Customer Reviews:

  • I love the sense of security
We used this product with our first daughter and loved the security it gave us. We did occassionally have a few false alarms, but overall we were very happy with it. We just purchased this product again for our newborn. We are still using the first monitor with our daughter for sound only. We tried several other sound monitors and had a lot more interference (including digital). With this monitor we don't typically have much interference and can sleep soundly!...more info
  • Excellent product - good for peace of mind & sleep!
We got this after our premie son went of his apnea/heart monitor, mainly for peace of mind for me. It is very much worth the money! I would not trade the comfort of knowing he is safe and okay while he's sleeping for anything. This has really made it easy to sleep at night knowing that if something happens, we will know! Our son is now 8 months old and I still have it on every night and we don't get any false alarms (have to be sure the sensor is set correctly and to the right level) even when he's rolling around his crib....more info
  • Must have for all families
Our child spent her first 21 days in the hospital with monitors on her so I was very nervous when she came home that I would not know if and when she stopped breathing. This gave me peace of mind and thank god the only time it sounded was when I forgot to turn it off when I picked her up to feed her. ...more info
  • A must have for new parents
I love, love, love this product! I am such a nervous first-time mom and this monitor has helped me relax a little bit. I bought this when my son was 7 weeks old and at that time I couldn't bear to put him to sleep without me constantly staring at him to make sure he was still breathing. After I set up the monitor and checked it to make sure it was working, I put him to bed and I finally got myself some sleep!! I'm constantly reassured that it is working because sometimes in the middle of the night, I take him out to nurse him and forget to turn the monitor off and within 15 seconds it makes it's first warning beep. I had already had a video monitoring system, but you can't always see the breathing movements with that, so this has really given me some piece of mind. My son is now 6 months old and I still use it for every nap and at night. I even pack it up and take it with me when we visit the grandparents. I've never had a false alarm and I regularly check it to make sure that it will alarm. The ceiling fan is the only thing that causes the monitor to sense "movement" but only if the fan is on the high setting, so I never turn the fan up that high. I just can't imagine anyone NOT wanting this monitor!!...more info
  • Preemie Must Have
This was given to us as a gift and has helped us have many nights of sleep. Out son was 8 weeks early and spent 4 weeks in the hospital hooked to monitors. When we were able to bring him home this product helped me sleep better, knowing that it would sound if something went wrong. We only had a few false alarms and that was after we moved him in to his crib, with the inclined sleep positioner, and the crib mattress. My son was to light weight for it to sense him so it would alarm. But once he weighed more it has worked amazingly well, no alarms!!!! Just knowing that it is there helps me sleep every night!!!...more info
  • Great Monitor - Source of Wireless Network Interference
We received this monitor as a gift from a seasoned veteran. As new parents, this unit helped ease some of our fears. I did find recently that this unit was the source of interference with the wireless network in our home. It seems to operate in the same frequency as Wireless-G networks, as it did not affect our computer with a Wireless-N card....more info
  • don't get swept up in the "sensor" - it's a crappy monitor
While the sensor is a great feature and certainly offers peace of mind (which is why we got it), the actual monitoring leaves much to be desired. The monitor is very prone to interference, has terrible range and constantly "hisses".. there is no sound-activated feature where it's muted while there is no or almost no noise. This is particularly annoying at night. The build quality is also pretty bad. One of our transmitters fell about 3 feet and broke immediately.

  • Saved my sons life
My son was 4 days old when he stopped breathing. My husband did CPR on him and saved his life. He was then admitted into the the hospital for several days. The doctors classified it as "near-miss SIDS". This monitor can save lives! It's an investment worth making!!! LOVE IT!!!!!...more info
  • A must have!
I absolutely love this monitor. I had chosen and purchased a different brand monitor when I first started looking for items when I was expecting. I read about the Angelcare monitor about two weeks before my baby was due, ordered it, and decided to give it a try (still keeping the first monitor I'd bought in case this one wasn't for me.) Guess what? The other monitor went back to the store unopened. The Angelcare monitor does everything it says it will do. We used it first in the bassinet, then moved it to the crib when my son started scooting himself around too much in the bassinet. Did I mention my son is a scooter? Yes, he is. The alarm has gone off once, when he scooted himself to the far end of the crib and I thank God that is the only reason it has gone off for us. The only other time it has gone off is when we've taken the baby out of his crib and forgotten to turn the main unit off. One thing to keep in mind is not to have a ceiling fan going right above the crib as the sensor will detect it as movement even if the baby is not in the crib. That is how sensitive the sensor is. It works great and allows me to sleep at night without having to keep one ear awake for peace of mind....more info

  • Provides PEACE of MIND ... ALARM SOUNDS if baby stops breathing/moving.
I LOVE the MOVEMENT SENSOR aspect of this monitor. I have used 2 of these (one in the crib for nighttime sleeping and one in the playpen for daytime naps) and they work GREAT at detecting when there is no movement/breathing. I used these with both my kids, up until they were both 2 years old and moved to big boy beds.

I only have two complaints. One is that I wish they would improve the monitors so that there is less interference/static, and more channels. With these monitors, you get lots of feedback and can even pick-up neighbors' babies (if they are using similar monitors). This means that the neighbors can also hear you and your baby. In fact, I always used Channel B because I kept picking up neighbors' babies on Channel A. My second complaint is I wish they would make the sensor that goes under the mattress bigger so that it covers more of the sleep area to prevent false alarms.

My workaround solution is that I also own 2 other monitors ... one with video and one with a greater frequency and less static (that I used in conjunction with this one) and carry around the house.

This monitor allowed me to get much needed rest and things done around the house without having to check the baby every 2 minutes to make sure he was still breathing. I wish more manufacturers would add the movement detection feature to their monitors.

Despite some of this monitor's shortcomings, I still HIGHLY recommend it. Worth EVERY penny for that piece of mind. If you buy more than one set, the monitors are interchangeable and work together nicely. In addition, it is small and easy to carry along with you when you travel. So, you can use it on vacations or when you are away from home, to monitor your baby for added peace of mind.

**PLEASE NOTE: You will need MASONITE BOARD, or some other hard board to place under the crib mattress for the movement sensor to sit on. With the playpen (because it had a hard bottom), I didn't need to use anything. I could just place the movement sensor directly under the pad.** ...more info
  • I have peace of mind!!!!
This product is wonderful-I have peace of mind...When I had my 16 and 10yr old this product was not an option for me...So I basically hovered over them all night-now with this monitor I get some much needed rest......more info
  • Excellent product
This is a great product. My wife and I sleep much more soundly at night knowing that our baby is being monitored by this product while she sleeps. I've had the monitor about 5 months and only two times a false alarm has sounded. This occurred because she was not in the center of the bed and was breathing lightly at the same time. To me this is no big deal to check up on her. I prefer the machine to err on the side of caution than to confuse vibrations in the house as baby movements. Well worth the money....more info

  • Sleep w/ ease (excepting the false alarms!)
Our neighbor lent us his Angelcare Sensor when we brought our baby home, and let me tell you, I was such a nervous 1st time parent, I wouldn't have been able to sleep without it! We use the No-tic motion sensor, & while our baby was in his bassinet, it was great! We moved him to the crib, though, & have had two false alarms. Keep watch on your baby's sleeping patterns for a little while after you move them to the crib, because ours is a "scooter", moves himself out of his no-roll brace to the head of the crib, which caused himself to move out of the sensor's range twice, setting off the alarm (SLEEPLESS NIGHT!!!) After we readjusted it under the mattress, all was well, and we could sleep with peace of mind once again. This is a MUST for all parents!...more info
