Product Description

Recalling the uplifting New Age chorals of Adiemus and Enigma, Libera fuses the high, innocent voices of 11 and 12-year-old boys with contemporary beats amidst lush synth and orchestral accents. The result is a mesmerizing collection of original choral material written by self-proclaimed "organ nerd" and keyboardist Robert Prizeman. Prizeman, drawing from his background in church music, expertly weaves the choir's bright, sacred tones into the fabric of his modern spiritual vision, which brings the sanctity of London abbeys to mind. At times the album wanders into deeply mystical territory, with the boys' solos bouncing up and down the scale in a soft melancholy, which nicely contrasts with the power of their joined voices. Though not extensively trained, the choir does an expert job with Prizeman's compositions. The one aspect of this CD that may frustrate listeners is the lack of comprehensive credits and information on the artists in the CD booklet. Otherwise, Libera is a pleasantly sublime work of New Age art. --Karen K. Hugg

  • Astounding!
I was absolutely floored by this CD!

I had heard good things about Angel Voices, and decided to see what I could find out on the web. When I came across an Angel Voices website online, it also suggested this CD. I ordered it from a little music store in the UK, not realizing I could've gotten it from Amazon -- and when it arrived, I couldn't stop playing it!

One of the tracks, for some reason, reminds me of the theme song from NeverEnding Story movie (it's nothing like it musically, but it gives me the same sensation, that mystical sensation of a forever future), something I never hear, and when I do, chills go up my spine, and I'm floored. Any other music that is like it, I'd like to know!...more info

  • An extraordinary debut album....
A debut album of extraordinary artistry which stands the test of time and sounds as wonderful today as it did upon it's release.
Listen to the hauntingly beautiful and quite emotional 'Mysterium', be moved by 'Angelis' and the joyous, uplifting 'Sanctus'.
A more conventional album may have one or two 'hits' on it; this one is absolutely bursting with stunning music throughout.
If you get chance to see these boys in concert, go. It is a once in a lifetime event. You will never be the same again.

  • FIVE HIGH-FLYING ANGEL STARS!!!
The boys' voices of angels and the rythmic bounce of new-age brings together a sound I had been searching for! Unlike some boys' choir music, this CD flows, pounds and changes rythum more often then most. And the track "Sanctus" based on Pachelbel's Canon...well you can just imagine yourself how 12 year-old voices can bring that tune to life!...more info
  • Wonderful to relax to
If you would like a CD to relax to this is it. It's a wonderful mix of choral music mixed with modern instruments. I use this cd at work to remind me to relax when the day gets hectic. The singers are obviously well trained and a delight to listen to....more info
  • Outstanding !!!
This is music that goes directly to your heart. It coocoons your soul with dramatic effects in your mood: from pure magnifiscent joy to some sort of deep nostalgia. Since I found this record by myself, I had -for an instant- the wish to keep this jewel out of the reach of others. Disregard a few "Enigma" style songs (drum machines, synth basses,etc.). You will start browsing everywhere to find more of Prizeman (composer) and the singers. You'll definitely love it....more info
  • Wow!
This is one of the best new age/classical albums I've heard yet! The boys' voices are superb, the pieces fit their skills perfectly, and the quality of the album itself is first rate. This CD - along with the group's newest album, called "Luminosa" - will certainly be staying in my CD player for quite a while.

The opening track, "Salva Me", is one of my favourites. All the pieces paint soundscapes unlike those most of us have heard before. It's great music for relaxing. I am eagerly awaiting new offerings from Robert Prizeman and his talented choir!...more info

  • Libera
I like classical music such as Handel and Beethoven. When I got this as a gift I didn't know if I would like it that much. But the first time I listened to it I was entranced. Now I listen to it while studying or just in my free time, I find it very relaxing....more info

  • Haunting, Beautiful!!!
I first discovered Libera about a month ago and I feel like I'm rediscovering them everytime I listen to their music!!! Their voices are absolutely breath-taking and this CD really brings out the range they have! I don't think I've ever owned a CD where I like every single song! I'm not a classical person...but this CD is amazing!!!! Each of the songs reaches out and grabs me in a different way. Each one is haunting and beautiful in its own way...I could listen to it over and over again!!!!!...more info
