Customer Reviews:

  • One of the best baby items I've ever bought!
I bought this crib tent out of desperation because my son was falling out of his crib at 22 months. We took him out thinking that maybe he was ready for a big boy bed, but as it turned out, he wasn't. The whole family was getting no sleep with him being out of his crib as he would cry every night, couldn't sleep by himself and climb out of the bed to wander the house in the dark. I found the Cozy Crib Tent through online research and it wielded amazing reviews. I ordered it and couldn't get it fast enough. I found the assembly just a tad difficult when inserting the poles that form the tent, but the rest of the process went smoothly. I was expecting my son to take a week or two to get use to the tent and being back in his crib again, but in the 1st night, he was literally "sleeping like a baby" again. It is seriously one of the best purchases I have ever made. This crib tent has saved me from nights of constant interrupted sleep and has saved my sanity (along with my husband's). I would recommend this item to anyone that needs a solution to keeping their baby in their crib before they are ready to come out. It's a miracle worker!!...more info
  • My Daughter is much safer now
I bought this product because my daughter started to climb out of her crib at night and I was afraid she might take a bad fall. She isn't mature enough to put in a regular bed. This was the perfect solution. She now stays inside her crib safely and I can get some sleep instead of laying awake listening to the baby monitor for fear she would try to climb out. The assembly was a little difficult. It takes some hand strength but I managed to do it myself after a little frustration. The frustration was worth it. We loved this product so much that my friend who has a son a year younger than my daughter has already called dibs on this product when we are done with it....more info
  • Its like camping
This seems to be a great product, it was reccomended by a friend. The only complication for us is that our crib has thick railing so I wasn't able to set it up the way the directions show. I needed to use extra velcro....more info
  • Good for the toddler, great for the parents.
My 17 month old loved to throw a leg up over over the side of his crib or chuck his pacifier on the floor in protest. He had never actually climbed out or fallen out, but I got sick of running in to check on him thinking that he might. Without all the attention from Mom, he sleeps much better. And he can find his own pacifier, since this contraption completely encloses the crib. I had no problem with it's assembly. The only drawbacks are: 1. The zipper is loud, so that takes some adjusting on the part of the toddler. 2. I had to remove all the attachable toys that he used to like to play with, which disappointed me at first, but I think it may be a contributor to his better sleeping habits. 3. Grandparents think I'm crazy, but I can stay in bed and not worry, so who cares....more info
  • Crib tent
I purchased the net before the birth of our first child. We have 2 cats and were unsure how they would respond to him and if they would jump in the crib. The product was very easy to install and to use. We can still change the sheets, dress Andrew, and basically use the crib as we normally would, without having to remove the netting each time. We are very happy with the netting and have recommended it to others. ...more info
  • Does not fit cribs with top rail higher or thicker than about 1"
Our crib has a top rail that is about 3.5" high and about 1" thick. The velcro loops that hold the crib tent securely to the top rail don't come anywhere near close enough to go around our top rail. It looks like the crib tent would only be secure on a crib with top rails about 1" high and 1" thick. ...more info
  • Much Better Option Than Moving To a Bed...
My son used to be the best sleeper. We could put him in the crib awake at night and he would put himself to sleep. Then, at 17 Months my son started climbing out of the crib (he is tall for his age). We decided to convert his crib right to a bed (with a rail) and try that. Big mistake. Every night he was getting up 2 or 3 times for hours at a time and wouldn't fall asleep unless we were there with him. Our doctor told us that he was very young to be in a bed and mentally he probably just wasn't ready for it.

After a few weeks, we decided to convert the bed BACK to a crib and use the Crib Tent II. Thank goodness for this. He is back to his normal sleeping patterns and stays asleep all night. It is true, the zipper is a little loud but it only took two nights for him to get used to it. If you hold the zipper in your hand so that your finger is underneath it, moving along with it, it is much more quiet. We are so happy about this tent and actually, my son likes to play in there sometimes. He asks to be put in there with toys. Maybe it feels like a little womb.

We are careful when zippering for fear that it will break due to the other comments made by parents and we have had no problems with breakage.

Also, our crib is bigger than a standard. The back is much higher than the front (since it is a convertible) and the sides are slightly longer with much heavier wood. We made it work without a problem.

We give this two thumbs up. We would give it more if we could....more info
  • A Must Have!!!
the tent gives me peace of mind!
the toddlers,(twins), love it, feel cozy in it!

a warning, only buy this item NEW!
went thru a couple that were supposed to be "like new" and paid for it.

wish they made this in a stronger material so that babies could not poke holes in it over time, but would buy it again in a heart beat.

have read that it is harder to change the crib sheets with the II, have not had any problems at all with it.

I would also recommend buying this BEFORE you may need it.
it keeps binkies, toys, arms, legs, etc. inside the crib.

  • This item was a blessing!!!!
Shortly after my son turned 2, he started climbing out of his crib. I tried putting him in a toddler bed, but he would never sleep. When he was supposed to be sleeping, he would be tearing up the entire room. He also shares a room, and in the middle of the night, he climbed out of the crib and woke up his sister! I was sure no one in the house was ever going to get a good night of rest again. All of that changed once I found the Cozy Crib Tent II. I was a little apprehensive how it would be secured in the crib, but yet not pose a choking hazard for my child. Rest assured, it is well constructed and safe. I did appreciate someone else writing a review that the Cozy Crib Tent II haS the zipper pull securely concealed, because he checked the seams when we put them in and if he would have had access to the zipper he would have gotten out! If you are having issues with your young child climbing out of his/her crib, BUY THIS ITEM TODAY!!!!...more info
  • Great idea - want better quality
Love the tent, hate the quality. The stitches have pulled through the fabric and now we have a 4 inch hole along the rod of the tent. The fabric is to thin & weak for how tight the material is pulled over the frame rods.

We have a Summer Infant color video monitor and although we can't see as well as we used to, I'm surprised how much we can see and it is plenty....more info
  • LIFESAVER!
When I woke up one morning to find my 2 year old trying to open a beer with a steak knife, I knew something had to be done. That and the fact that my daughter refused to go to sleep no matter how many times I put her back in her crib. After two months, we still had to put her back in her crib over and over again for an hour, about twice in the middle of each night. So we got this and our lives have been better ever since.

When fully zipped, the zipper is tucked away so that baby can't reach the zipper to unzip it.

after 6 months of use, it has two small holes in it (both in places she would never be able to get out of anyway). I had read a review saying the same thing before my purchase, and this does not bother me a bit because by the time the holes are a problem, we'll be ready to go without it anyway.

The zipper is very loud. I always put her to bed awake anyway, but I would never zip or unzip this tent with a sleeping baby in the room. Once I found her favorite lovey in the living room after she was asleep, and I couldn't give it to her because unzipping the tent would wake her up. (and putting it outside of the tent where she could see it would have been a true kind of cruelty....more info
  • Sanity Saver
My 17 month old began crawling out of her crib and would end up screaming crying on the nursery floor. I couldn't sleep or let her take naps in her crib. I was so scared that she would fall out! I searched local baby stores and the web looking for a solution. I found this crib tent and order it that day. I received it and it was easy to install. I had my hubby help and it took us literally 10 minutes to have it baby ready. You have to stretch the material a little to get the rods in place, but not a big deal. We've had it for two months now and it is holding up well. There are no rips, sangs or problems with the zipper. I am so pleased with this purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who has a toddler that climbs out of their cribs and are not ready for a "big kid" bed. ...more info

  • Crib Tent II
The crib tent is great but a little too small for our crib. We have a sleigh/regular crib. We could barely get the tent on. Once on it stopped our crib-jumping toddler. She hated it but it was exactly what we needed. The material snags really easily so make sure you have all the velcro covered. Zipper is really loud. Hope your baby is a deep sleeper. All-in-all it really was a life saver across the board....more info
  • Awesome! SAFE at Last!
This item is incredible. Yes, the zipper is loud, but it has given us peace of mind knowing that our son (21 months) cannot escape. We went through two weeks of fear when he found out how to climb out of his crib, open doors and get himself in a LOT of danger. WE found him countless "nights" at 2am getting into many dangerous things... and he is able to out-wit all the child safety locks we have...including ones that I have trouble opening!

Changing sheets was fine. For the price of a child's life (totally priceless!) it is the best $$$$ I have ever spent!!!!!

Also, it was recommended by my pediatrician to get a crib tent. (He is a father to six so I am sure he knows what he is talking about.)...more info
  • No more sleepless nights!
Our very active 22 month our son recently discovered how to climb in and out of his crib. He has always slept in his crib, and we weren't ready to make the transition into a toddler bed yet. We bought out Crib Tent on a whim at Babies R Us, however we were uncertain if he' d be content with it.
It literally took me (not my husband who is a heck of a lot mechanically inclined than me) 10 minutes to assemble and install. I was a little apprehensive about putting it together, based on others reviews. But trust me, it was easy.
We pumped our son up for it, and he thinks it's cool that he sleeps in a tent! He even begs for us to "zip up the window".
We're very happy with this product and we would recommend it to anyone who has their hands fun with a very active little dude like ours....more info
  • Serves the purpose for a while
We HAD to purchase something to keep our 11 month old son in his crib. He climbed out before he could walk! I was desperate after 2 nights of neither of us getting any sleep. I paid $90+ for this thing because the only place that had it in stock in my area was a high-end baby store. It lasted just over a year before the place where the zipper "hides" unravelled making it difficult to get the thing unzipped. And now there is a significant hole in the mesh where the mesh pulled away from the zipper. There was another hole where the non-mesh fabric pulled away from the zipper but I was able to sew that. There is just too much tension throughout the product for the low quality materials they used. I had hoped that this product would last until my son was ready for a toddler bed, which is just another few months. I don't want to spend another $80 but to keep my son sleeping safely through the night I guess I have to....more info
  • Works beautifully!
I have a toddler twins who LOVE to climb. At 15 months, one climbed out of his crib and fell hard on the floor. I couldn't imagine trying to keep them in toddler beds so I bought a pair of these tents. Their cribs are not the standard rectangular shape but we were able to install the tents in a functional way even if it's not exactly as pictured in the instructions.

They've made a couple of small holes biting and pulling at the mesh but the holes were easily repaired. We've had the same tents for almost a year now and they're holding up great. I was even able to wash the tents in the washing machine using a lingerie bag when they got dirty.

As a side bonus, the boys can no longer push their blankets out through the slats and drop them and they don't get their legs stuck. I only wish I'd bought the tents sooner.

I know some people don't like the zipper noise but my guys tune it out and they're pretty sensitive to other noises. The tents do make it more difficult to change sheets but I have light, foam crib mattresses and pulling them out of the crib to change the sheets isn't such a big deal. These issues are nothing at all compared to a trip to the ER for an x-ray and cast....more info
  • Works Great... Kind Of.
Overall it does what we expected; however, we had to modify the installation.
We decieded to purchase the crib for the typical reasons; keeping the animals out and our daughter in. In that compacity it does very well. It is sturdy and the material it is made of is strong enough to stand up to our daughters curious hands pulling up on it. The canopy sits high so our daughter has a hard time reaching up and pulling down on it; which was initially one of our concerns.
The only note of caution I have is that depending on the type of crib you have, it may not install perfectly. We have a sleigh style crib with a an arch on the back part. So the back of the crib sits a little higher and does not have the typical rails that this unit requires. It still works but because of the modifications I had to make, the crib area is a little smaller. ...more info
  • I needed a cage, not a crib--and I found it! Great product!
I have a 15-month old who is very tall, strong and loves to climb--it was only a matter of time before she hopped out of her crib and started exploring the house while we slept. I needed a cage, not a crib! This product is perfect. It's not really a cage; it's more like a tent--at bedtime, we say, "It's time to go camping." It is so well made--like it's part of the crib. From her first nap with it installed, she didn't mind or seem to notice it. It gives me so much peace of mind. I'm so glad to have it. Thank you to whoever invented it.

I like the Crib Tent II, which has netting all the way down the sides, because she can't throw all her junk out of the crib. However, you do have to remove your padded bumpers for it to fit right (it says you can use them, but it doesn't work as well). If you must keep your bumpers, get the Original Crib Tent, which is just a top--no sides....more info
  • Perfect to keep the little climbers in the the crib
Our 22 month old son figured out how to climb out of his crib, so we took the side rail off of the crib to create a toddler bed. Our daughter was in a twin bed at 22 months so we figured he was just ready and all would be fine. Well, it was not...he could not keep himself in the bed. He wandered at night and we would hear him downstairs calling for us at 2AM. Needless to say, we had to start locking his door to keep him in the room, so he just screamed and used every toy in his room as a battering ram until we went and got him. We ordered this item and eagerly waited for its arrival. It was relatively simple to install-took about 20 minutes. We showed him his new "tent" before his first nap that day using it and he played in the crib for a bit to get used to it. Several hours later we put him down for a nap, zipped it up, and he slept great and all has been well since. I haven't changed the crib sheets yet and it does appear that it may be a bit of a challenge, but it will be worth it b/c this product is great. We don't let him or his big sister "play" with the zipper b/c if it gets damaged then we are in trouble, but he does still play pretty hard in the crib and the mesh has held up just fine. I would highly recommend it. Best money I have spent in a while!!!...more info

  • Didn't work with our IKEA crib
The tent is a great idea, and fairly easy to set up, though I wish it were a bit simpler: the straps that hold it in place are a little unwieldy. However, we had to return the tent because it was too short for our Ikea crib, which I believe is a standard size. Also, because you have to put the tent on before you insert the mattress, we learned that our very firm mattress was too stiff to be bent to fit through the tent opening.

So, my advice is that this is a good tent, but before you order it, make sure the dimensions of your crib will accomodate the tent....more info
  • Great while it functions properly- which isn't long!
Hi, We purchased this in November of '08 to keep our 2 year old daughter from climbing out of her crib. I found it easy to assemble and it certainly did the job of keeping our daughter inside. However, after a week of use the zipper was continuously stuck and hard to maneuver. I returned the product and received another one at the end of January '09. Here we are at the end of May '09, 4 months later, and the zipper is broken again! I called to return this one too, but alas! the warranty is ONLY GOOD FOR 60 DAYS! There are other reviews on here about the faulty zipper- please be forewarned! This product needs an overhaul and their limited 60 day warranty should have been a red flag....more info
  • On our SECOND One..but now unhappy. My kid is stuck inside!
So, we bought this for our son who kept crawling out of his crib. It worked beautifully and he FINALLY started sleeping through the night. But as time went on and he leaned on the netting, it began to open up a hole to where he could throw his blankets out of it.

So, I decided to throw that one away and buy another one. Another $70 later I had a new tent!

Last night, I went to unzip the tent to give my little one a kiss goodnight and the zipper stuck. It stuck so bad that my husband couldn't undo it even with pliars to where eventually the zipper completely broke off. NOW my son is really stuck inside and the only thing we can do is cut the net open.

I am really bummed that $70 just went down the drain. Although I only bought it a month ago, I threw the receipt away never figuring I would have a problem.

Now, I am not sure what to do or if I want to trust buying another one.

    :(...more info
