C fans are waiting for "Ratchet: Deadlocked." Then again, waiting for a year to buy the game for 20 dollars less can do that.
The best thing about the game is how streamlined the game is. I can buy ammo for the all weapons at the store, and I can switch weapons at the touch of a button. With that and the control, makes the whole game seems smooth as silk. The game is long, too; it took me well at 20 hours. Even when I beat the game, I can play the slightly-harder challenge mode afterwards (I'm still playin' challenge mode to this date), and I do say "slightly-harder" because if you maximized your entire stock of weapons, it won't be THAT big of a challenge. Sure, the game isn't as much fun the second time around, it's worth it to buy strong weapons and achieving 100% of the whole game.
So, yep, this game is a lot of fun. This may be my first foray into the "Ratchet & Clank" universe, but playing UYA is enough to know what's going on as a whole. Unless I needed to play them for the sake of exclusive materials such as Ratchet's old costume, I don't need to play the other games to know how fun the series is. With a game that's easy to get into but challenging for certain gamers, has many things to do here, not to mention the lasting value and online play, you gotta be nuts to not have played this. Get it...especially when it's cheap....more info

- Once again PS2 come out with another shocker.
Okay in the very beginning you start out on a spaceship playing galactic chess with clank when you get news of a tyrannoid invasion on a planet called veldin and that's where the whole adventure begins. If you want some info on how to win cheats, gadgets and new outfits I'm the gamer to talk to . I can also give you some info on how to win with very little trouble. I say very little because there are a few parts of the game that you have to use your head to figure out like the boss battles, or some of the missons on anialation nation, you have to study the enemies moves and find the perfect react and attack time. You also have to use your head to find secret areas wich contain titanium bolts these are what you use to by the different outfits I mentioned sometimes you need certain gadgats to find or reach the titanium bolts. You have to search hard to find some of these gadgets and others are hard to get a hold of because they cost a heck of a lot of money or bolts. Most people would usually just go crazy and buy every gun in the game without thinking about anything. But armor is just as important as the guns if not more, so be sure not to forget about armor.Break all boxes especially ones with blue contents inside. This is the health open to you in the game it's called nanotech. after surviving massive amounts of enemies, or damadge your nanotech level increases.Skillpoints are what opens up cheat codes. To get skill points complete challenges and ranger missons. To be good at this game it takes practice, patience, perserverence, and reflex. This is a great game I defenatly reccomended it. ...more info
- Lots of new worlds to explore!
I have so much fun exploring all the different levels of R&C. I was a little concerned that the third game in the series would be a bit redundant but Insomniac Games didn't let me down! Each level is beautiful and colorful. Finding the platinum bolts on each level are a welcome challenge.
The enemies are comparable to the ones in the other games just a bit harder ... as they should be. The ninjas are irritating though. They come flipping and bouncing at you. I must say, it is a pleasure to just shoot them down with my annihilator! Lol!
This is a wonderful game for stress relief. All the bashing, shooting and humorous, little movie skits. I would recommend this game to anyone. There is something else I have noticed. The violence in this game is mainly directed at robots and space aliens. It's refreshing not to be blowing another human to smithereens in a video game.
Can't wait to get my copy of R & C 'Size Matters" ! ...more info
- The Most Reliable Review
The game is definitely on my favorites list. The game is fun ,the game itself is beautiful, and a nice story and plot. One of my favorite things about this game is that you can customize your ship. I also like the fact that you have your own home spaceship were you can see all your homies, train with new weapons, and explore. And instead of the game forcing you were to go, you can either go to the assigned planet, or go to a planet that you already completed and play on that level.I would say the youngest player could be about 8 to fully enjoy the game. And there are many difficulties to chose from. And parents, the game is blood free, mostly cartoon violence and lots of clean humor. But I suggest you play the first Ratchet and Clank games before this one to get a full grasp on the story and the characters....more info
- Awesome game!
This game is the best game made for PS2! The newest and best addition to the Ratchet and Clank series so far! Online play with this game is the best...you can get up to 8 people in one game and fight with each other to the finish! Siege, Capture the Flag, and Deathmatch...along with the single player story mode, makes this game the best! I am addicted to online play and I have made many friends. Cooperate with your teammates with a PS2 headset and you get to talk to your team and strategize to win! 1000000 Stars! -bryanleo...more info
- multiplayer ok, adventure, EXELENT!
i am a natural fan of this game, and am a proud owner of all the ratchet and clank games from insomniac games, and all the games in the jak and daxter sieres from naughty dog... and overall i think that this game and jak II are the greatest achievments that these wonderfull corperations have made, i say this because i thank them for giving me somthing to do, rather than laying in bed, or trying to beat the game for the 50th time on some other game... but this game has it all... the multiplayer is fun with someone else, but if you are alone then this is the game for you, instaed of those small MINI games that are usually not includuded in most games, there are hoverbike races, arena combats, and so much more! plus did i mention that this is the first game in the sieries that playes online with a standard high - speed broad band connection? well u becha it does... setup for online takes only minutes... so it goes online, has basicly MAXI games, and an awsome adventure mode plot. i would endefinetly encourage you to buy this game......more info

- Sony and Insomniac have seen the light.
Insomniac Games. The creators of the Spyro the Dragon series and the little known game, "Disruptor". They have been little known for far too long. That all changed at the release of Ratchet and Clank. After a year, they released a sequel- Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. All of the time I owned these games, only one thing remained in the series: Multiplayer. That's one of the miraculous things this game has brought gamers everywhere. With both local (Split-screen on one TV) and online play, there was no limit to the experience gamers would receive. With a compelling storyline to save his galaxy from the evil Dr. Nefarious, Ratchet would use over 30 futuristic weapons and gadgets, along with his buddy, Clank, to keep the galaxy safe once again. I'd be impressed with this game even without multiplayer... well, as long as they made a bonus disc for it, or something... well, non-the-less, I recommend this game for anyone who's loved the series so far, Halo, or basically anyone who owns a PS2. If anything, this is one of the greatest console-selling games of all time. -This game review brought to you by Agent 001/7....more info

- Great Game!
I love this game. I got a ps2 for x-mas, and this game, and i've been addicted ever since. I even got so attached i went and bought Ratchet & Clank and Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. The controls sometimes got me confused because i was used to halo for the xbox but i got used to it. I just found out how to play it online and know its so much better. Not all weapons are available in online mode, but the ones they did put in made it fair and not to cheap(like it would have been if they added the rift inducer). Great game and i think everyone should play it.
- Must Buy
This, like the other Ratchet and Clank games, is a must buy. Great fun and great looking....more info
- Great Game, Shorter than "Commando"
Let me say as a married, 24 yr. old gamer, that I don't have allot of time to be a gamer anymore. I have responcibilities, a career, and a family, so when I actually get time to play games, I want to enjoy it.
R@C, has been uterly enjoyable! This game is one of those that you plan on playing for a few minutes, or maybe an hour, and you wind up playing for 3-4 hours without even realizing it!
The only kicker is that, this game had allot less content than "Commando". Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but it just seems that you can get everything in about a weekend of gaming. Its just not that hard, compared to "Commando".
Don't get me wrong, I can't wait till the next installment comes out, I just hope that the developers don't rush through it this time around.
4 out of 5 for the shortened content....more info
