RF100mm F/4.5 Expands the Lens Selection of the Award-Winning Medium Format Camera System
PMA, Orlando, FL, 2002: Tamron USA, Inc. announced the development of a new medium telephoto lens for the Bronica RF645 Interchangeable lens medium format rangefinder camera. This is the third lens for the camera system that includes a 65mm standard lens and a 45mm wide-angle lens.
Developed exclusively for the Bronica RF645 6x4.5 rangefinder camera, the world's first 6x4.5 format rangefinder camera that employs a built-in shutter interchangeable lens system, the new Zenzanon RF100mm F/4.5 lens provides excellent image quality by
efficiently and precisely compensating for aberrations.
"Variation Gauss Type" based on a symmetrical optical configuration was adopted for the optical system, which contributes to making the overall dimensions of the lens relatively smaller by shortening the length and portioning power to the front and back groups. This type of optical system is widely incorporated in the Zenzanon P Series lenses.
The Bronica RF645 Medium Format Rangefinder Camera has been awarded internationally as the best professional product of the year. In June, the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) selected the Bronica RF645 Medium Format 6x4.5 Rangefinder Camera as the Best Professional Photo Product 2001-2002. The Bronica RF645 also won the Japan Camera Grand Prix Special Award in June. The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) voted the Bronica RF645 Medium Format Rangefinder Camera as European Professional Camera of the Year 2001-2002 in August.
The new RF100mm F/4.5 lens will be available in Spring 2002.
