Customer Reviews:

  • Beautiful and durable
Works like a charm if taken care of properly. Great product I hope to have to cook dinner for my grandchildren 30 years from now!...more info
  • Pretty Pan
This 1-1/2 quart saucepan is a delight to use and even looks good on my stove. I have used it for rice and for cheese sauce. It perfect for these things and works fine with a lower flame than other pans I have.

  • Agree with Everyone Else, These are Great
I purchased 4 of these pots in various sizes and agree they are fabulous. I have used them now for about 6 months and still love them. Fabulous value but high, high quality! Easy to clean and love that they can go from stove into the oven! You will not be disappointed!...more info
  • Product Gets Rust Stains
We are disappointed in this product. We purchased a set of these. We have only had the pots for a few months and two of them, the 3 quart one, and the larger 8 quart one, both have gotten MULTIPLE SMALL CIRCULAR RUST STAINS all over the bottom (inside where the food is cooked). I have tried to scrub these rust stains off, and they don't respond to cleaning. ...more info
  • As always, Cuisinart delivers
I have purchased almost the entire Cuisinart classic line, and purchased this saucepan for my daughter. As the pieces come on sale, I add to her collection, and mine if I don't already own it.
These products cook evenly and clean up the easiest of any cookware I have ever owned. Manufacturer instructions say you can put them in the dishwasher, but I prefer to wash them by hand which is a breeze. The exterior shine has stayed stellar in spite of repeatedly use and washings. I also own some pieces of a much more expensive stainless cookware set (ends with "clad").... and I find the Cuisinart to be as good in the cooking of food, and actually much better in the clean-up of the pot/pan.
I highly recommend this product....more info
  • A Very Nice Pan with Two MINOR Flaws
This is a very nice pan, beautifully finished. It heats very evenly and quite quickly. It is perfectly flat on my glass stove top. The $14.00 I paid certainly makes this pan a best buy. It replaces a Faberware pan that worked perfectly for 26 years but then warped severely in its its 27th year of useage.

My two concerns with this pan are the edges on the pan and how light the lid is. The edges on this pan fall somewhere between being sharp and dull. I can see the potential that they might cut into a dishwasher rack over time. One reviewer gave a very negative review based on this fact but I view this review as being somewhat exaggerated. The top of this pan is very light and liquids which are boiling easily push it upward.

This pan is a great value at the $14.00 I paid and you'd have to evaluate other pans at that price to determine which is best. If this pan had the smoothed rolled edge of my 27 year old Faberware and a heavier top I'd give it 5 stars.

Since Amazon deletes reviews which discuss "price" I'll be far less inclined to publish any more reviews at Amazon in the future. Amazon just deleted one of my top rated reviews (100% positively rated and, by a very wide margain, the most popular review of a particular product) because I mentioned price and Amazon's past discounts.

  • Beautiful Little Pan
This highly polished stainless steel saucepan is a beauty. It heats quickly and evenly with low to medium heat. The lid fits tightly. I was expecting cleanup to be a little challenging after using non-stick cookware for a long time. But to my delight, it was a breeze. Now, I am not concerned about any toxic chemical fumes while cooking, and no pieces of unwanted metals in my food....more info
  • Excellent value and quality
This saucepan is the perfect complement to my Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Medium Dome Cover, when I am cooking a chicken or steak in the large pan (or my trusty 12" cast iron pan), I am usually making a sauce or boiling vegetables in this not-so-small saucepan. It is a truly versatile pan, I have used it to boil a few eggs, steam vegetables, melt chocolate, warm up left-over soup, make masala chai (it's easier than most people think and VERY tasty), or even bake a small cake in it! I can't possibly list them all, this is my second most used pan, a close second to my Lodge Logic 12" cast iron pan.

Don't be fooled by the price tag, this may be a cheap pan, but it is certainly not cheaply made. Handle is sturdy, and the lid fits tight, and it will stand up to 450 degrees of heat in the oven (from the manual, although I never pushed it to that extreme heat). It has a rather heavy bottom for heat retention, which is exactly what I want.

This is also a perfect pan for making a little one-person meal. I am a little embarrassed to admit, but I've made ramen noodles in this pan on some late nights.

Beginner or seasoned home cooks alike, I am sure you'll find this pan to be an excellent investment for your money.

    Pros:
    =====
    - Well made
    - Versatile (from sauce to dessert to tea making to a small lasagna)
    - Well priced
    - Can be nuked in the oven up to 450 degrees

    Cons:
    =====
    - Stainless steel needs a little more care than non-stick cookware, and may colorize over time... but that's really just a general stainless steel cookware issue...more info

  • Helped improve my cooking!
I have used my saucepan many times since it was received and I feel like a TV chef, swishing the ingredients around and cooking them so easily - it's a great pan! The handle is comfortable to hold and the cover keeps the heat in, but remains cool to handle. ...more info
  • Wonderful saucepan
I purchased this saucepan 4 months ago, and it's been a rare day since then that it hasn't been used. It's a great, easy size when cooking a sauce, or veggies for two, among many, many other things! It holds heat so well and cooks perfectly even. Plus it's a beautiful, shiny pan - even after so much use. The inside bottom does have some surface scratches from my whisk :) but it doesn't affect its functionality in any way. After having owned this pan, I would gladly purchase it again, even at its full retail price -- it's worth it. But fortunately I doubt I'll have to as I'm sure this one will last me a lifetime! ...more info
  • No product!
I never did receive the pan. Macy's sent a number of automated responses to my inquiries. Finally, they agreed to resend it, but I still don't have either a pan or my credit....more info
  • Better than my non stick pans
I'm really glad to have replaced my non-stick with the Cuisinart pans. I have been increasingly concerned about the safety of non-stick. I was really scared that they would stick and I would have to scrub them, but they've been really good so far. I'm not crazy about the hazy look that the bottoms get inside, but I know it's because I cook on med-high heat and I need to get some Barkeeper's friend. Overall, really pleased with this purchase, and I'm still adding to my set....more info
  • Perfect little pan
I have a larger pan from this "family" and I love them both. I wait for them to go on super-sale, then snatch them up one at a time. Great heat distribution, looks fabulous. I don't put these in the dishwasher, so maybe that's why they shine so brilliantly. Anyway, I love them both....more info
  • Very low quality steel
I liked the look of these pots. I bought several 2 and 3qt pots mainly for boiling water for pasta, potatoes etc. The stainless steel used is very poor quality.

After just over a month all of them have rust spots on the bottoms and where the handles meet the pot. After the first use I noticed small discolored spots on the inside bottoms, not your typical discoloration from heat, and they would not polish out with bar keepers friend. These spots are now where I see rust forming after each use. These are definitly no where near the quality of my all-clad and calphalon stainless steel cookware, but then again neither is the price.

All said I wouldn't buy them again. Even cheap stainless steel pots and pans shouldn't rust with normal use. Even the free Cuisinart Santoku Knife I received is rusting and I've only used it 3 times. I cannot stress how bad the steel is!

As far as cooking goes, they work great. The aluminum core bottoms conduct the heat well. They also have a great look aside from the rusting....more info
  • CUISINART 1 1/2 QT. SAUCEPAN W/COVER ! GREAT

  • What a great sauce pan
This is the best cooking sauce pan I have ever used. It heats evenly and has a lid that closes tightly, definitely worth the money. If you are looking for quality, you will find it with this product, don't waste your money on other cookware when you can have the best....more info
  • substantial weight and hefty
I gave this as a Christmas gift to my husband. I thought it was a good price and he really enjoyed it ( he likes to cook). I have purchased other Cuisinart itmes over the years and I find they cook evenly and clean up in a snap. I would recommend this pan to others..for the price alone it is a good deal !...more info
  • High quality!
I love Amazon's amazing deals on some of these stuff. This saucepan is very well made, and it's extremely useful for someone who usually cooks for one. Now I don't use anything else. It's perfect for boiling pasta (for one person), heating one can of soup, heating pasta sauce, etc. My only complaint is that the bottom of the pan got all blotchy and multicolored after the first use. Maybe it was my crappy electric range, I don't know. It's too bad that beautiful, even silver finish didn't last for long....more info
  • Great quality, great price
I already have a set of this cookware and I am very pleased with its performance. The quality is excellent and is comparable to those brands costing much more....more info
  • Cookware lives up to expectations
Needed some replacements for a couple of aging non-stick pans, and decided to give some higher quality stainless a try. I bought the 3-quart and 1.5 quart Chef's Classics through Amazon at the same time, prompted by favorable reviews I'd read online.

I'd tried stainless in the past, but it was bargain priced stuff and performed similar to its price. When the product arrived I was impressed with the heft of the pans and their very nice appearance. Cooking with them has been a pleasure, but it is necessary to reduce the temperature levels on the range. My range is electric, and I find it works best to start the pan out on high for a couple of minutes to get the heavy bottom material heated, and then reduce to a little under or over medium for most the regular cooking/sauteing cycle.

As noted before, the pans have a very nice finish, but certain cooking tasks do leave spots and stains - nothing to effect performance, but a little unsightly. These clean up easily with a dab of stainless cleaner I'd purchased for cleaning stainless steel sinks. I'd purchased this cleaned at one of the home improvement stores. A small bottle would probably last for years.

As someone else noted, the pans to have some rather industrial strength rivets attaching the handles on the pan and the lids. Guess they could be spots where grime and grease could accumulate after extended use, but as yet have not found that to be a problem....more info
  • Excellent Addition
The new set of Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless cookware I purchased did not have a 4-quart saucepan in it. It is one of my favorite sizes, so I purchased this to add to my set. It's well-built, the handle stays cool, heats evenly and quickly, and so far I have been able to keep it clean and polished with a non-abrasive cleanser. I like to make popcorn the old-fashioned way in this pan, and even the slightly cooked-on oil cleans up well.

I'm not sure why the picture for this item currently shows a black interior, as all surfaces are polished stainless steel. ...more info

  • Best cookwear I've ever owned!
I've purchased a number of types of cookwear over the years, but none have compared to Cuisinart's Chef's Classic line. I own almost the entire line, and am very satisfied with the way food cooks in this cookwear. I'm even more impressed with the easy clean-up of this finish. I don't put it in the dishwasher, even though the manufacturer states it can be cleaned that way. For the price, these products are top of the line. I've also purchased 6 pieces of this cookware for my daughter. I highly recommend this product....more info
  • Mfg price is phony
Good pot, but Amazon is inflating manufacturer's price. This pot goes for $69.95 on Cuisinart site. So Amazon is nocking off $10, but is attempting to lead one to believe it is even more! Shame Amazon!...more info
  • Excellent!
Best cookware I've ever owned. Cooks evenly and easy clean-up, finish stays factory bright. I wash it by hand though, so can't say if it stays factory pristine if you put it in the dishwasher, even though the manufacturer states you can. Highly recommend this cookware line....more info
  • Beware of saucepan rim
This is excellent cookware, but please be careful when washing by hand because the rim is very very sharp and may cut you....more info
