All-Clad's highly polished stainless steel interior and pure aluminum core doesn't react with acidic foods, heats quickly and is energy efficient. This indispensable tool will help you prepare sauces, veggies, and reheat soup or stew.
The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between layers of stainless steel is a thick core of pure aluminum that spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The interior is highly polished 18/10 stainless steel, so it's stick-resistant as well as stain- and corrosion-resistant. The exterior is made of gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops, and, with care, remains beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond.
This classic, straight-sided 2-quart saucepan makes clear why All-Clad's Stainless line is so popular. Because the aluminum core extends up the sides, foods cook uniformly in the pan, even though it's 4-1/4 inches deep. And because the interior is nonreactive, the taste of tomato-based pasta sauces and other acidic foods won't be metallic. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel pan and lid handles are riveted for strength and grooved on the top for comfort. The long handle (holed for hanging on a hook or peg) stays cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

All-Clad Stainless Construction
Each piece of All-Clad cookware features a unique metal bonding construction. All-Clad Stainless cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless-steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless-steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless-steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish. All-Clad Stainless also features the company¡¯s signature "stay-cool" long handles, lids fashioned from gleaming 18/10 stainless steel, and highly durable stainless-steel rivets. All-Clad Stainless cookware is one of five collections from All-Clad Metalcrafters. Designed to work on conventional gas and electric ranges, as well as induction cooktops, All-Clad Stainless cookware is the best-selling collection in a full line that includes All-Clad LTD, Cop-R-Chef, Master Chef 2, and Copper Core.
Features and Benefits
All-Clad pans with a stainless interior cooking surface are oven-safe up to 500 degrees. All-Clad pans with a non-stick cooking surface are oven-safe up to 400 degrees, but should not be used under the broiler. We recommend using a low to medium temperature when cooking with All-Clad. Higher heats are not necessary and may cause discoloration (see cleaning instructions below). Other features include:
- Beautifully polished, magnetic stainless exterior layer.
- Pure aluminum core that not only covers the bottom of the pan but also extends up the sides. This allows for great heat conductivity as well as an even heat distribution so you won¡¯t have "hot spots" when cooking.
- Stainless-steel interior layer/cooking surface.
- Long, polished stainless, stay-cool handles.
- Sturdy, non-corrosive stainless-steel rivets won't react with foods.
- Polished stainless-steel lids fit evenly with the pan¡¯s edges to seal in flavor of your foods.
- The All-Clad Stainless collection is compatible with an induction stovetop (with the exception of a few pieces) in addition to gas and electric stovetops.
- The Stainless collection is dishwasher-safe, excluding pieces with a nonstick cooking surface.
From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.
For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is sufficient. Clean your All-Clad thoroughly after each use. Food films left of the pan may cause discoloration and sticking. To get rid of stuck-on food or discoloration and stains from using too high of a heat, we recommend cleaning your All-Clad with a product called Bar Keeper¡¯s Friend. To use the Bar Keeper¡¯s Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keeper¡¯s Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keeper¡¯s Friend to remove it.

I have had this pan for a bit over 6 months and saw nothing outstanding in it compared to the other All-Clad products that I have (I love all of them). But then my teenaged children where released to summer vacation. I came home from work to find them watching a movie and as I passed the kitchen I noticed a spot of warmth. Thinking this was odd I asked if anyone was cooking something. My oldest jumped off the couch with the agility that only a panicked teenager could have and ran into the kitchen. I followed close behind to find my 2 quart sauce pan on the 12,000 BTU burner, on high no less... With nothing in it.
It turns out that an hour before my son had put on a quart of water to boil and forgot about it. The pan was HOT. There was carbon marks all on the inside of the pan, none on the out side though. I just turned off the burner and told everyone not to touch it for an hour.
I suspected that the pan was ruined, but it was not. No delamination, no deforming, just some discoloration and carbon marks. A small amount of Bar Keepers Friend? Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a lot of elbow grease and the pan looked like it just came out of the box.
Though I would not make this your first All-Clad purchase, I would highly recommend this saucepan. It has the quality, finish and control you would expect from an All-Clad product. It may seem a bit narrow and tall at first but, as other reviewers have mentioned, that allows it to minimize reduction and creates a moist steam filled area in the upper portion of the saucepan.
For a more versatile pan I would recommend the All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucier Pan, but I would not be with out this sauce pan in my collection....more info
- Perfect saucepan
This pot is the perfect shape for small jobs. The depth keeps contents from bubbling over, and of course it has the expected All-Clad quality....more info
- Over priced - bad warranty
I can't believe the price of a 3 qt. sauce pan! It's not worth it. And the warranty is horrible. There are a lot nicer pans out there for this kind of money....more info
- Speaks for itself
What needs to be said about an All-Clad product other than they are one of the best on the market? This is a nice weighty piece that conducts heat evenly. A great addition to my other pieces. Highly recommend....more info
- Hot to Dine
4th degree burns can be suffered when handling this metallic brim stoke pot, which doesn't have cool iron density retraction at the handle. You are better getting a cool wave disperse model which Maytag sells, but if you use a Calco hand glove, this is just as good....more info
- Great Cookware
This is a heavy duty item. It distributes heat evenly and it is very attractive. I have a full set and bought this piece for my daughter. I would highly recommend it although it is a bit pricey. It should last forever if given proper care....more info
- 4 Quart Review here
This is my "workhorse pot". I use it for about everything. From soups to steaming to boiling. It does it all.
I think the "buyer beware" advice is simple:
If you aren't strong, get the "loop-handle" one instead, which adds a small helper handle on the other side of the saucepan. The 4 quart does get very heavy and difficult to carry with one hand when more than 3/4 is filled with liquid.
If I were to buy this again, I would have bought the helper handle instead. I'm a pretty big guy, and found the unstable nature of the pan when it's filled with boiling water and pasta a bit disconcerting at times.
But it's a strong, sturdy pan, that I have owned for 18 months and many times a week. Dishwasher safe, and easy to clean by hand....more info
I'm glad I made this purchase. It is a great pan to own especially if you aren't cooking a big meal. Amazon is the only place I could find this pan! I own alot of All-Clad pots and pans and I love this one!...more info
- one and a half quart sauce pan-all clad
very nice pan as all of the All-Clad line are. The price was about half of what the one quart pan was. I am very happy. ...more info
- pretty good
The size of this pan is great for a lot of uses. I am disappointed in the wall thickness though. The wall on this pan is thinner than the 1 qt I bought a couple of years ago....more info
Like all other All-Clad, superb pan and the 'refurb' model offers a great savings - fast, free shipping from Amazon!...more info
- Falling in love has never been so easy
I just received this 2 quart saucepan and I'm very content with it. I have the 3.5 and 1.5 quart but needed a small pot for soups and light sauce making. It's ideal for quick soups and heating up leftovers. Because of the high sides it keeps food very warm long after you turn the heat off. It comes with a lid which was very nice as my 1.5 quart didn't come with one. You will not be dissapointed with the quality and paces you can put it through. Flawless work horse! The handle is a decent long length so you don't have to reach over the stovetop to get it off. Remember to pick up some barkeepers friend to keep it looking brand new for life!...more info
