X10 wireless cameras and video source question

Hey there,
Do the x10 wireless cameras (ninja package) really work?  Are they
useful for home security?  Can I put one by my front door under a
covered porch and then get a usable signal in my onq box?  I would
have to add just an outside outlet for $95 up on the wall.  I know I
asked a similar question yesterday about what to run for a hardwired
set-up.  If I get the pre-wired/powered camera run for $160, is there
a controllable camera out there that won't break the bank?
In the proposed home theater room, I was going to pass the RG-6 output
from the onQ box into the cable box and then either into the VCR or
into an A/V iver before running to the overhead projector (X-1) or
something.  If I don't run the signal through the VCR, I won't be able
to see the camera signal because there is no tuner anywhere else to be
able to switch to channel 99 or whatever, right?  Because the digital
cable box has it's own control and changes the channel.  Currently
that goes into tv channel 3.
Thanks!
oj

I didn't try it myself but hear on other boards that the Ninja when it
rotates  is also rotating the ptor unit, so it turns away from
it's optimal ption position. Secondly the Ninja has proprietry
controls that as far as I know it hasn't been broken. Thirdly the SW
that it uses to get remote video seems to be making your PC unstable.
These items made for me that I didn't buy them. You can see several
experts on this on the Homeseer board.
