  • A Great Starting point!
I am one of the masses that received no financial education in school. I am currently going for my MBA and Robert T. Kiyosake has helped me understand "money" more than any class so far. The value goes beyond the read, and is something you will carry with you through all of your major decisions. ...more info

  • Very little meat on this book
I found very little meat in this book. I agree with other reviewers that the valuable information could have been presented in a few pages.

This is the second Kiyosaki book I read. The first Kiyosaki book I read, Real Estate Riches: How to Become Rich Using Your Banker's Money, was much more informative....more info
  • The thought process behind successful people
I became very excited after reading Increase Your Financial IQ on an eight hour plane trip. We were closing on a 229 unit apartment at the time of the reading. I purchased 22 books, one for each of my investors. Robert explains in an easy-to-read and understandable style the importance of hedging your portfolio in to real estate and the concept of leverage. Two thumbs up. I give this book my highest recommendation....more info

  • Best Kiyosaki Book Yet
I have to say, I've listened to quite a few audio books and read a few books by Robert Kiyosaki. I have to say I was very impressed with this one. I really think this one does a really good job at getting you to see things a different way. I especially like how he talks about expanding your means (as he has in the past) but this time he actually goes in and shows you how he would budget for a surplus and you get to actually see exactly what he means. He has more specific examples, rather than just the concepts and ideas by themeseleves.
He explains why and how he's both a capitalist and a socialist, and he clearly explains why you can't simply blame one side of the political spectrum, and gives examples of things that both republican and democratic presidents have done which ends up hurting those who save.
I think that if you were to read one Robert Kiyosaki book, this would be the one, it seems like he really put everything he's ever taught together in a way that really makes a lot of sense. Why savers lose, the increase of the money supply, the need for financial education, why most politicians don't know how to handle money, why most businessmen do the very wrong thing and cut spending on advertising during a reccession, when they should be looking to expand their means, all about your brain and how you learn best, and what to do about it and a whole lot more.

It was also interesting to see him forcast before this book was completely released in March, that we most likely have just reached the edge of the storm, and things could get a lot worse. October clearly may have been a significant part. Kiyosaki has been right on about a lot of things.

Going into debt isn't bad, in fact, it can be very good if you know completely what you are doing. However, as they say "a litle knowledge is dangerous" Don't stop at just this book, but make a plan, simulate the real thing and then start small and take the right managable calculated risks, and you can build wealth and get rich.

I believe that this book will dramatically shorten the learning process, and may save you a lot of valuable time and money that you would have paid through learning from the mistakes that you would otherwize made....more info
  • It gets better and better...
I've read many books from Kiyosaki and I never get bored. It's amzing how he explains the matters of money, and how easy it sounds. I'm looking forward for his next book....more info
  • A "Rich Dad Poor Dad" & "Rich Dad's Guide To Investing" Sandwich!
I read this book last Saturday at the bookstore. It took me about 2.5 hours to knock it out. Honestly, much of it is just RDPD stuff repeated with some Rich Dad's Guide To Investing thrown on top for flavor.
Still, it's necessary to go back to the basics one and a while. Robert has always been a good story teller. You'll get the same stories out of this book but with more details.
Robert also covers a little current events for us in relation to the weakness of the dollar and the price of oil. I have to honestly say I would probably never understand the economics of it all unless Robert was there to dumb it down for me a bit.
A reviewer made a comment about how Robert will write a book to pay for a liabilty...O.K. What's wrong with that? Developing an asset is what his business is about. I think people just get mad when he divulges parts of his operation they'd rather not know about.
If you're looking for some meat and potatoes on how to actually make money in real estate though...check out David Lindahl's books. ...more info

  • Marc J. Ellison
This was an excellent book. The book has taught me a lot about the true state of the Union. Robert tells you what the main stream media and the government will not admit. Both the Democrates and the Republican party have really messed things up for you and I, in this beloved country of ours. From reading Robert's book you would get the idea that the "Central Banks" both foreign and domestic are running our puppet government. The average citizen has been sold out by the rich and the greedy. God bless and protect us from the storms both now and yet to come!...more info
  • A bit of humility wouldn't hurt
Good Grief. This gentleman and Donald Trump are meant for one another.

You can be correct and nauseating at the same time Mr. Kiyosaki. Get over yourself and burn your Tony Robbins tapes so people can relate. Then both your Rich Dad and Poor Dad will be proud of you.

This is the first kiyosaki's book I read and it revolutionized my idea about money. I wish I could have read it 7 years ago before I finished my ph.D in Biochemistry. I wanted to be an entrepreneur for many years but it's the thought that wanting to be safe and getting a secure job keeping me from it... Now I am thinking about getting a MBA. I highly recommend this book to anyone wants to know some truth about money and even life!! If you have not read any other kiyosaki's books, I think this is the one you should start with but not "rich dad poor dad". This book contains most of the ideas from "rich dad poor dad".
